As Zuruel entered the Land of Thunder in a flash of black light (Hiraishin), he felt a strange power. A strange energy welling up inside of him. He stared into the sky and noticed a plethora of colours stretched across the horizon. He remembered this happening before. Quite some time ago. Only before, the colours were harbingers of an apocalypse that summoned forth skeleton and zombie warriors to attack Mo. Was the same going to happen?

Zuruel glanced at the sky and felt his Chakra react to it. There was a spike in his body – a surge of energy even. It was as if his very being was strengthened by the mysterious energies in the sky. He wondered if he could tap into it somehow. Rubbing his chin, he took a step back and signalled for Lady to keep her distance. Once complete, he breathed in.

Focusing, he called forth Chakra. Rather than a river flowing out of him, it was as if a flood gate had just burst. Energy blasted out of him with such intensity that the grass around him pulled away from the force. Never before had he felt such power.

Katon - Goukakyuu no Jutsu (Great Fireball Technique)

Skill: NinJutsu
Effect: The user is capable of performing a few handseals in which gives them the capability of blowing a large body of fire in size of a large sphere that has great fire proportions and explosive capabilities.
Special: "Handseals"
Drawback: Depending on the Rank, is dependent on how strong or how much the user is capable of doing with the Goukakyuu no Jutsu.
Description: The user quickly performs a few handseals. The user then places the hand over their mouth creating a small like circle. This technique in turn is then to help the user control the great flame. The use then blows out and creates a large fireball that twice the size of a normal human body. When the "C" Rank version is first learned the user is only capable of blowing out the Great Fireball that is cannot be moved or go anywhere else. This also means that the technique does not explode in a fiery explosion, but burns greatly to anyone that is caught within the technique. When the user learns the "B" Rank version then the user is capable blowing the Great Fireball into the distance, sending it away from the use it to hurl towards the very opponent. This technique is only capable of going into a straight line and this is capable of having the size three times the size of a human body. This technique when launched at an opponent then becomes dangerous because at this point the technique can explode causing damage that is even more devastating.

The duchess entered the land of thunder in a yellow flash just like Zuruel, although much much later and with Ragnar. "What was that?" she noticed the grass being somewhat damaged around him. She has already also noticed the skies, it was just like last time. Ragnar was running around tilting his head at the grass, just in time for a few zombies to appear in beam of light coming high above the sky. "I see. Rumor has it that they shy of light and fire. We shall test that out."

She was somewhat proficient with fire herself, but never really tried the stuff she read theory about on live subjects, well half dead in this case anyway. The fire chakra molding should be a specialty of the Sakurai (Uchiha) thus this was going to be a bit easy than other elements. The duchess was so skilled in chakra that she no longer needed to make handseals to produce any technique. Soon she would be molding chakra, adding the inner fire to it.

The step was to push the chakra up her abdomen and up through the lungs, coming out from her mouth. She had to lean forward a bit with her head as not doing that would probably give her some burns. After all this was a fire technique, of course it will be hot. She felt the fire smear some of her hair, she wanted to curse but not in this situation. The fire that came out from her also smeared the two zombies out in front while four more were still outside her range. "That's what you get." after she has hit them, those two bursted in flames.

Invigorating Pain
Rank: ‘B’, [‘A’], 'S'
Skill: Supplementary
Effect: When sustaining a wound, rather than succumbing to the pain, the user becomes more alert as the high enhances the users senses.
Special: ---
Drawback: The user still experiences pain as everyone else, including its debilitating effects, making the experience horrible in a way. This technique does not free the user from the detrimental and lethal effects of wounds and pain. If the user for example sustains an S-ranked wound they will be able to block out the pain for certain time, this does however not prevent the user from dying as a result of the wound before this time limit runs out.
Description: The more the user flirts with death, the larger the risk, the larger the reward. When hurt the user goes ‘misty eyed’ as the rush takes control. Some become extremely aggressive, whereas others retract themselves within their mind and become ruthlessly efficient. The rank of the wound, whether sustained or inflicted, determines how much the user gains. Once wounded the he user will be able to block out the pain of a wound up to the rank learned plus the pain of any subsequent wounds. In addition the pain activates the users fighters instinct, raising the awareness of the user. The world becomes a brighter place as everything lights up and colours intensify. The user becomes exceptionally sensitive towards motion, being able to spot a fly a several tens of meters away, gaining a +5 bonus to Observation checks when this jutsu is active per rank of wound sustained. This sharpening of all senses allows the user to more expertly sense when an attack is coming by. Within a range of ten meters per rank learned the user is able to sense if an attack is incoming, preventing the user from being caught unaware. The user is not able to sense incoming attacks from opponents that are higher ranked than the rank of this jutsu learned, plus the rank of wound sustained. When first hurt these effects kick in for the duration of three rounds, After these effects have worn off the user has to wait four turns again before being able to use this effect again.

The walk he had done to reach the land of lightning again had been boring and just emotionally numbing. His mind had wandered all over and he had found himself seeking the connection to his goddess, trying to start a communication with her. The conversation did however remain one sided, which was less interesting than he wanted it to be and therefor was ended fairly quickly. So when he had crossed a small river over a bridge and felt a tiny sting from a splinter, the boy smiled and began to try communicating in other ways. He brought out one of his crimson tears and punched it into the palm of his hand. The blood stream seeped itself around the senbon as the joyous sensation of pain hit him and the adrenaline rushed through his body.

The feeling had gotten so addictive lately and he could barely handle a day without it, which was a mixture of struggle and joy for him. The boy then continued to walk across the world, towards the location he last met with Zuruel. But every 5 minutes he pulled out the senbon and then quickly jab it back in there while carefully observing the damage being dealt. As he saw the flesh in his palms slowly close around the weapon, Emi began to wonder how the other worshippers of Nenyana were handling it when they most likely had to worry about surviving the damage. But the thoughts quickly escaped him as he the sky suddenly burst into all kinds of different colors and the young male Zuruel appeared out of nowhere. He was just a few dozen meters away from him, but as Emi was unprepared for anything to happen that suddenly, he clenched his fist.

Before he had the ability to stop himself the senbon had been pierced through his middle finger. That made him growl a little, which could reveal his position. It was however nothing he worried about and instead focused on getting the senbon out of his hand. It had gotten stuck along the middle part of the finger, which had him try to remove it in a few bad and painful attempts before deciding that it was just easier to pull it out the other side of the hand. Emi sighed as it left his body and he put it back into the robe. His eyes had turned misty and as the pain was still rushing through his body he was able to use it to get a good look on the surrounding area. It wasn't very interesting except for the sky, which had him look up as he approached the other man.

What's up with the sky Zuruel?

Emi then stretched his arm backwards and grabbed Zuruel's shield before holding it in front of himself. He wasn't very well equipped except for it, the bear paws and the crimson tears, but as he fully trusted the man in front of himself, allowing him to stay relaxed.

2. “Oh – the head tilters back?” Zuruel blinked at the sight of the tattooed man as the slight lapse in concentration caused the energy welling up inside of him to fizzle out. “Tch.” He grimaced as he pulled deep inside of himself once more whilst focusing on the powers the skies birthed inside of him. Immediately, the blue aura returned and pushed aside the soil around him slightly to form a slightly mound underneath the ground he stood on.

“This again?” Zuruel blinked. It was zombies again. Always the zombies. Spotting one sneaking behind the Duchess, Zuruel took in a deep breath and forced his Chakra to surge into his lungs. Compressing it here, he unleashed a violent shout with the intention of blasting the creature away. Unfortunately, the attack seemed to miss. Lacking focus, it simply demolished the around him and formed 5-meter crater.

“Emi!” Zuruel blinked. Luckily, by holding up the shield, Emi had accidentally blocked the attack. “Sturdy, is that for me?” He smiled, hoping that he would say yes. The craftsmanship was exquisite. The fact that it had so easily blocked the sound waves from his attack was proof of that.

Despite that Emi was mostly looking at the sky as he approached Zuruel, he noticed that there was some hostility in the man. So his gaze dropped approximately at the same time as some kind of shockwave approached him in a rapid speed. Since the shield was large and fairly massive, he just hid behind it with little to no effort and blocked the attack. But as he did, the wound in his hand had to absorb most of the vibrations caused by the hit. It wasn't that bad, but Emi revealed a grind and closed his eyes as a gently stream of pleasure tingled in the hand once again. To not allow it to vanish too quickly, Emi squeezed the handle tightly which kept it increasing the pleasure. But as there were others that he required to socialize with, he washed off the blood from the handle and moved the shield to the side to reveal himself.

I tweaked the piston enhancement a little, it should be able to reach a little over 3 times as far... Here, try it out.

Since the area was barren, Emi summoned a clone to help Zuruel to try the shield out. To show the man that there were no problems in hitting it, Emi stabbed the clone through the heart using his gauntlets. The clone fell down on its knees and seemed to have a hard time to breathe, but Emi himself that could feel the same pain rushing through him just leaned backed with his head a little and enjoyed it. He found it troublesome that he had to put some restrictions on it, especially with the stranger in the area. So Emi pulled out the claws from the clone and displayed that it was completely fine and could be used as a target for Zuruel. Since the clone seemed to be less than eager to stand still and just await for the incoming projectile to hit it, Emi gave it an angry gaze before he launched senbons at it every time it moved.

The sensation made him almost crave to hurt himself, to allow his limbs to be pierced by the cold and strong metal, to have the warm blood gently touch his naked skin and to fully surrender to the great lust granted by his goddess. But as a chill went through his spine, he realized how he, the man that had been training on self-control his entire life was loosing himself. The pain had been something that a lot of the monks had surrendered to, but he had thought he was stronger than that, apparently not. Emi took a deep breath and tried to take some control over his emotions again, which meant that he also had to stop throwing senbons at the clone. The relief from the clone was obvious, which only made the boy irritated, it was not like the clone had anything to do with why he stopped.

Description: The user performs the necessary handsigns and quickly launches a bright sun like orb into the sky from his/her mouth. While blinding the opponent, the orb bursts into many fireballs completely showering the area. This jutsu has the potential to easily destroy a forested area in an instant! the force of the fireballs are close to the force of small meteorites that would launch from the atmosphere, thus sending not only bursts of phoenix fire to do major damage, but the shockwave from the impact fiercely blowing away anything that’s not properly protected ( some sort of very hard substance, ex, steel)

Well obviously the duchess would eliminate at least two with her technique but there were still more. "Oh?" she spotted someone she has not seen yet interacting with Zuruel. Since she was still relatively close to him "You know the person?" she ask the man and then nodded at Emi "Hello there.". Since more zombies were appearing via the beam from the sky, she opted for a stronger technique. She has seen the destruction of this technique she was going to try, and thus had to move further a bit.

Not before she has warned them of the potential danger of this attack was it to succeed, which meant blinding as well. Since this was a hard technique to create, this time around she would be using handseals. While molding the chakra she experimented with the order of her handseals. Hopefully when she pushed the chakra through he mouth, the large fireball would be formed. Well it did actually form however it wasn't anywhere as big as she had hoped, just like when she saw it. She will have to do with this little one for now.

Ragnar seemed to think the zombies were a laughing matter, instead of fighting seriously the tattooed man has been kicked in the guts by one of them and stumbled right into her from the back. This laps of concentration blew her technique into smithers, it just evaporated into nothingness. "Oh c'mon Ragnar!" she reprimanded the man while having smoke still coming from her mouth. Now she had to try once again, the zombies were slowly arriving at their destination.

3. Zuruel pointed up at the glittering sky. “It’s like a weird Chakra boost… Thingy.” Not being a man of science, Zuruel didn’t quite know how to describe the phenomena as he tapped into it once more to release a surge of Chakra. As this happened, he moulded the Chakra with sound energy by focusing on thoughts and images of birds chirping and harps ringing in the air. As always, his Chakra absorbed these thoughts to change its properties.

As this happened, Zuruel reached out and grabbed the shield Emi offered. Unfortunately, with the Chakra already in his lungs, he found it impossible to thank his ally. Unsure of what to do, he dashed away from Emi while keeping control of the volatile Chakra in his lungs. Despite it being more powerful than anything he had ever contained in his body before, he managed to do it through focus and will.

Once a safe distance away, he yelled. “Thanks!” As he did so, the earth around him blasted away and resulted in a crater as the soundwaves hit everything around him with enough force to likely stun any living creature to the core.

The duchess saw just how awkward Zuruel had been withholding his technique then making a crater. "Be careful Zuruel." she wouldn't want him hitting anyone friendly as in these kind of bizarre situations many more people ought to show up. "Alright Ragnar, I'll try again, and this time don't stumble into me please." she then began to think where she could aim. In an essence, aiming had to be calculated but she has never done that with this particular technique.

Ragnar hit a few zombies who managed to get too close, defending her while she calculated. The duchess thought he math was good but in this case, she wasn't sure if what she was going to do was not dangerous even for her and Ragnar. "Be careful guys." she yelled before experimenting with the handseals again. This time trying a different combination she thought could be better, after all many factors were to be considered to make it right. She pushed her chakra up again, getting more smoke coming out of her mouth.

Maybe this was not right? she thought to herself but still continued to see what happens. Turns out the smoke was still from the previous attempt and so this time when she released the chakra out, the fireball got a tiny bit larger. It was possible she was not giving it enough chakra? The balls then flew up in the sky but then nothing apart from a few drops of heated fire fell on a zombie. It gave him minor burns only, he just barely fazed.

“Ah – yes. This is Emi.” Zuruel rarely bothered to introduce people aside from Lady who he trusted with his life. Likely, that was a sign for the Duchess that he considered Emi a companion. A rare compliment from a loner like Zuruel. “I’ve got a good grasp over this now.” Taking in the Duchess’s warning, the Kedoin dashed into a horde of zombies whilst summoning forth Chakra into his lungs to start the technique.

Zuruel then coated his throat in Chakra too. This way, his fragile innards were protected against the shockwave which he could now focus more energy and intensity into. Once complete, he whistled slightly to warm up his vocal cords before finally, yelling. The single word forced the Chakra into action and caused it to mix with the air in his lungs as it expelled outwards in a violent shockwaves all around him.

“Fifteen.” He thought to himself as the blast knocked all the zombies around himself onto the ground. Now, they were truly lifeless corpses. He had also just confirmed the max range of the technique. Fifteen meters.

Emi was the name of the person who came in to help them. After knocking down a few zombies she has opted to have a look at the newcomer. "Nice to meet you. I am the Duchess of Mo. I hope you can fight Emi." she tried to introduce herself awkwardly while still being quite a distance away from Emi "and this is Ragnar" the person in question tilted his head. She then began to form a new set of handseals.

"Be careful everyone." this technique if performed perfectly could blind her enemies too, or anyone who would be looking at the ball of fire. She thought the ball would have to be very bright indeed to accomplish such a feat. This time switching the sets of handseals again she pushed more chakra into her lungs. Smoke did not come out of her mouth, this was a very good signal that she was doing something right.

She tried to hold the chakra longer too because one time she heard someone saying it amplified the jutsu. Having no experience with breathing and spewing techniques, there was no doubt in her mind that those words might just be half truths. In any case when releasing the fireball it got half bigger than last time. In her mind she noted these differences and how she came to create them for next time.

After unleashing his attack, Zuruel quickly realised that his Jutsu was incomplete and unreliable. Several of the opponents had already recovered from the stun. “Careful.” Zuruel warned lady as the Duchess unleashed her blinding attack. After blocking his eyes from the intense light, the Kedoin grabbed his flute and began playing a tune. He wondered if his technique could be enhanced through the instrument.

With that in mind, he set up the song by first playing a thrilling tune. He knew how to do this from all of his bard training. A combination of low and high pitch notes were needed and combined to create the sinister melody. It made sense to him. A technique capable of stunning required a shocking song that sounded exactly like a powerful explosion. Unfortunately, it took a few minutes to perfect the tune. During this time, it was up to the others to defend.

Carefully, Zuruel played. Adjusting his melodies and use of song techniques until finally, the tune sounded as he pictured in his head. Once it was perfected, he set about practicing it before preparing his chakra.

Emi did actually not notice that there was so much action around them until Zuruel moved away from him. The Hoshigaki then turned towards the zombies and withdrew the claws in his gauntlets.

Oh, hello. Must have been a little too focused here. Hoshigaki Emi of the rain, pleasure.

He said to the duchess as the clone slapped his own head as it had known from the start what was going on. But as Emi was about to dash off to assist with the zombies, the shochwave from Zuruel came rushing by and knocked him off his feet and into a smaller cliff. A loud crack was heard as the stones hit him straight in the spine and broke several of them instantly. Emi groaned after a brief moment of hesitation as he hadn't realized what had happened at first.

Seriously Zuruel?

The boy grinned as the pain paralyzed his back and had him immobile for a few seconds. He then forced the sockets back in place by leaning forward and having the regenerative ability he had to heal the damage. It was however a completely new sensation as he had never damaged his back before. Everything felt so tense and the severe damage he had sustained made it hard for him to actually ignore the pain. So while he sat up on the stones he had to take deep breaths and move only when his body had stopped shaking. "I guess I had it coming, wishing for getting damage." He chuckled quietly as the day had gone from boring to actually interesting.

What made the entire thing even more difficult was that the zombies that the kage bunshin had started to attack were constantly inflicting small wounds upon it, making him feeling annoying stings along the massive numbing pain in the back. When the body had healed the spine enough to support his upper body, Emi rolled up on his feet and tried to warm up the muscles surrounding the damage. That made him feel that several of them had actually ripped, making the process to recover all the more annoying.

Maybe we shouldn't use chakra, it seems to be instable

He said so despite that he was currently running wild of chakra, but as he had felt the possible effect of it, he didn't want to dessimate the area with the immense power. But since the zombies had gotten close enough to start attacking him, Emi stumbled forward and swung towards the closest ones of them. The movements were slow as the entire attack hurt him far more than he wanted to show, but despite him being accustomed to pain tears were hiding in the corner of the eye.

2. Zuruel focused on Emi after having perfected his shocking melody. “Apologies… My powers are not under my control.” Zuruel didn’t enjoy the fact that he had just hurt a comrade. However, strangely, Emi seemed to enjoy it. “I am determined to control this power.” He thought to himself as he placed the flute on his lips. He began the first part of the song he had just created before slowly summoning forth Sound Chakra.

As before, the image of harps, birds and anything remotely music allowed the Chakra to be given form as sound energy. Given this to work with, Zuruel poured the Chakra into his lungs and allowed it to mix with the air. As he blew into his flute, this energy seemed to empower the song Zuruel was playing just as intended. Rather than unleashing a single shockwave capable of stunning, the Kedoin now how much more control.

As he continued playing the tune, Zuruel focused the soundwaves into several spots to create orbs of sound. They felt a bit flimsy, but after adjusting the pitch of the tune slightly, Zuruel managed to give them a more solid state that allowed them to persist around him even when the song finished.

The large fireball has been released into the ether shining brightly yet still not enough. She remembered it to be much shinier at first. "Hmm I should increase its power somehow. Maybe more chakra." she contemplated as Ragnar slayed a few zombies approaching the Sakurai. The ball then began to crash down on the ground, raining smaller millimeter fireballs doing light burns on the now horde of zombies. This did not bode so well for them, she really wanted to wipe them out all at once using this same technique.

When turning towards Emi after being almost swept by Zuruels voice "Are you alright?" she asked the man. Her medical side wanted to stop everything and come help this man but another side of her said that if she did, the zombies might overwhelm them. "Alright, stay there, Ragnar help defend Emi while I take care of the horde." the duchess liked the word "alright" and was using it often. Another set of handseals has been formed and ready to be activated.

Her chakra increased immensely while trying again, the technique has already expended quite some chakra from the Sakurai. She contemplated using the Sharingan to boost this jutsu for a moment, but stopped in the end. This time the ball was big enough to be called a proper technique, still not the right size though. It was fired up in the sky "Be careful!" she yelled at the last second after it began to shine brightly, perhaps even blinding a few zombies. Now wait for it to fall down, the carnage she was expecting.

Description: Fanfare creates a blast so loud it can shake the foundations of buildings and stop an army in its tracks. This reaches out in a cone shape extending eighty meters away and forty meters wide at the furthest point. Every creature within the cone will be stunned for 1d4 rounds and deafened for twice as many. The creatures must pass a roll of one hundred with a thirty or higher or they will suffer a B rank of internal damage as well. Any object caught in this blast will take an A rank worth of damage as well.
Limit: Art of the Bard. Must have an instrument or Singing S Rank.

1. Zuruel could feel the power welling up inside of him. The vibrations of his sound Chakra were so intense that it felt as if they were going to destroy him from the inside out. To counter this, he knew he needed to unleash a powerful attack. However, after considering it, he knew am area of effect was out of the question. His allies would almost certainly get caught in the blast. Unless he could somehow force the attack to fire in a cone shape.

Upon considering this, Zuruel put away his flute. There was no need for it anymore. He needed to go all out without precision. Just pure power. Taking in a deep breath, he exhaled sharply to release his lungs of all the toxins that had built up inside of him so far. With that complete, Zuruel widened his stance and raised his chest slightly. This was to relax his chest muscles and to increase his lung capacity. He knew he needed as much air as possible.

“More power? I guess you have the same thing in mind as I do, Duchess.” Zuruel smiled as he inhaled once more, although this time, he allowed his lungs to expand fully so that he contained as much air in his body as physically possible.

Effect: User creates a permanent crystal.

Drawback: The crystal itself, once formed, holds no chakra within it and must be interacted with directly in order to be used with other Shōton jutsu.
Description: Using their mastery over the Shōton style of ninjutsu, the user is able to create a permanent crystal. This crystal is not dependent on the user’s chakra in any way and remain as it is regardless of what the user does. This crystal cannot be used with other Shōton ninjutsu unless directly interacted with, meaning that the user of a Shōton technique must make physical contact with the crystal in order to put chakra into it to manipulate it. The size and strength of this crystal is dependent on the user’s knowledge of Shōton: Crystallization.
Shōton: Crystallization learned 10 times – User is able to create 5 cubic meters of permanent crystal.
Shōton: Crystallization learned 20 times – User is able to create 10 cubic meters of permanent crystal.
Shōton: Crystallization learned 30 times – User is able to create 15 cubic meters of permanent crystal.
Shōton: Crystallization learned 40 times – User is able to create 20 cubic meters of permanent crystal.

Lady:

1. “I’ll do my best too.” Lady focused on the mysterious energies inside of her. She didn’t quite understand if it was the ‘Chakra’ or ‘Aura’ that Zuruel spoke of, but in a way, she had long since begun to understand that she was capable of manipulating it. Beyond all else though, as she focused and caused the energy inside of her to surge out, she knew that it was thanks to the sky amplifying her power and making it more noticeable.

As Lady focused, she did what Zuruel taught her too. She pictured diamonds and stars twinkling across the sky. Images that reminded her of crystals. As she did this, her energy reacted and absorbed her thoughts – birthing crystal Chakra for her to use in a Jutsu. With a smile, she focused intently on the spot in front of her and released her Chakra at a single blade of grass whilst hoping.

Whereas before she struggled to even form a single droplet of a crystal, under the enhancing effects of the sky, the entire blade of grass she focused on crystallised. In fact, a large chunk of the area roughly 5 cubic meters in length suddenly crystallised without her intending to do so.
