A classic trick, and not one that Yoko was unused to, she was, of course, a grandmaster: state a high price then give the other person the chance to make their own offer in the hope that they follow suit and also offer a high deal. Yoko had seen it before, it was a common market stall trick. Yoko however, knew that she had to approach this with a rational mind. She was after all providing them with the use of their lava forged smithy, a room that would cost some 225,000 to purchase, along with a legendary book that was hard to acquire also costing 140,000. So, from Yoko’s perspective, she was providing him with the use of a lot of resources, along with the protection that came from being inside a village. “Well, I think that we need to take into consideration what the village is offering, the use of our facilities, protection, and the initial injection of capital that a new business needs. From my perspective, we are effectively cutting your running costs, in what is likely to be the hardest part of your business. After all, if you were to sell on the open market what stops someone from simply killing you or one of your employees for the items?”
Yoko left a good few moments for Blight to consider her words although she already assumed that he knew these factors. Even so, she carefully watched his reaction to see how well he hid his hand, for while he could well have been skilled in the art of haggling, it did not necessarily follow that he was skilled in the art of acting. Thus, his emotions and feelings about the deal could have been given away with ease. In effect, it was the result of playing poker without a poker face. Yoko, on the other hand, was very skilled in this particular skill, and thus felt confident that she could keep her true feelings, emotions, and thoughts hidden if required.
