Kagemane no Jutsu, 影真似の術 (Shadow Imitation Technique)
Rank: "C" Rank
Skill: NinJutsu
Effect: The signature move of the Nara family, this jutsu allows the user to control their own shadow and merge it with their opponent's shadow, combining them. This links the movements of the user with the target; the target is subsequently forced to make any movement the user makes. It is an extremely versatile technique, as the user can contract and change the shape of their shadow, potentially grabbing multiple targets at once. The degree to which the user's shadow can be stretched is limited by its total surface area.
Special: Seals are used but unknown.
Drawback: Must Be Learned Multiple times in order to truly achieve something grand.
Description: Using the shadows of other objects, the user can extend their shadow beyond its normal range. The amount of time for which an opponent can be held is limited by the user's chakra, since the user must constantly maintain the jutsu. The jutsu is also more difficult to maintain at greater ranges or for multiple opponents, since the user's shadow must be stretched constantly. At closer ranges, it requires considerably less effort on the user's part. Additionally, the target can force their way free with enough effort, though the amount of effort required to do so is considerable. There are two tables or understandings for this technique that consists of the Difficulty class of the User as well as the Opponent, and as to how far the user is capable of using this technique. When first learned the user is only capable of using this technique at a distance of ten meters. Each time this technique is learned the distance increases by another Ten Meters. The user is capable of making their shadow split and by doing so takes up the distance of the total form of the original technique. This means that if a user has this technique to where they can use thirty meters and wishes to make this technique split to three shadows the maximum distance is ten meters per shadow.
Kazumaru stood at the edge of the pond now, the sun rising in the distance. Throughout his training, there was no doubt in his mind that he had become skilled in the art of shadows. he was sure he had gained the right to bear the nara name, weilding shadows like toys... or weapons... But he still had a long way to go before he could master his skills.
The one thing that a Nara depends on the most, the one thing that all of his other techniques are based around, is the Kagemane No Jutsu, the jutsu that could control shadows. improving that skill alone would improve all of his other shadow based jutsu, make them go further, faster, and be more powerful. To improve the Kagemane No Jutsu however was a hardship for genin however, because there was rarely a set way to practice it.
Kazumaru Knew that the more he improved his Kagemane, the more Nara techniques he could teach himself. But how would he practice? just moving shadows wouldnt be enough, it was all things he had done before... maybe in practicing his other techniques, he would improve the Kagemane No Jutsu.
So Kazumaru started off building chakra and shadows into his fist, molding it like clay, changing its appearance to that of a Kunai Knife. After his right hand had successfully molded a shadow kunai, he started the same routine with his left hand, once again lining the shadows with chakra to make it sharp.
The Kunai knives that kazumaru had constructed in both hands were ready to be thrown. He chose a target, the willow tree to the far end of the pond, and threw the kunai. He had purposely Thrown the Kunai a little off course, so he could practice his control of them in mid flight.
since his target was a good distance away, Kazumaru had a little time to have fun with this jutsu. Spinning his hands around once in a clockwise position made the two kunai preform a barrel role before hitting its mark. "i'd give that a perfect ten." Kazumaru said as he smirked at his little trick.
Learning to control the location at which the shadows hit was useful at gaining control of his shadows. the better he could do this, the more elegantly, and easily he could control his own shadow. As long as Kazumaru practiced his shadow kunai jutsu, he would learn to easily control the movement of his shadow, decreasing the use of his chakra.
"well, that will help the control of my shadows..." proclaimed Kazumaru to no one in particular, "now how can i get my shadow to stretch further...?" He pondered this thought, unsure about how to train further with his jutsu.
