"Well hello," Valerys said, "You must be Norman." He looked at her, up and down as if weighing his options, and said, "Perhaps, what is it to you?" Valerys told her of her name and that was coming here because she had been sent from a demon lord to let him know that they had been watching him -- that they needed him to continue his evil projects and give them information. Norman asked her questions, curious as to whether or not she really knew as much about him as she claimed, and thanks to her knowledge in current affairs she was able to answer them all. Norman invited her in and the two of them sat at the dining room table, where she told him enough lies to gain his trust. Once she had done enough of this, Valerys realized that now she could truly determine the course of current affairs. Norman was more powerful than all of his followers and must have had some grander knowledge about the surrounding areas. So Valerys began to ask him questions.

"Why do your towns people believe that you are in contact with demons and necromancers?" Valerys asked, getting straight to the point. "Because I do," Norman said simply, "I've heard from many of them in my head, met them in person, and indeed they have revealed things to me." Valerys listened with interest, surprised that the rumors about him had been true, or so he believed. "And what kind of things do they show you or tell you?"

"They tell me about man and the things to come. That you would arrive her and that I had to show you certain techniques while you stayed here. Indeed, the current affairs of this area have begun to include even yourself." Valerys listened, becoming more interested, and tried to get as much information out of the man as possible. Who knew if it were true, but he certainly seemed to think that it was which could play out to her advantage. "Who are these beings that you have spoken to and is it here in Dunwich?"

"No it was some miles away," Norman said, "In the heart of a small hamlet far from here. There I met with the demons in my dreams for the first time. Over many months, they told me how to get to this place and what to do in order to lead it." Valerys listened, admiring the skills that the demons seemed to have given him, and wondered who they really were.

If the target is not on the ground when this Jutsu takes effect the target must return to the ground as fast as possible without the risk of damage. A Will Save of 10 + (2 Per Class Level + Impeccable Will) will negate this effect.

After Norman had answered several of her questions, Valerys and he became much closer and it appeared that he trusted her more now. He took Valerys down into one of his cellars and here Valerys saw that there were dozens of iron cages. Although Norman had not turned on the lights, with her darkvision she could see that there was a bird, many of different species, liked away inside each one of the cages. Norman turned on the light and said, "If you are open to the idea, then I could teach you a new technique." Valerys looked at him and smiled, saying, "I'm always open to learning a new technique." With that Norman took out one of the birds and held it out to Valerys. "Concentrate on this creature with your soul," he explained.

"Using the power within your soul, call upon your energy to capture this bird's wings and its ability to fly." Valerys looked upon the creature and took it from Norman, keeping her hands tucked around it so that it could not fly away, and began to reach inside of her soul. Her inward self was dark and corrupt, leaking out into her body and her soul began to manifest this energy toward the bird. It clearly did not like the feeling or the presence that it fell, fluttering in her hands as if it wanted to escape. "No, no, now," Valerys said. "Hold on." The energy of her soul leaked through her palms and into the small white bird that rested in her hands. When her soul felt sufficiently drained, she stopped.

Valerys opened up her hands to reveal the little white bird sitting there, looking up at her and hopping around, unable to fly away. "Good job," Norman said, "I'm not sure I've seen someone pick up on it that fast." He hurried toward another one of the cages and pulled out yet another bird for her to test out the technique upon. This one was larger and appeared to be a hawk, with talons that Valerys knew could injure her skin quite a bit. "Now try it on this own," Norman said and handed the hawk to her. It was large and rough, and its talons dug into her hands a little but she immediately began to run her soul energy toward the bird. Just as before, she let her evil intentions overwhelm it and her soul began to take away the wings from its own soul.

Valerys looked to Norman and showed him that she had mastered this technique. He took away the hawk and then told her, "Alrigh then. Have you learned yet how to move and perform your soulcaster techniques?" Valerys told him that she had not, and he took her out of the back room and into the kitchen once more. The two of them stood there and he ran across the room while shooting a searing waave, demonstrating how the technique was done. "As you can see, the soul adds great resistance when the body is in motion. However, if one learns to meld the mind and the body then they can teach themselves to overcome this. The soul is highly adaptable." Valerys thought about it and thought back to her meditations, when she often allowed her mind and her body to become one. She began to meditate lightly now, closing her eyes, and when she opened them again she began to run just as Norman had.

As she ran Valerys tapped into the center of her soul, using her breathing techiques to put herself into a sort of trance. The evilness of her soul began to rise up, but it was obstructed by her moving legs. She tapped into larger resevours of her soul energy and forced it to move up within her, attempting to perform her searing soul technique as she ran. The strength of her body was too much, however, and she found that she could not deliver the technique. Norman looked at her a little ashamed. "You must get past this," he said, "There is no excuse for not being able to perform your soulcaster techniques as your body moves. Are you not a master now?" Valerys felt a little ashamaed and let it fuel her technique.

She ran across the room again, this time focusing greatly into her soul and then at the last minute throwing her arms up. The soul energy rushed from her body, despite her moving legs, and pushed as if againsst a water wheel into the air in front of her. Her searing soul attack came flying out her palms. "Ha!" Valerys yelled. The wall in front of her suddenly cracked and sent up clouds of dust. Norman looked at her in surprise and yelled, "You didn't have to hit my kitchen wall!" Valerys smiled and said, "No worries, Norman, you'e trained me well." As if to demonstrate, she went for it again running up to him and then suddenly welling up her soul energy. In a second she was running at Norman, and then she was behind him -- her soul shunt teleporting her through the air. "And that's how it is done," she said with a sneer.

User lets the leash on their soul out some so it can explore and tell the user about what is out there. User can send their soul out in a range of Searing Soul. When the user uses this ability, the user is unable to move or make any movements. User's soul uses the same movements as the user. User knows what each other is doing and seeing. User is able to only take movements when the user reconnects with their soul ending this effect. Soul Scout cannot perform Jutsus. If a creature has Chakra Sight, True Seeing, they can see the user's soul as it moves about.
Limit: Must be a Soulcaster.

After learning how to move while using soulcaster techniques, Valerys and Norman sat on the ground, cross-legged, as they meditated a little after their training. Each of them were evil and so the meditation was good, involving all sorts of dark thoughts and energies which were shared between them. As they were focusing, Norman said, "There is another technique now that I was told to show you, which will allow you to scout out areas without having to be there in person." Valerys listened to this and watched as Norman concentrated his energy but she could not determine what exactly he was doing. "My soul is stnding behind you," he said, "And that is the power of the Soul Scout." Valerys looked behind her and saw nothing, wondering if the technique was real, and listened to Norman explain how to do the technique. He spoke fast, knowing she could handle it after their previous training sessions.

Valerys looked at Norman then and tried to do the same as he was doing, forming energy into the center of her being -- stemming from her gut and seeing to pour out all over her soul. She could feel the evil soul inside of her, like another being entirely, and allowed it to feast on her energy and power. From somewhere deep inside of her she could feel that it wanted to move. Her soul began to move its right arm, and Valerys noted that it was separate from her own. Pulling apart from her skin and she started to try to have its whole body do the same -- moving out of her husk with its limitations. The soul began to crawl out from her back and Valerys wondered if Norman was watching her, if he had some way of seeing her soul which was stemming out of her body. Suddenly her soul was trying to get its feet out and Valerys gave it one more push, helping it achieve the goal.

Now that the soul was standing behind her, completely separated from the physical body, Valerys imagined a soul link that kept it tethered to her body. She was aware that she could not move, all of her concentration and awareness going into the soul which now wanted to walk about. She had it take one step, as if she we were learning to walk again, and her soul responded readily -- almost eager to accomplish this mission. After a couple of steps, Valerys was learning how to make it walk and trained it to walk between her and Norman. She then had it try to pass through one of his walls, a task that could prove very useful, and was surprised to find that she could see even behind Norman's kitchen wall -- into one of his studies. A strange looking place. Norman seemed to sense what she was doing and said, "Hmmm, well it looks like you've learned quite well."

After learning all she could from him, Valerys left Norman and Dunwich.

As Valerys returned to the Senpu Dojo, she felt glad to be back to her old training facility. She had spent so much time traveling around and now she could truly get down to business. As she entered the first place she went was Sekai's Tower, eager to see if there were any new genjutsu techniques to learn. As she entered, she found that Sekai was already occupied with students and decided to sit in and listen to what she had to say. Sekai was explaining a genjutsu technique called Rage, which as she explained could "stimulate the effects of rage from the Brawler fighting style into a genjutsu component to be used on allies or mind slaves." Valerys listened to this words and began to realize the true power of her enchantment techniques -- they were additions for those that she was able to charm, to capture with her mind. She listened and watched how Sekai performed the handseals for the genjutsu -- memorizing them for later use. When she was done Valerys walked up to her.

"So you've returned," Sekai said to Valerys. Valerys told her about the things she had learned and that she was looking for advice on this new Rage technique. "When you use it," Sekai explained, "Make sure that you are in fact experiencing the power of rage and anger. Let it fuel your being. In this way you will be able to transfer it." Valerys took the words to heart and went to the training room, where she did the handseals several times to make sure that she knew them perfectly. When she had them mastered, Valerys performed the handseals and looked at one of the other students that were training here as well. She let her chakra build up throughout her arms and then let the jutsu linger within her. Valerys walked up to one of the boys that she saw training and touched his shoulder. "Here you go," she said with a smile. The boy looked at her and Valerys saw the change.

Immediately his eyes went wide and it was as if testosterone were flooding his body. Valerys could feel her chakra moving out of her own body and infecting the boy. He looked at her, smiling, and said, "I think you got it." And suddenly he was going a little crazy in the head with rage. Valerys focused on her own anger as she continued to hold the technique, keeping it going as long as possible. She thought about the people who had defeated her in combat or kept her from killing someone. How they angered her to no end... Her bloodlust grew as she thought about them and helped supply the chakra necessary for the technique, keeping the boy raging as he withdrew his sword and starting going crazy -- slicing at the wall behind them. "Do what you will," Valerys said and let her anger keep building, beginning to see red in her mind just like her red hair and eyes. After about thirty seconds the jutsu ended and everything was back to normal, but Valerys was proud of how much she had accomplished in the first try.

As the boy fell out of his rage and Valerys and him were now standing together, Valerys decided that they might as well train together. He told her that he specialized in taijutsu and Valerys said that she would try out a genjutsu technique to allow his taijutsu skills to increase. The two stood very close to one another, about a meter away, and she formed some handsigns that she had once seen in one of Sekai's classes. As the handseals were going through her, Valerys thought about her own taijutsu and strength and how it functioned. She could see her nervous system clearly thanks to her training in pressure points and was adept at ki manipulation as well. She sent these thoughts throughout her consciousness as she manipulated her chakra and allowed it to weave through space, toward the boy that stood in front of her. The boy recieved the jutsu well and let it wash over him. A trusting individual, Valerys thought to herself and kept in mind in case she ever found herself up against him.

She left off her technique and the air around the two of them seemed to shift with her chakra. All of a sudden both of them seemed to be growing in strength, their minds making it seem as if their muscles had more strength. "I think it worked," the boy said. Valerys thought probably just a little, but still better than nothing. The boy drew his sword and dashed at the wall, making some strikes that were noticeably thicker than before. Valerys drew her own polearm and dashed at the way, smacking it and leaving a decent sized crater. She had definitely increased her strength to some extent. Valerys sat down and began to contemplate the change as the boy continued swinging his sword. She built up her chakra around the two of them and kept it steady. The aura seemed to affect a 10 meter diameter and she made sure to keep this space charged with her energy.

Suddenly it felt like she was sitting in sacred space. The boy was swinging his sword and feeding off of Valerys' chakra. It felt funny, to be helping someone rather than hindering them. But Valerys thought once again about her mind slaves and how she would need to enhance them in the future. As the time ran out on her technique, Valerys told the boy no need to stop. She was going to do it again. Valerys did a bit of stretching and some punches to get into the mindset and then fired off the handseals, filling the area with her chakra. This time it felt different, heavier, and she knew that the boy was going to be stronger than before. When he sliced at the wall it left a nice, long and deep mark. Valerys smiled as it seemed so appropriate for her intentions. For now this boy could be her minion. After that she felt better about giving him her chakra to sustain the technique and allowed him to cut away with his sword.

As Valerys had been working with the boy she decided that she needed to try a new technique, one that she had seen written about in old books that Gilbert had in the Land of Earth. This one was suppose to keep a person from talking about a subject as determined by the user. Valerys could think of all sorts of ways that this would be useful, and took the boy that she had just met off away from Sekai's Tower. The two of them went out to train into the woods, where Valerys sparred with him in weapon combat. Sword against spear. As she was sparring with him, Valerys decided to tell him the truth about herself. "You know, I'm actually not a good person -- I've killed several people at this point and will probably keep on doing it." The boy suddenly stopped sparring. "Wait, what do you mean?" He seemed horrified. "I mean that truly, most of my life has been spent bringing nothing but misery and pain." She stepped forward toward him then, wondering how she was going to pull this off.

As she walked forward Valerys was performing a string of handseals. The boy could have stopped her with his sword perhaps, if he was not so frieghtened. As she got closer he tried to get away but thanks to her taijutsu skills she caught up to him and touched him -- delivering her chakra throughout her entire arm and into her finger. As she did she tried to make it where the boy could not talk about what she had told him, keeping the thought of silence in her mind as she performed the technique. She imagined the boy's face with his mouth wiped away, completely smooth and unable to say a word. She would attempt to style the wording so that, "He could indicate nothing about her since they left the dojo." The boy stopped trying to run away when he realized Valerys wasn't going to physically hurt him. "What did you do?" he asked, clearly sweating.

After that Valerys knew she needed to discover what he was willing to see in order to determine if she had correctly performed the technique. "Tell me, what did I just tell you?" Valerys asked him simply. The boy tried to talk about it and what came out was a string of some decipherable words, "Kill... Murder... Valerys... Evil..." Valerys shook her head. "No, no, that won't do. Can't have you going around saying that." She performed the handseals again and then touched the boy lightly on the forehead. He was still shaken up, but he knew that it would hurt him in the usual sense. "Now try." The people tried but as he might, he could not repeat it. Valerys grinned and said, "Well good, let's hope it stays that way. Now run along, if I catch you somehow breaking this technique and speaking about this I'll come for you." After that she left the boy run off, wondering if it was okay to do so. After that she went off, in search for other victims to train her technique upon.

As Valerys was finished with the boy, she moved into the dojo and began looking for Sekai. Sekai and her went to one of the training rooms and her sensei told her to use the technique on herself -- to keep Sekai from talking about something random, such as what shoes Valerys was wearing. She performed the handseals and reached forward to touch Sekai's shoulder, feeling her power, and tried to encapsulate her voice. Valerys concentrated on the image of Sekai without a mouth, just as she had the boy, and tried to have her chakra steal into her mind and stop any sort of talk about her shoes. The matter, since it was not dire or all that personal, made it more difficult to engage in the technique, but Valerys knew that to master this technique she had to be able to use it at any time on anything. Valerys finished her technique and Sekai tried to talk about them, which she was able to do without a problem.

"You are going to have to do better than that," Sekai explained, "When you cut somebody off from their experience, you cut them off from being able to talk about it. We all have things that we are cut off from -- good or evil or lawfulness -- and we find it harder to speak on those topics. Tap into this energy and transfer it into the consciousness of your opponent." Valerys heeded the words and kept these thoughts in mind as she performed the handseals once more. She reached toward Sekai and delivered the touch, imbuing it with all that she had been told about. After that Sekai did try to talk about Valerys' shoes, and this time it could not work. "There you go," Sekai said simply, "And that's the basics." Valerys felt a little like she had fooled, as this weren't enough of an answer.

Valerys went out into the dojo and began looking for some of the new arrivals. When she had found one, she used her knowledge of pressure points to knock them out and bring them back to her -- keeping them tied up so that they could not escape. It was a young girl that Valerys took and applauded herself for her cruelty. As the girl opened her eyes and saw what Valerys had done, she looekd shock. Valerys told her that she would let the girl go, and the girl said that if she did she wouldn't tell anyone -- as long as Valerys didn't hurt her. Valerys smiled at the girl and said, "Soon you won't be able to tell anyone what I've done to you anyways." The girl looked frieghten as Valerys walked forward and began to talk to her, to tell her of all the evil things she had done. All of the people she had killed. The boy who she had just fooled, and how she was going to do it to her as well.

Valerys then did and said things to the girl which would never be known, destined to be hidden away forever. When she was done, she performed the handseals as the girl sat there -- crying from her destress. Valerys sent chakra flooding through her arms and hands, into the tips of each and every finger that may touch the young woman. When she was done, Valerys put her pointer and middle finger to the girls forehead and said, "You will not speak of anything that has happened here since you met me." Valerys used the tricks that Sekai had shown her earlier, imagining the girl with no mouth and her mind being cut off from this moment. These memories. No mater how much she tried, her neurological system would be imbued with a chakra specific to this experience and Valerys designed it so that she could not access this memory and the language areas of her brain. How sad for her...

Valerys then asked her, "So what have I done to you?" The girl looked at her confused and Valerys demanded that she answer the question. The girl finally tried to talk about what Valerys had done and found that her mouth would not bring her words to bear. The girl looked scared and said, "What have you done to me?" Valerys said, "Did I hurt you." The girl was not able to say it, but she was able to nod and Valerys knew that she was going to have to do better at this technique. She performed the handseals again and once more reached out to the girl, imbuing her mind and brain with her chakra of even greater force than before. She could see the girls will submit under her gaze and she could resist it no longer. After that Valerys tested her one more time.

"Did I hurt you?" The girl tried to nod, but it was no use. Although this was not spoken, it was still related to the language center of her brain and even this symbol was too difficult to achieve. "Ah, now I see that you are ready," Valerys said and reached forward to let her go. The girl ran away, probably not realizing that this technique would last forever. Valerys smiled and went back out into town, knowing that she still had a little left to learn. It was then that she ran into Rarilue, one of the students who she had become quite close with. She convinced him to go with her out into the sands for some training, and here she told him that she learned a new technique. Lue seemed very interested. Valerys said that she could keep him from talking about anything, even the fact that they were out here training. Lue agreed and Valerys got ready to try out her technique on he who was supposed to be her friend.

Description: A Mind-Affecting Technique. Affects 1 creature. The user is able to perform this technique on the target they touch. The duration of this technique is permanent. This technique may be negated. The topic should be as narrow as possible for the Jutsu to work properly. An appropriate topic might be events that occurred while the creature was in captivity, the whereabouts and names of tormentors, the secret location of a hidden treasure, the password into a guarded compound, the command word of an item, or the explanation behind some major occurrence. Invalid topics include verbal commands of Jutsus, a creature's whole life history, or anything too broad for a reasonable definition of a single topic. Whether a topic is too broad is up to the Higher Staff, who can have the Jutsu automatically fail if the user persists in attempting an invalid topic. Thus, this can be a dangerous Jutsu to attempt. The affected creature cannot communicate regarding the topic in any way. Speech becomes gibberish, writing is reduced to an indecipherable scrawl, gestures are impossible, and even is scrambled. The creature has not forgotten the information, however, and it can be a maddening occurrence for the creature to be unable to communicate information that might be of life-and-death importance to friends and allies.

Valerys performed the handseals and began to fuel all of the chakra into her hands. She concentrated all of the energy to her fingertips and touched Lue on the forehead, just as she had done with so many before him. She focused on his mind, Lue's language processing centers of the brain -- she could almost see the neural networks behind his forehead and his ear, trying to process everything since they had met for this training. Valerys implanted in him that he could not speak about anything that had happened that night since they met. Lue wondered at the technique and Valerys said, "Yes, but we have to see if it worked." Lue tried to talk about what the were doing on that night, but found that his mouth could not express the words. Valerys asked him to draw a picture.

Rarilue got down in the sand and tried to draw a picture of him and Valerys spending their night together, training, and she found that he was able to do it. He also drew a picture of himself, with an X where his mouth should have been. "Oh no, that won't do," Valerys said, "We're going to have to make sure that I perform the technique better than that." She formed the handseals again and this time she touched Lue on the shoulder, pouring all of the chakra on that side of her body into him -- letting it swarm up him and into his brain. The brain ate it hungrily, having already been slightly used from the first time. Valerys once again targeted the language centers of the brain and informed them to avoid this night and speaking of it, and specifically imagined the drawings. She knew this time she would have to dig deeper into the brain.

Valerys let her chakra storm his mind and then Lue seemed a bit defeated, as if his resistance had faded. "Try to draw a picture now," Valerys invited. Lue got down in the sand again and tried to draw his images from before, but found that now they did not work. "Oh wow," Lue said and wondered at the technique. "Indeed," Valerys said and smiled. She then helped Lue up and said, "You know, Lue, all my life I've been evil. Completely and irrevocably confined to an existence as a killer and manipulator." Lue looked at her shocked. "Huh?" As she was saying this Valerys was preparing the technique to try again, and just make sure Lue could really not tell anyone about what she was saying. "Oh yeah," Valerys went on, "I've killed tons of people." She began to list them off and touched Lue again, sending her chakra into his brain and holding him as she let her powers erase his ability to defend himself.

After Valerys had told Lue the truth about herself and forbidden him from telling anyone, he ran away -- horrified at what she had done. Valerys felt bad, but she needed at least one of their friends to know the truth about her. As she was walking through the desert that night, she suddenly saw a pale woman with black hair, wearing a white dress, standing among the sand dunes. Valerys moved up to her and asked, "What are you doing?" The woman looked at her, reached out and took her hand and said, "You aren an evil person. A cruel uncaring individual." Valerys snatched her hand back, alarmed at what she said. "I have discovered all of this just as you will," the pale girl informed her, "through serious training which will allow you touch touch someone, and instantly know all of their personality." Valerys wondered at the skill and the fact that this girl was going to teach her the technique. "And who are you?"

"You can call me Kimmi, although my real name is much longer. This is a soulcaster technique. You will need to call upon the power of your soul in order to charge your hand, and see through the illusions of the material world." Valerys listened to Kimmi and began reaching deep within herself, looking for that powerful soul energy that she knew she possessed. The evil energy began to travel down her arm and into her right hand, infecting every finger like a virus as it moved on over her entire palm. After she was done, Valerys reached forward her hand toward Kimmi and said, "Do you want to shake my hand now?" Valerys smiled at her, not giving away how well she had done. Kimmi reached out for Valerys' hand and she let her soul energy wash over the two of them, completing taking over and merging with Kimmi's own hand.

Valerys' chakra began to move around Kimmi's and seemed to take a sample of it, drawing it back into her own body and her own soul. As her soul fed on this new energy, she forced it to interpret it and get a sort of "taste" for the alignment that controlled this soul. Suddenly Valerys opened her eyes large as the technique worked and she suddenly understood. "You are also neutral evil." Kimmi just smiled at her and said, "Now you will be able to use this technique on good individuals and find out their nature, it is a useful technique. When you use it again, making sure that you have hidden your assassment within your touch -- never letting anyone know what you are doing." Valerys continued messing with the energy in her palm as she studied the technique and reached up to touch Kimmi's hand one more time, making sure that it was working properly.
