Waru had been traveling since early morning. She moved at a comfortable pace, allowing herself adequate time to absorb in the beauty of the nation Hi no Kuni. As she transverse through the lush fields of the nation, she found herself veering off the path of the main roads and deeper into the forest. She eventually found herself lost in the woods but disregarded any attempts to find her way. The woman was spellbound by the beauty of the land and was compelled to continue exploring the land. After a couple of minutes of roaming the forest. She spotted something in the distance that caught her eye. Curious, she headed towards it hoping to find something of interest.
Lost in the woods was an old hovel ravaged by time and overgrown with vegetation. The old building was surrounded by large trees that had taken root here centuries ago and had time to grow strong and tall from the fertile soil of the land. Behind the old home was a body of water that branched off into a small stream, spilling further into the woodland. Above the small lake was a waterfall that rolled off the cliff side into it. It seemed the waterfall had some debris blocking its flow near the mouth, as only a bit of water managed to trickle through. She rushed to the old home calling out to any occupants that may reside inside. With no response, she moved into the old home finding it barren of life and little furniture the previous attendants left behind. After a quick snoop around the old building, she returned outside the house moving towards what looked to be the remains of an old fire pit. Collapsing onto one of the old sitting stones she took a moment to catch her breath. The fatigue of her journey was finally catching up with her.
After taking a moment to absorb in the area, she decided this would be a nice place to set up camp for a few days. It would provide an interesting challenge to see if she could get this place back into shape while training her body. Not wanting to waste any time she leaped back onto her feet and headed towards the back of the house. There she found a pile of lumber that needed chopping for the pit. She looked around the area in hopes to find something to assist her with chopping the wood. However, despite her best efforts, she had no luck finding one. With no other options, she decided to craft her own axe with Ice Weapon. After a quick series of handseals a smooth icicle appeared in her hands taking the shape of a woodcutters axe. Satisfied with her creation, she began to set up the first logs to be chopped by the old chopping post behind the house.
Raising the ice axe above her head, she sent her weapon crashing down onto the piece of wood. The axe split the wood into logging itself in the stump. With a bit of effort and placing her foot on the stump, she removed the stuck axe from the stump to reset her actions. Placing another log onto the stump she reset herself sending the axe crashing down into the center of the log once again. She felt her body ache after the second swing due to her early traveling with rest. She brushed the sweat the began to form on her forehead off, setting up for the next chop.
By the fifth log, her body began to ache to feel the fatigue of her travel finally taking hold. It would have been a good idea to rest before trying to perform household chores around the old place. But she viewed it as a challenge and another way to toughen her frail petite body. Find herself overheating from excess work, she removed her sweater tossing it to the side. Placing another piece of wood onto the stump, she quickly rose the axe into the air only to quickly drop it down onto the stump. However, due to her fatigue, she missed her target slicing the edge of the wood and logging the axe into the stump once again. This time she found it a bit difficult to remove the axe from the stump using her whole body weight to remove the axe this time. Resetting once again she took careful aim to hit the center of the stomp by taking practice swings at it. The more she performed the motion to chop the wood, the more her body tensed up, screaming in pain to rest. But she fought through the pain and managed to split the log in two.
Placing the axe on the ground she retrieved all the firewood she had chop and tried to carry it in one trip. She felt the splinters of the old wood dig themselves into her arms as she tried to carry the whole lot. Her arms ached in pain from swinging the axe and even managed to stumble a bit as she walked the haul to the front of the house by the old pit. Finally managing to make it to the old pit, she dropped the load of firewood off to the side stretching out her body to shake away the aches and pain.
