The Catalyst
The Catalyst is a specialized location designed to aid in many pursuits ranging from knowledge, crafting, alchemy, and botany. The facility itself is carved into a mountain and many of its features are made of the natural stone, metals, and crystals from the mountain. The entryway on the North side also serves the facility holding a wealth of knowledge on many Skills as well as General things.
Past the Library lies the bulk of the facility which is the open Common Areas that make up the hallways which encircle a multitude of Biomes of every type to allow visitors to grow herbs in an appropriate environment. At the center of these biomes sits a large Courtyard for periods of rest while encircled by the different scenes of nature.
Continuing past the central area to the South section of the facility lies a large area of Barracks. While not made for comfort, these are provided for the shinobi who wish to spend long periods of time at The Catalyst to further their craft. The Barracks are also connected to personal Basic Bathrooms, while not very extravagant they serve their purpose of providing a Long Rest.
On the North-West Corner of the facility lies a Dining Hall and Fancy Kitchen so that those spending time in The Catalyst can eat without having to leave for long periods. The Kitchen heated by the lava of the adjacent forge to the South.
On the South-West side of the facility lies the forge of The Catalyst. Making up the bulk of this section of the facility are two sets each of Perfected Workplaces, Perfected Smithys, and Lava Forges. With the great amount of work space and equipment, The Catalyst's forge is renown within the Land of Earth and rumors have spread even further.
Finally, the East side of the facility is made up entirely of labs and equipment towards more refined pursuits. The northern section adjoins to the Library with a wide Luxury Study allowing a place to do research. The entirety of the lab is made of the equivalent of two Perfected Alchemical Laboratories, two Fancy Chakra Laboratories, and a Ritual Circle placed in a special walled off section near the center.

Description: This open room contains up to 10 simple wood beds with mattresses. A small footlocker sits at the end of each bed for personal belongings. This component includes a privy, though it need not be attached or adjacent to the barracks itself. A barracks can hold 10 people (usually guards or soldiers). If you need a greater capacity, you can purchase this component multiple times. If you want a higher class of quarters for officers, purchase bedroom components instead.

Lush vines laden with savory tomatoes grow alongside mandrake root, ephedra, and even more esoteric herbs. A single Biome is dedicated to a single region. It gives the temperature, and living conditions similar to that Region in order to give prime conditions of re-growing plants. Every person using this Biome and having its resources will receive a +20 Circumstance bonus to Agriculture checks.

Courtyard, Luxury

Effect: An unroofed area that is completely or mostly enclosed by the walls of a large building.

Description: This well-appointed courtyard is paved entirely with smoothly cut flagstones. A massive fountain forms the centerpiece, in which water pours endlessly from a masterfully carved statue dedicated to the higher power of the builder’s choice. Statuary is placed tastefully throughout the area, and cushioned benches (usually of iron or fine wood trimmed with gold) are scattered about the place. At the builder’s option, such a courtyard can be roofed, although this should be at least 20 feet above the floor. The roof can be made of reinforced glass, wood, or whatever. Anyway, portions of the roof can be screwed open to let in fresh air and sunshine, or closed to keep out inclement weather. Purchase this component multiple times if you want a larger courtyard.

Effect: A specialized forge used to help people craft metal items.

Description: This room consists of the usual elements of a forge with the exception that all tools used are of masterwork quality. In the place of an ordinary forge is a lava forge. The lava forge draws up lava from deep underground, allowing blacksmiths to craft metal items and equipment more easily.
This appears to be an ordinary forge, except that the material within is molten rock as opposed to coals and fire. This allows blacksmiths to work metals at much higher temperatures, giving them greater control over their creations. The lava forge reduces the time required to make a metal item by +1 (Example: Base Crafting time is 1/3rd of item cost. This Forge improves crafting time by +1 making it 1/4 of item cost). This bonus is circumstance bonus. This forge may be accompanied by a Smithy Room.

Description: Floor-to-ceiling glass-fronted cabinets with top-hinged doors keep the books here in pristine condition. The ladders slide along on wheels and rails for both safety and convenience. The marble floor has symbols inlaid that denote the section of the library in which you stand. The library includes two private study carrels and a number of smaller tables. A single large table allows a researcher more space to spread out texts or large maps. This library can hold up to 6 different lots of books on specific subjects. A book lot costs 250,000 Ryo and provides a +20 circumstance bonus on a specific Academia skill. Alternatively, the user can purchase a book lot of general topics, which costs 250,000 Ryo and provides a +10 circumstance bonus on all Academia checks. A book lot cannot be forged, nor crafted.

The walls of this place is covered with blackboards upon which all sorts of obscure notes can be scrawled. The floor is made of rough tile, all the easier to clean chemical spills off while not being too slick to cause slips in such situations. The room includes four basins, each which has a barrel (Barrel, Large (Overview)) of water suspended over it, complete with a tap to permit easy access at all times. An emergency barrel (Barrel, Large (Overview)) mounted on a hinged platform can be tilted to pour water over a person in case of emergency. A single Alchemist using this laboratory and having its resources all to himself receives a +100 circumstance bonus to their Alchemy. Alternatively, up to 4 alchemists can share this space at the same time, and they each receive a +80 circumstance bonus on their Alchemy skill.
