He had no reason to want to die yet, there was still far too much for him to do, things that needed learning, tinkering with and figuring out. With that thought in mind, Hamura reached for his Tanto while arming his other hand with a kunai, wielding a bladed weapon on both hands as he got into a somewhat lowered stance. Prepared to dash or leap in whatever direction he might need to, he waited for the man to make a move, his own counter heavily depending on whatever happened next. Deciding whether he would skewer the man or allow him to live after this, that too depended entirely on what would go down next.
Watching closely as the man reached for his waist, his body told him that something was amiss. Moving back instinctively, he barely managed to evade the last of the three men that were being escorted by the hired muscle lunging at him with a dagger. As he moved back, he spun around on his left leg while burying the kunai he held in his off-hand into his shoulder. Severing a muscle in the act, the man was forced to drop his dagger as he ran off while crying in pain. Having no time to go after him as the hired muscle made his move, having seemingly used the temporary distraction caused by the flanking attack.
By the time Hamura could react to it, the man already had one hand full of senbon while holding three shuriken with the other hand. Throwing needles at him in twos, the man was spinning and twisting on his feet as he mixed in a shuriken in an attempt to catch Hamura off guard. Using his own agility in order to evade most of the projectiles, he swatted one of the shuriken away with his Tanto before using his blink ability to cross a fair distance and get that much closer to his adversary. From what he could tell, this person was really well trained at the art of throwing and killing, which would became even more clear to him soon.
