This thread is for the Halloween token event. This thread is open to all. I would like to request that PvP combat does not occur. Fighting against the monster is all right. The IIC time is 48 hours.

Name: Banish the banshee.

Objective: Kill or chase away the banshee.
Description: A farmer's widow north-east of Kumogakure no Sato has sent a distress call. Two of their bulls have been killed in the span of a week. In addition, they have heard creepy wailing at night. The Raikage suspect the culprit is a banshee. Your job is to get rid of the banshee before it attacks the farming family.
Shinobi requirement: A Chuunin or Jounin with max three Genins.
Reward: 66,666 ryo.

The mission takes place in the farmlands north-east of Kaminari no Kuni. Several farmers have settled here to make their living. The large fields create a perfect environment for living creatures.
Sheep, goats, horses as well as cows have plenty of room. Children can run around freely without worry. Or can they....?

This time of the year should be a nice time for the farmers. It is a time for harvest for starters. Everyone living at the farms must participate in order to get the goods out.
Furthermore, a number of animals are slaughtered. This brings us to the mission we're about to take.

A woman lost her husband five months ago due to illness. But that's not all. She lost two bulls last week. Both were old and up for slaughter. The wailing sounds at night makes things a lot more creepy. Especially for her sons, who are not teenagers yet.

What is going on at this farm? Who or what is behind these grotesque murders? It is time to investigate...

Zuruel scratched his nose. All manner of scents seemed to be assaulting his senses. Manure, fresh vegetables and most important of all… The stench of death. Prowling the cornfields alone, the Kedoin’s eyes shifted from side to side as he inspected the vegetation for any signs of damage. If a creature was hiding somewhere, then most likely, it’d be within this tall maze of green and yellow. The only question was, would it put up a decent fight? Having just slain all manner of undead in the Land of Earth, he was in desperate need for a challenge. Licking his lips, he pat himself down. His only items appeared to be a single sheathed katana held in his left hand and standard black clothing kept hidden under a large knee-length dark grey cloak. However, numerous seals littered the man's forearms - suggesting he was far more heavily armed than appearances would first dictate. Snapping his fingers, a pitch-black flute appeared in his right hand which he immediately began playing. A Inspiring Melody erupted from the instrument - alerting all to his presence.

'Ergh. This stinks' thought the female when she spotted some cow dung nearby. Her activated ryuugan did not make things any better.
Suddenly, the sound of a flute caught her attention. Her ice blue eyes closed while her ears tried to detect the source.

It appeared to come from the corn field. Marii put on her goggles to see who it was. A familiar frame popped up after a quick scan.
She checked her surroundings prior to approaching the younger male. The young woman tried to move as quiet as possible.

She was wearing her old winter mission uniform. It consisted of a navy blue kimono top, a soft purple obi plus black trousers. On her feet were a pair of boots.
The Raikage was wearing her hitai-ate around her forehead. Her hands were covered with black gloves.

On her left hip was a hip pouch. 6 kunais, 15 hira shurikens, 2 smoke grenades, 2 hikari bombs, a multi-tool, 2 thermal capsules, 2 speedy healing herbs, 11 exploding tags and 40 senbons were inside. Her goggles were already put on her face.
Her knife pouch held two kunais. Both of the namihage knives were fastened inside her obi.

She did some quick handseals when she was 100 feet away from Zuruel. He would hear a whisper in his head very soon.
'Hello Zuruel-san. I'm glad to see you're here. Don't worry - this is a genjutsu' started the female.

'I'm going to talk with the widow. That should give us a better idea what we're up against. In addition, that should explains the shinobis in her cornfields' informed the brunette.
The last sentence had an amused tone to it. This mission should be fun.

“Oh?” Zuruel blinked as the voice filled his head. If not for the explanation, he’d have assumed it was his enhanced hearing picking up on a whisper from a distance. Dropping his flute, it vanished back into the seal on his wrist with a puff of smoke. “Lovely. Does this work both ways? …Probably not.” He thought to himself while snickering slightly. He could only assume the fact that he had been targeted by a Genjutsu suggested that the Raikage had vision on him despite the dense greenery in all surrounding directions. As a sign that he had understood the message, he gave a slight nod while raising his hand in the air in a ‘thumbs up’ gesture.

In the meantime, he continued his search. Shinobi in the cornfields were the least of the widow’s worries if what he suspected was true. Utilising the blunt sheath of his katana as a walking stick, Zuruel gently pushed aside the plant life with each step he took forwards to avoid causing any unnecessary damage to the crops with his slow movements. It only took a few moments from that point onward. Perhaps a minute at best. “Well now…” He licked his lips as his hearing caught the sound of a distant wailing. Which direction did it come from? It was difficult to tell – but he drew his katana regardless. Even if the foe was still quite some distance away, this would signal to the Raikage that he was on a trail.

'Awesome! Looked like my jutsu worked!' observed the female when she saw his hand gesture. Her small body weaved through the taller corn plants like a shadow.
It did not take long for her to reach the farmhouse. Marii knocked on the door to signal her arrival.

A woman in her late thirties opened the door. Her brown eyes looked at her with curiosity.
"Hello. My name is Marii. Are you the woman who sent in a mission regarding the dead bulls?" inquired the young woman.

"Yes, I am. Thank Kami you are here. That creature has been bothering me for nine days now" told the widow.
"I am happy to be of service. Do you mind telling me when and were you hear the wailing?" asked the Raikage.

"The wailing usually starts around 7:30 or 8 PM. It usually last for an hour or so. I do not hear anything when I get up at 6 AM to milk the cows" started the female.
"As for direction...it started at the bottom right of the field. But it has moved to the left part now" continued the farmer.

She pointed in the direction where the wailing came from. It was roughly 100 feet to the right for the male in hiding.
"Understood. Is there any type of jutsus we can't use apart from fire jutsus?" inquired the brunette.

"I don't want any jutsus that can damage the crop. Jutsus that makes it extremely cold or damages the crop are a no-go.
I am a bit vary of explosives too. That may wake up the kids or scare the animals in the barn" stated the woman. Her voice was quite strict.

Said barn was at the 20 feet on the left side of the farmhouse. "Noted. Thank you for your help. We'll do what we can to get rid of that creature" promised the young woman. The widow gave her a grateful smile before she closed the door.

'The widow does not want us to use katon, hyouton or fuuton jutsus that can damage the crop. Make sure you don't use loud jutsus or explosives' informed the female.
She lifted her goggles for a moment to see what time it was. According to her wristwatch, it was 07:35 PM.

'Let the party begin' thought the Raikage with a grim smile. She started to move towards the left part of the field. Her hand slid the goggles back on.
'I guess I need to use suiton, genjutsu or taijuts-'. A wail suddenly cut through the air like a frosty wind.

Kimimarue sighed as he adjusted his gear on the way to the mission. He was late for the meeting up and hated to miss this. He made sure his vest was secure, that each loader was in good condition. He adjusted the sheathed Tonfas at his back, made sure the chain was secure on his back. He stopped for a second and adjusted his greaves and gauntlets. Kimi pulled his hood down as this was a team mission he didn't want to be mistaken for an enemy. 

As he neared the farm he stopped and paid attention to his surroundings. He had to find the others quickly, plus most of the ones coming where alot stonger than he was. If he didn't hurry and locate them he wouldn't get any part of this mission. He expanded each of his sense as he waited trying to not to miss anything.

Description: Aeroglass Identification: Average; Hardness: 7; Armour Points/Inch: 12; Armour Class: -4. Non Magnetic Material. Aeroglass is a light, strong glass containing small amounts of adamantine and numerous minute air bubbles. It is sometimes found as slag floating on top of lava in active volcanoes. Not as strong as steel per unit volume, it has hardness 7 and 12 Armour Points per inch of thickness; an equivalent volume of aeroglass weighs only 1/5 as much as steel. Weapons made of aeroglass are always masterwork. Due to their light weight, they gain an additional +1 additional attack in 1 movement per round while using a weapon made of Aeroglass, though this bonus does not stack with any enchantment bonus. [Skulking Shinzu]

Zuruel’s ears twitched as he picked up on the conversation between Marii and the woman. Even from this distance, he could hear their every word – although it took some degree of focus which the swaying crops seemed to distract from. “Nine days, eh?” Plenty of days for the creature to wreak havoc. More importantly, plenty of days to feed and grow stronger. This was going to be an interesting fight. Snickering, he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth to unleash a wave of echolocation. A faint blue outline of everyone in the area immediately presented it to himself, including the direction the woman pointed at and the arrival of a newcomer. A Shinobi most likely judging by the shape of his equipment.

“There.” He nodded to himself as he began to head towards the right. He didn’t bother with stealth or anything else of the sort. If anything, he wanted the creature to find him, as evident with his confident stride. As he casually walked towards the location with katana in hand, Marii’s telepathic voice once again presented itself to him and acted as a useful recap for any details missed. There seemed to be a lot of emphasis on not destroying the crops. “Annoying.” He thought to himself. If there was anything that’d stop him from cutting lose, then that would be it. However, before he could curse at his luck any further, a ghostly wailed alerted his senses to the presence of… something. “So, echolocation can’t pick it up? Interesting.” He licked his lips while tightening his pale fingers around the handle of his weapon. Where was it?

Her bony fingers turned on the night vision on her goggles. 'My ryuugan should be able to pick up that creature any moment' thought the female. She knew that her companion was battle ready by now.
Suddenly, there was some movement on the further left. Marii hid behind a small stone while remaining quiet.

A chill ran down her spine. Her goggles saw an outline of a female silhouette 120 feet ahead of her! Said silhouette had ragged clothes plus hip-long hair.
'I doubt that is the battle for Zuruel-san uses. It must be the banshee!' concluded the Raikage.

'I have found the banshee. It is 120 feet ahead of me. I believe it is 100 feet right behind you Zuruel-san.
I will use a soul or fuuton jutsus against her. If she gets close, I will use a throwing jutsu' informed the female.

She tried her best to remain calm. The brunette knew she was not alone. Furthermore, this creature was alone.

Description: Also known as Groaning Spirit, or Nightwraith. The Banshee or Groaning spirits are in the world the spirits of women. Some say they merely portend death by their eerie wailing, but others swear that these spirits actually kill. The only thing that is certain is that death follows in their wake. Most Banshees will appear as an old hag with long streaming hair, dressed in a gray cloak over a green dress. Her eyes are fiery red from constant weeping and wailing. In some instances, Banshees have been known to appear as beautiful women. It is said that when more than one Banshee join together in wailing, they foretell the death of someone very great or powerful. The mere sight of a Banshee causes fear unless a successful save vs fear (Fortitude 15) roll is made. Failure means the victim will flee in terror for 10 rounds and is 50% likely to drop any items he was carrying. Any creature within 15 meters of the banshee when it wails must make a successful save vs Death (Fortitude 19) or die immediately with their face twisted in horror. Banshees can only wail in this manner once per night. They cannot appear in daylight. The mere touch of a groaning spirit causes 40 Armour Points of Negative Energy Damage that bypasses hardness and natural armour. Banshees are non-corporeal and immune to weapons of less than Masterwork. They are 50% resistant to Chakra, Immune to Charm, Sleep and Hold Jutsus, as well as Cold and Electrical attacks. Holy water does 8 Armour Points of Damage. Performing the Dispel Evil will destroy them. These spirits can sense living beings in a 5-mile radius. Banshees turn as "special" undead. It is said that if one captures Banshee who appears to foretell a death, she is forced to reveal the name of the doomed. Banshees make their homes in desolate countryside, near streams, ruins, rural areas, or in the hills. They also haunt ancient ruins, hiding by day, wandering by night. Their territories are often strewn with the bones of victims. These spirits speak numerous languages. Banshees create blight wherever they settle. Their only pleasure is the misfortune and misery of others. Any vegetation near a Banshee's lair will die and be replaced by numerous twisted thorn bushes. Occasionally, Banshees appear to seek revenge on adversaries they had in life.
Yields: When a Banshee dies they turn to dust. This dust is called Specter Dust. 2 cups of Specter Dust can be collected per Banshee. By using an infusion process the Specter Dust from a Banshee can be used to create Dark Essence. This process takes 2 hours to complete. Every 2 cups of Specter Dust creates 1 cup of Dark Essence. Zuruel and Marii resist the Fear effect!

“Tricky little hag.” Zuruel cursed under his breath as the Raikage revealed the creature’s location. Was it floating in mid-air? No wonder he didn’t hear the approach of footsteps. The lack of a breath and heartbeat made it completely immune to the Kedoin’s hearing too. Grimacing, he turned to face the monstrous being, only for its horrendous visage to strike up a moment of hesitation in his blood. A fear-inducing technique? Worthless. Zuruel had ways of resisting those – although it appeared, he wouldn’t need to. Through his own sheer willpower and might, he managed to break free from whatever hold the Banshee had on him.

Breaking out into a swift dash, Zuruel closed the gap until only about 70 feet separated him from his opponent. Moving as a swift blur, his body would only come into view as he hit his targeted distance and skidded to a halt, during which he simultaneously ripped his fiery katana free from its sheath. With the Thermal Enhancement triggered, the blade unleashed a vortex of fiery wind from its movements that threatened to hack the Banshee into pieces while also inflicting Fire-based damage. This would be a good measure of how durable it was, as well as an opportunity to slow it down while Marii performed her actions.

Once expertly crafted by a mortal named Ryutatsu, the blade has since been used to slay a great and terrifying fire Wyrm, the blood of which tainted and eroded the weapon – requiring its cursed and warped metal to be reforged by the original smith into an item of Legendary status.

Special: Tendrils of dense volcanic smoke constantly obscure the weapon from view; masking all of its details and protecting it from Divination Jutsus, Rituals, and Items as if the user was constantly under the effect of non-detection. On command, twice per day the wielder can empower the specs of volcanic ember to unleash a brilliant light. When activated, all creatures within a 6m radius of the user are blinded for 1 round. Bearing an affinity to the Blood Bonded wielder, Firestorm’s Despair can hold and channel a single Touch-based Jutsu at a time; and the volcanic smoke twisting around the weapon can be utilised to increase its striking distance by 2m once per day.

Drawback: Creatures that are more than 1 alignment step away from the user are sickened while using, holding, or wearing this item. Blood Bonded to Zuruel, the spirit of Solerius will only allow the weapon to be held by the Kedoin himself or members of his bloodline. If disarmed, Solerius will return the weapon to Zuruel’s hand at a speed of 20m per second unless something can prevent the entity from doing so. Bearing a twisted sense of loyalty to the man that slaughtered it, anyone attempting to wield Firestorm’s Despair other than Zuruel or those loyal to him must make a Fortitude Save of 20 or else Solerius will force the weapon to leap from the wielder’s hand. Even if the possessor can stave off this struggle, Solerius’s subjugation will prevent the weapon from harming Zuruel and his comrades in any shape or form. Weapon damage will decrease by -2 if the Spirit Amber embedded inside the hilt is destroyed and by a further -2 if the weapon is not sharpened with Jorga's Whetstone each week.

Description: Starting at “D” class, a soulcaster can assault the soul of another. This attack is a 15 meter ray of soft blue light. The user attacks one person by extending their arm out. This attack hits the insides of the user, affects their very life force. At first, it doesn't cause much damage. However, the more the user learns, the deadlier the technique becomes. The attack leaves no physical damage, but creates internal damage against the user's life line. People said it feels like having a heart attack while having lost of breathe. Each time learned the user is capable of shooting this technique five meters extra. Technique may travel 10 meters per second plus five meters per class level.
Cap of this technique is 200 meters. Capping increases damage by an extra five armour points. If the target is undead, the soulcaster assaults the tethers that bind the body to the material plane, inflicting half the damage instead. This attack has no effect on constructs.

[Skulking Shinzu]

Zuruel blinked while scratching the back of his head with his free hand in a rather apologetic manner. It had taken him the sum total of three seconds to completely forget about the crops and the warning against using Fire Jutsu. Luckily for him, the source of the heat was from his blade’s Thermal Enhancement. At best, it was more super-heated wind pressure than anything else. A couple crops would have their tips slightly singed – but nothing more than superficial damage he hoped. “Gotcha.” He nodded. There was no time to worry. The Raikage was about to unleash her Jutsu.

70 feet still separated him from his target. Knowing this and the hint that was given to him about the ‘soul-based’ attack, Zuruel had a feeling he knew what Marii was about to unleash. This theory was confirmed as she unleashed a familiar beam of pale-blue light. An attack very similar to Lady’s. Spotting this, the Kedoin remained stationary and decided against closing the gap between himself and the foe any further. Not even his defences could withstand a soul-based attack. It was better to wait patiently than risk being caught in the crossfire. Although, not without action. Whistling, Zuruel prepared a Bard Jutsu which he’d immediately unleash in reduced time the moment the Searing Soul struck the banshee.

Fire was no good and most of his Wind techniques carried too much slicing potential to be used near any fragile crops. Bard techniques, however, were something he was frighteningly accurate with. Yelling, Zuruel unleashed a thunderous soundwave that would emit a noise akin to an explosion ripping through the earth and decimating all along the way. Strangely, Marii would observe that despite the power the chaotic melody carried, it would not harm any plant life along the way. Instead, Chakra seemed to carry it gently along the path where it would only trigger at the banshee’s location - harming the creature internally and leaving it stunned in a oozing mess of bodily liquids tinted a grotesque and rotting colour.

The creatures must pass a roll of one hundred with a thirty or higher or they will suffer a B rank of internal damage as well. Any object caught in this blast will take an A rank worth of damage as well.

Due to the heavy drain of chakra from this it cannot be used multiple times per battle but if used correctly it can very much help a bard to gain an edge. The downside of this technique is the chosen target must be within fifty meters of the bard.

'I can't smell any popcorn. Looks like he knows what he's doing' observed the female. The younger male remained still as she performed her searing soul jutsu.
The banshee appeared a lot weaker compared to earlier. But it was still alive.

Marii noticed that Zuruel was preparing another jutsu. She decided to stay where she was for now. The young man suddenly started to sing a song.
However, this song was unfamiliar to the young woman. Yet somehow it sent shivers down her spine.

Her eyes widened when the banshee started to disintegrate. She noticed fluids emerge from the mouth of the creature. 'Euuurgh' thought the brunette while she pulled a face.
She picked up two kunais once the jutsu hit. It was time to send the banshee back to where it came from.

Her chakra fuelled eyes plus her goggles made it easier for her to aim her kunais. 'I'll aim the first kunai on the center of its head. The second one can go into its chest' decided the female.
She threw both kunais in quick succession when the banshee was unable to move. That would increase the chance of a direct hit.

Most Banshees will appear as an old hag with long streaming hair, dressed in a gray cloak over a green dress. Her eyes are fiery red from constant weeping and wailing. In some instances, Banshees have been known to appear as beautiful women. It is said that when more than one Banshee join together in wailing, they foretell the death of someone very great or powerful. The mere sight of a Banshee causes fear unless a successful save vs fear (Fortitude 15) roll is made. Failure means the victim will flee in terror for 10 rounds and is 50% likely to drop any items he was carrying. Any creature within 15 meters of the banshee when it wails must make a successful save vs Death (Fortitude 19) or die immediately with their face twisted in horror. Banshees can only wail in this manner once per night. They cannot appear in daylight. The mere touch of a groaning spirit causes 40 Armour Points of Negative Energy Damage that bypasses hardness and natural armour. Banshees are non-corporeal and immune to weapons of less than Masterwork. They are 50% resistant to Chakra, Immune to Charm, Sleep and Hold Jutsus, as well as Cold and Electrical attacks. Holy water does 8 Armour Points of Damage. Performing the Dispel Evil will destroy them. These spirits can sense living beings in a 5-mile radius. Banshees turn as "special" undead. It is said that if one captures Banshee who appears to foretell a death, she is forced to reveal the name of the doomed. Banshees make their homes in desolate countryside, near streams, ruins, rural areas, or in the hills. They also haunt ancient ruins, hiding by day, wandering by night. Their territories are often strewn with the bones of victims. These spirits speak numerous languages. Banshees create blight wherever they settle. Their only pleasure is the misfortune and misery of others. Any vegetation near a Banshee's lair will die and be replaced by numerous twisted thorn bushes. Occasionally, Banshees appear to seek revenge on adversaries they had in life.
Yields: When a Banshee dies they turn to dust. This dust is called Specter Dust. 2 cups of Specter Dust can be collected per Banshee. Vision and Mirage.

Type: Secondary, piercing/slashing twin knives connected by a wire.
Effect: An instrument composed of a blade fixed into a handle, used for cutting or as a weapon connected to a second by five meters of copper plated wire.
Special: Vision and Mirage combine light and darkness. One side Vision is a knife crafted from shineblade. Shineblade is an extremely rare fey metal that, when struck, sheds a purplish light that helps negate the concealment of hidden or obstructed creatures in a 10-meter radius. A creature wielding a weapon made from this material gains an immediate observation check to notice hidden creatures, with a fey wielder gaining a + 20 circumstance bonus on the check. If the character makes an attack against a revealed creature in the same round, the miss chance due to concealment is reduced by half (from a 20% miss chance to only 10% in most cases).
The other side is Mirage. A knife created to absorb light as vision was created to shed light. It was crafted with a non-magnetic material known as umbrite. Umbrite is a dark, dense metal of surprising hardness. While umbrite is no match for the hardness of mithral or adamantine, it is stronger than steel and easily among the most durable metals known. Beyond its capable performance as a metal, umbrite is remarkable for its light-absorbing qualities. Umbrite seemingly absorbs light at a slow rate, causing shadows around it to deepen considerably. In fact, veins of umbrite are often located by noting areas incurring a sudden loss of light. Strangely, umbrite is a relatively new discovery, having first been written about within the last 200 years. When the first reports of this material were made, they were dismissed as hallucinations produced by the subterranean gases. This may be one reason umbrite has remained unknown for so long. Umbrite is only found during mining operations for other ores or rare gems, and even more curiously, only in the deepest and darkest locales where few civilized folk venture. One sage has theorized that umbrite may well be a new material. Its appearance and location may be linked with the little-known fact that it only appears near large concentrations of the strange radiations that are said to grow through the underworld. Other learned folk have speculated that umbrite might be seepage from the plane of shadow. Many agree with this theory, since umbrite is only found in places of deepest darkness. Miners have long maintained that umbrite is an unlucky material and bodes ill. Stories abound of miners disappearing frequently after a vein of umbrite has been uncovered. Miners have considered it a nuisance material for decades, since until recently it was impossible to forge umbrite into any useful product. The underdark civilizations have begun vying to learn this secret and, more importantly, to gain control of umbrite mines of their own. Umbrite-forged items are immensely expensive. A forged umbrite item weighing one pound or more retains much of its light-absorbing properties. While wielding any umbrite item of one pound or more, the user gains a + 15 circumstance bonus against an observer’s observation check per armour piece. Shadows around them seem to be deeper and darker. This affects a two-meter area around the wielder and does not extend to others.
The copper plated wire is a non-magnetic material. Copper-plated objects take half damage from acid effects. Armour composed primarily of metal that is plated in copper confers to its wearer acid resistance + 5% per armour piece. Copper-plated armour or shields render the wearer more vulnerable to electricity attacks, however, either granting any attack against the wearer that deals electricity damage a +10 bonus to attacks while reducing saves by + 1. Copper-plated weapons that channel or that deal electricity damage deal 1 extra point of electricity damage per 6 armour points of electrical damage.

Description: A light weapon. These weapons do +18 armour points of damage. The range increment of this weapon is 5 meters. A knife has a blade that is about less than 1 foot in length. The user gains a + 10 bonus on sleight of hand skill to conceal a knife on their body. While the wire portion which is detachable does These weapons do + 18 armour points of damage. Wire is a single, usually cylindrical, flexible strand or rod of metal. Wires are used to bear mechanical loads and to carry electricity and telecommunications signals. Wire is commonly formed by drawing the metal through a hole in a die or draw plate. Standard sizes are determined by various wire gauges. When using wire over 1.2 m (1 to 4 feet), they are treated as a two-handed weapon. Wire under 1.2 m (1 to 4 feet) are treated as 1-handed weapons. Description: The second stage of the Kazeraikou doujutsu forces a temporary change of the user's eyes. The iris and pupil of the eye become one and change to a color decided at the first awakening depending on their mood. The color is like a cloud and swirls around the user's eye when looking around. Small lines of white will flash across the eyes like lightning bolts and continually do so as long as the eye is active. Also a slight glow of the eyes illuminate in the dark at this point. With the second stage of the ryuugan doujutsu unleashed, it allows the user to see the elements of lightning, air and water up to one's viewing parameters. One's natural sight is also enhanced giving the capability of 4 x zoom capabilities. The user sees the elements as three new, vibrant, and opaque colors that mesh perfectly with their normal vision, giving the user the ability to see the three elements without hindering their normal vision in the slightest. Of course normal vision can hinder this special sight, as the user cannot see through walls or other things as normal.

[Skulking Shinzu]

In a rather grotesque sound, a ‘splat’ was picked up by Zuruel’s keen sense of hearing as the first of Marii’s kunais stabbed itself into the creature’s forehead and the second into its chest. Both seemed embedded rather deep, but the stunned creature continued to display sounds of life. “Undead… How annoying.” Suddenly, the Kedoin vanished. In a series of rapid Shunshin, Zuruel blurred away from his original position in a puff of black smoke before reappearing directly in front of the injured banshee.

Another grotesque squelch echoed into the air as with a single horizonal sword swing, Zuruel decapitated the creature’s head. A visible look of discomfort made itself apparent on the Kedoin’s expression as he did so. The banshee’s body was soft. Even the bones felt like cutting into jelly. It felt so… unnatural. However, as Marii would soon learn, Zuruel was a cautious man. At the end of his sword swing, the blade arced back around and with a pivot of his feet and hips, the man unleashed a series of consecutive sword strikes at varying angles. By the time he was done, the creature’s body collapsed into a neat pile of rotting cubes.

[Marii K. Kazeraikou]

'YES! DIRECT HIT!' mentally exclaimed the female when her weapons made contact. However, the creature refused to die.
Her male mission partner suddenly disappeared. She blinked for a second while she tried to relocate him.

It took a mere second to find him. Zuruel now stood right in front of the injured banshee. One moment later, the undead creature was headless.
Marii watched him as he sliced up the banshee from different angles. His movements reminded her of Okuda.

She stood up a couple movements later. The young woman walked towards the other human once he was done attacking.
"Great job you did there Zuruel-san. I think its safe to say we killed it. We better find a safe way to dispose it" stated the Raikage.

"Since it's undead, we may have to burn up the remains. Or perhaps find an expert who knows how to deal with this" told the female. She picked up her kunais and cleaned them with a wet wipe from her bag.
The smell made her stomach twist itself. It reminded her of rotting garbage mingled with sulphur.

As the life left the hunks of rotting flesh, Zuruel's eyes shifted to the corner to catch a glimpse of Marii. As they made eye contact, his pupils flared red with soul energy, granting him a clear view of the woman. She was already staring at his figure. For how long? Had she been following his movements since the Shunshin was performed? He seemed impressed. "Naturally, I must thank you too. The undead are persistent but simple minded. One on one they can be a threat, but outnumbered, they can't deal with multiple attacks at once." Zuruel had learned that the hard way.

Zuruel then watched as Marii retrieved her kunai and proceeded to cleanse them with wipes. He took note of her meticulous action. It made sense a Kage would have such high levels of attention to detail. As for Zuruel, he much preferred the path of least effort. As he sheathed his katana, he triggered the ability of the metal to burst into flames. Contained within the sheath, nothing more than a flurry of tiny embers would spew out the weapon as the fiery intensity ate away at the contaminants from the undead. "I've found that fire is indeed the best cure for this blight... Although, controlled fires are not my forte." He chuckled. Despite being a assassin, he always did prefer wide area of effect attacks.

Marii remained silent as Zuruel burned up the remains of the banshee. Her eyes were on the crops to make sure they did not catch fire.
"I will go back to the farm house. I'm sure the widow would like to know what happened" told the young woman. She jogged towards the farm house after making sure the crops were fine.

The Raikage knocked on the door a couple times. The widow opened it a few moments later.
"Did you find out what it was?" inquired the older woman. "We did. The wailing you heard came from a banshee" replied the female.

"We killed it a few moments ago. My companion have used special sword technique on it. The technique will burn the flesh it comes in contact with.
The flames does not injure things it have not touched. My teammate made sure to not touch the corn" assured the brunette.

"Thank Kami-sama that you got rid of that creature. Give me a moment so I can sign the slip" told the widow. She pulled out a paper slip that laid on the shelf behind her.
The woman signed the slip and handed it to the female. "Have a good evening" told the widow.
