OOC:
Okay, just a couple misconceptions I want to clear up before we proceed.
There are only two attackers. Both covert operations members, I described one to be the one on the right that charged wearing armour and holding the halberd and all. Sorry if I wasn't straightforward enough in implying it, but the archer was in fact the second on the left.
"The other one had a quiver strapped to his back and a bow in his hands that he would begin to load as his pace slowed to a jog and he took aim."
There weren't two melee attackers charging and the archer didn't just magically appear 20 metres away and took aim. He ran alongside the pole-arm user stopping twenty-metres from Shango and Amatsumara to take aim while his partner continued the charge towards them. This is the most implied at the end of my post.
"However, being so occupied and blinded by his fury, the agent of vengeance failed to take note of the archer who had stopped twenty-metres from him and let his arrow fly at Amatsumara with uncanny precision just as the clash was about to occur."
My usage of the word "the" implies that the character has already been introduced, while "had stopped twenty-metres from him" further implies that he was the second attacker running alongside the first. My fault for the mix-up lol, sometimes I just need to remember I'm not the only one reading my posts.
Honestly though, nothing really changes as the chakra-blades reaches them while they were still charging together so the result is pretty much the same, except their is no ranged attacker.
There was a glazed look in Amatsumara's eyes as he watched the enemies in front of him quickly get sliced and diced by Sabre-Shango's blades of energy with some expert coordination and skill. Their conventional armaments, even enhanced by bit of chakra, were no match for the raw power of the genuine chakra-blade technique. The embers of hatred, malice and rage inside of him slowly waning but not quite extinguished.
If the members of the Covert Operations unit survived the first attack with the extension of the elastic-like chakra-blades, they were certainly no longer breathing by the time Sabre finished her explosive follow-up attack. Bits of brain-matter, flesh and pools of blood lay splayed and splattered all across the corridor like debris. It didn't bother Amatsumara much, only him thinking that it would be quite the nuisance to walk through. Regardless they needed to exit the corridor and get back to the courtyard if they wanted to locate his son; the chakra-signature emitting from the boy all to apparent to Sabre's pathfinder senses.
