Loki was about to answer the Mizukage's question when a familiar voice rung over her Witch watch. "Ah H-Hecate..I... ah... *sigh*... alright." Loki said as she shook her head. Hecate was like a spoiled child. Loki shrugged her shoulders, and continued to focus in on the energy that was building over her palm. As the energy continued to build, the sides of the the shape began to come into shape. It seemed as if Loki was going for a triangle shape with the barrier. The awkard shape didn't seem to bother her in the least as the the threads continued to weave in and out of each other.

As the shape of the small barrier she was creating began to come into focus, she turned her attention over towards Jormungandr for a moment he seemed to be rather antsy. For good reason she would assume. As she looked over at Jormundgandr she held out her free hand, and ass she did so a barrier appeared to the side of Jormungandr. "You look tense, go relieve some stress, sweet heart." Loki said to her son. He nodded his head, "Yes mother..." He walked closer to thee barrier, and then began to prod at the barrier.

It seemed much stronger than it usually was, did she already improve in such a small amount of time. Jormungandr looked over his shoulder at his mother, and clenched his fist a little bit. He was proud that his mother was so strong and talented, but it felt like the gap between them was widening. He reeled back and punched the barrier with all he had and it didn't even leave a dent in the creation. He gripped his fist harder and as he did so, the power of his judgements began to well up inside of him. As the judgements build, he could feel something stirring in him.

"I am Loki. However, Dye is not my Surname. Senri-LeFaye is. As far as being a Leaf ninja. LeFaye, have no business in the ninja world, so I removed myself from it. Though I still have ties to the village. I am the leader of a coven... the first coven. However, Alleve's Hallow, is not the Haven for said coven. Although I suppose you could say that it is. But that is not it's purpose. Alleve's has been around long before me, or even the world of ninja, and my Grandmother is it's owner."

Loki answered without hesitation. She was at a point in her life where she feared nothing and no one. And the only reason there was left for her to lie, was to have a little fun at someone else's expense. As Loki answered her questions. Jormungandr was still busy punching the barrier, as he was filling something in his judgements beginning to stir. When he looked within himself he could see that another orb was beginning to form. However, this seemed a bit more unstable then the others. He smirked a bit to himself as he was sure that he had reached the maximum amount of Judgements he can command.

It seemed that he was wrong. He looked over at the Kirin that was with Yoko. As his judgements began to shine off of his person, he could feel the need for him to test himself against something more... mobile rise. He stared the Kirin down, "Wanna Play? I known you understand me." He said to the Kirin with a smile on his face. Hopefully the mystical beast was in just as excitable a mood as he was. Nex Looked down at Jormungandr, and shook her head. He was a wild child. The judgment energy continued to shine off of him, as Nex interjected, "No need to worry about any damage. I'll heal the kiddies if they play too rough."

Yoko carefully listened and—perhaps more importantly—observed Loki's actions, it seemed that she was quite the busy woman: crafting some sort of miniature barrier, engaging in a conversation, and supervising a growing child who was actually a dragon-like creature. Then again, Yoko hardly had it any easier, she merely used a clone to assist her in her endeavour. For while Yoko continued to listen to Loki her shadow clone continued to maintain a vigilant watch over the surrounding area for suspicious activities.

It seemed that she was rather forthcoming with information regarding herself, the coven she ran, and her village. Perhaps too forthcoming, was part of this a lie? Yoko observed her through the statement looking for small changes in body language that indicated whether someone was lying. One thing was clear, Loki was confident in her ability to beat Yoko? She told her all of this information so willingly after all.

“Interesting.” Yoko carefully considered what she should say next, she knew of at least dragonkin within her village that had connections to Alleve's Hallow, another of her ninja had even gone there in order to undertake an exam of sorts. “So my Kirin companion caught your attention?” There wasn't that much to ask at the present time, Yoko had no connection to the coven, nor did she have any real desire to visit Alleve's Hallow. In fact, she knew little of the activities these witches, or witches in general undertook. Instead, she likened herself more to a druid than a witch, her bond was to the wild, to maintaining balance.

As things progressed the group's pipefox continued to observe—much like the actions of Yoko—of course, it maintained its humanoid form not quite ready to give the game away as to its true identity. Its keen observation skills and ability to sense the motivation of others were put to the test however upon seeing the pipefox that accompanied Loki, it would have dwarfed her had they both been in their true forms.

For in her true form she was only slightly larger than five inches in length: dwarfed by Loki's companion who seemed to be about five times as long, and many times thicker. Her eyes locked upon the other pipefox, carefully observing its movements and actions, it seemed that it possessed medical abilities of sorts? How much older was this pipefox? Yoko's companion was just a newborn, in terms of the fey at least, and had spent much of that time locked away, thus knew little of the world.

She was a keen learned however possessing the stereotypical thirst for knowledge that so many of their kind had. As for the art that she wanted to specialise on in the greater scheme of things, well she still had not decided on that. Did the need for a medic outweigh the need for a genjutsu user in a party that was predominately made up of taijutsu users? Perhaps through further observation of Loki's composition, the group as a whole could gain a better understanding of how they should adapt.

Perhaps this was a good opportunity for Barbas to engage in some training of his own. Especially with the prospect of receiving some healing if either party was injured. Perhaps the boy who was training was a similar power level to himself? If that was the case then the training would be far more favourable than sparring with Yoko. But what to practice. He had recently learned how to use a shield effectively, so perhaps working on his armiger skills would be an effective utilisation of his time?

With that, the Kirin transformed into a humanoid form and approached, shield in hand. Words did not need to be exchanged, rather the actions of the creature should have been sufficient to demonstrate what it was seeking to do, namely, improve its skill with a shield. Being able to hide behind a shield was one thing, but guarding several people at a time was another skill altogether and it was that skill that the Kirin was seeking to work on.

It moved forwards towards Jormungandr and lifted the shield locking itself into a guarding position. Its guard so far was not all that resistant, but was that not the point of training? With any luck, the dragon would take Barbas up on the offer and start to train with him as opposed to striking at Loki's barrier continually. And if either of them took damage? Well, it appeared that the pipefox in Loki's party was all too willing to heal Barbas back to normal. A win-win situation for both parties?

"Why would it not? A Kirin is a very mysterious creature. Usually a beast that fights for all that is righteous. It is extremely rare to see it with master. Although..." Loki's eyes looked over at the Pipefox that was hiding it's form. Loki's Sharigan could see through the chakra that made up the transformation jutsu on the creature in front of her.(sharigan + Observation or Sense Motive whichever vs it's disguise.) She could see the tiny pipefox underneath the facade. "It seems you have more than one creature of myth... and we seem to keep similar company."

As Loki spoke the threads of energy continued to twist and form, above her palm. The threads had begun to make up most of the wall of the Tenkai barrier and was slowly making it's way up into a tip. Though it seemed that it was still a bit of a ways from there. As the barrier continued to form, Loki could feel her own chakra control over the jutsu increasing greatly, the more that she split her attention, on the conversation, and on the tiny barrier that she was forming. Loki smiled at the Pipe fox, as Jormungandr ccontinued to beat on the side of the Barrier that Loki had formed.

It wass still quite powerful and he could see that the Kirin seemed to be getting ready for battle out of the corner of his eye. However, he would be remiss if he did not destory this barrier first. He looked intently into the barrier, as he continued to strike at it one location. He groaned when he saw that was going to be enough. He took a step back and cracked his neck. With a flick of his wrist two daggers, shoot out of his sleeves. However, said daggers would not be plainly visible to everyone, as they had long since been cursed with Ethereal Tempest.

Jormungandr than began to assualt the barrier with everything that he had. His image flickered in and out of sight as he attacked the barrier. The power that was present in the barrier was obvious, as well as the effort that Loki had been putting into her training, as well as the clear results. As he continued to attack his body began to grow, as he brought out the power of his judgement. He added more power to his physical attack. It wasn't long before the power of his judgement and his daggers over powered the barrier and shattered it. Nex let out a whistle, "That was faster than usual."

"I see you there... little creature hiding behind that facade. Why not come out and play? Let's see what you are." Loki said with a genuine smile on her face. As Loki said this Nex looked over towards Yoko's direction. It seemed there was another interesting creature lurking in this tiny thing's party. She didn't know why, but she was getting rather excited for some reason. Much more excited than she had been in quite some time. Jormongandr, felt Nex's jolt of excitement, but he had excitement of his own to focus on. The Kirin seemed to be ready, and it seemed to be a creature of few words.

"What's your name? I'm Jormungandr Senri-LeFaye." Jormungandr said with a smile on his face. As he spoke the rest of his dagger set began to spill out of his person and float around him, each of them not normally visible to the naked eye. As readied himself, he began to pour in more power from his judgement. he was already drawing from the power of 2, and now he called on the the 3rd. As the power from the 3rd judgement began to fill his being, he could fill the vessel of a 4th Judgement, sitting there ready to be used. He wasn't sure if it was a good Idea to attempt it just yet. First he would need to see what this Kirin could do.

If released the daggers he already had in his hands and then then vanished with a soul shunt that took towards the back of the Kirin behind his shield. Once there he lunged forward send an Iron Fist attack at the creatures face. His fist empowered by the might of his already active Judgement.

“It does seem that we keep company with some rather unusual creatures, I guess I can hardly pass comment, I'm sure that the Quetzalcoatl accompanying you would have caught my eye if our positions had been reversed.” Yoko then contemplated whether there were any further questions she wished to inquire about on this, their first real meeting. “Barbas is his name, and I'm not his master, just a companion.” The distinction in her mind was quite clear, Yoko was a friend to all animals, not their enslaver.

It seemed that the young Mizukage had developed a deep enough understanding of her ritual to advance to the next one: she had managed to remove all of the problems from her prior iteration of the technique and for the time being was unaware of how to advance it any further. She lacked the means, the knowledge, and the desire to do so, however, instead preferring to leave the technique at its current level and instead focus on something else.

Per her recollection she was starting to run out of rituals, not rituals, in general, there were still thousands that she could have learned, but rather rituals that were on her shortlist. Thus, it seemed as apt a time as any to start to learn the technique enchantment. A technique that could have been most useful in the encounter that Barbas was currently having. The whole idea of the seal focused around the defence as the name Vigorous protection suggested.

The idea of the seal was to protect its user through the mitigation of damage, an important differentiation between the various seals that revolved around defence: some seals enabled the bearer to dodge at a heightened rate, some possessed uncanny elemental shields, others allowed you to vanish altogether. This seal, however, would allow part of the blow to be softened helping the bearer take less damage.

Something that Barbas could have likely made use of, given the actions of Jormungandr. The boy had introduced himself with Barbas reciprocating in Auran with his own name “My name is Barbas.” However, not long after their exchange of pleasantries, the creature had momentarily vanished from Barbas' field of vision. Alas, the Barbas lacked Yoko's ability to see chakra and as such had no means of seeing the quetzalcatl's soul rapidly advance towards it. The realisation however that his target has disappeared before his eyes was a rather shocking one, it certainly was not what the Kirin had in mind, but that was not to say that it went totally unexpected.

Instead, Barbas had but a few moments to decide upon what to do, continue guarding his front or switch to a different direction. He had observed no hand seals prior to the technique suggesting it was not a form of invisibility, as such it seemed that the technique was displacement based, and given that Yoko and the rest of the companions were to his left he doubted the Jormungandr would have moved there the same with above. Thus, this left two directions, behind and to the right.

Barbas rapidly responded to the perceived threat. With his shield already in his right arm, he began to rotate his body, turning at the hips and then the feet to maintain a stable core. His right arm moved in a semi-circular manner to quickly move the shield up and over his head to guard behind him. The motion was just a small one, tightly compact to reduce the range of motion while of a set at an angle so as to guard his head from the right should the attacker have come from that direction.

It had been his intent to guard his face first throughout the motion and then extend that protection to his body if at all possible upon discovering the true location of his opponent. However, the speed with which the teleportation technique took place cut down the time in which he could react. A problem was could have been relieved by the distance between the two opponent's had the quetzalcatl not elected to lunge in with an attack. Fortunately, Barbas had elected to guard his face first, not as concerned with his body given the healing abilities that the pipefox possessed.

This fight also served as a valuable learning tool for Yoko's own pipefox, for while she did not intend to use healing techniques at the moment she was able to take note of the tactics displaced and attempt to work out the optimal solution to the problem. Clearly, Loki was quite perceptive having picked up on the fact that the pipefox was transformed into the shape of a humanoid, however, it was of little matter to Yoko's party. For they had purposefully elected to use the technique due to its fail save, namely, that even if someone knew that you were transformed they did not know what you had transformed from. As such, it made the technique perfect for moving around in a form that was not your own if you were not interested in convincing others that this was truly your form but rather wanted to simply hide what you truly were. This was the case with the pipefox, for it had chosen a generic appearance just to hide who it was in a city filled with humans.

What should Barbas have done differently? The Kirin had managed to guard against the attack, and even if he had failed his resistant body would have likely softened the blow. She was also quick to note that Barbas was also acting in full defence of himself as well so not having to worry about making an attack of his own served to augment the proficiency of his defence. If she had been in the Kirin's position what would she have attempted to do? Perhaps she could have used a genjutsu, but the odds seemed rather slim rather she would be reliant on the protection of her companions.

Loki continued to mold the tenkai barrier that rested above her palm. It had all become second nature to her at this point. She didn't even seem to be playing it much attention at all. However the energy threads continued to tightly weave and in out of each other and tighten around each other as best they could. Loki peeked over towards the energy threads for a moment and saw that the thread had woven about half of the barrier that was being formed. That was a bit of a shame, the conversation was just getting interesting and Loki was beginning to learn much about this women.

"I see... I am glad to see that you do consider such wondrous, and intelligent creatures as mere pets. That Quetzalcoatl, he is just few months old, I have adopted him as my son. His name is Jormungandr. That perpetually drunk pipe fox, is a dear friend. I meet her slumbering in the embrace of an Ice Goddess. She had been sleeping for centuries it seems." Loki smiled as she looked over at Jormungandr and Nex. As Loki talked, she looked back at her barrier and really focused her sharigan onto the barrier in question. As she looked into it, she noticed that she was using a lot less chakra than she was before to get even better results.

She continued to hold her hand out and looked back over at Yoko. "Nex is an elder Pipe Fox, though much of her power and knowledge left her during her long slumber. I hope to help her regain her boundless knowledge and ability. Though is seems her healing abilities have been the first thing to come back to her." Loki began to move her fingers a bit. As the barrier continued to form. As their conversation continued, Jormungandr was looking at his fist as it made contact with the shield. "Hmm..." Is all he said. But he did not time the assault.

After his fist made contact with the shield, with his free hand he grabbed at air. However in reality he was reaching for one of his daggers. As he gripped the dagger, he began to vanish in and out of sight as he began to perform a Cat's Horn Human Tornado. With excellent foot work, he'd move in and out of the Kirin's Line of sight, sneaking into his blind spots, as he delivered a series of quick attacks. Jormungandr would appear as a blur of black, as he circled around his opponent rapidly with the Human Tornado technique.

He each time he circled around his opponent, he used one movement, and within each movement he attacked 4 times. He aimed for anything area of the it's body it could not protect with the it's shield, attacking erratically, starting higher the first time around, and then he went low on his second trip. On the 3rd time around, he'd mix up his attacks, alternating each attack between strike arm his shoulder area, to strike aimed at it's calf and leg muscles. He'd make 4 circles around his sparring partner before he would stop, delivering a total of 16 strikes over the course of 4 movements.

These attacks were powered by his judgement, but none of them could be a fatal blow. As every cut that he attempted to make was intended to be shallow cuts. His mother obviously seemed to be interested in the tiny woman who seemed to be their leader, so it would reflect poorly on not just him, but her as well, if he caused any serious wounds. As this was happening Jormungandr could feel the power of the 4th Judgement beginning to raise by the second, In only moments he was sure that he'd be able to take full advantage of it.

"I guess it's mine turn yeah? Tell Mizukage... what brings you so far away from home?"

I finally made my way inside the city. The creature I was hunting seemed to have already passed by. I walked past several locations of interest as I moved from the front gate of the city. I took a moment to take in the enviroment around me. It had been a while since I had actually taken stock of the area. Smaller details seemed to be getting lost on me more and more as time passed. Bigger picture things stood out but my eye for detail has been lacking.

I felt the kirin and a coatl up ahead. Along with recognizing a few of the items ahead as well. Funny that I always seemed to bump into everyone whenever I went out for a little adventuring. I paused for a moment as I saw Jorgie square up getting ready for a bit of a spar. I watched intently from a distance, out of sight and blending into the environment as best I could. I wanted to see how he would do all things considered.

Yoko continued to observe the actions of Loki and her companions, clearly, she was quite proficient in the technique that she was continually working on despite their conversation. Why else would it require seemingly so little focus to maintain? It seemed that of the companions Yoko could see all had been adopted into Loki's family in a manner of speaking much like her own situation with Barbas. “An elder pipefox, quite the rare sight.”

Yoko carefully listened to the explanation about how the pipefox had been found, the story itself was somewhat similar to her own adventurer in which she had found Barbas. “It seems that encounters of the divine kind are occurring with growing frequency. For I too found my companion, through interaction with a god, the Tenkai. Quite the scene to witness.”

That was indeed how Yoko had first met Barbas, the progenitor of the Kyoudo bloodline had obliterated a fair part of the forest she had been in along with the legion of interdimensional attackers that came were advancing through it. There seemed little point in revealing this information unless prompted further by Loki, else run the risk of appearing to humble brag about surviving the encounter.

Instead, Yoko continued to work out the particulars of the ritual in her head, the ways in which she would need to inscribe the materials, the herbs that she would have to gather and so on and so forth. This had of course been the reason that she had come to this far off land, or at least it was one of them, she was seeking to find more rituals and discover more about the rising power of the coven of witches that inhabited the land. Interestingly enough their leader was before her right now, but how to respond?

“You, or rather your coven. I've heard of you and how your numbers and power are growing. So I've come to gather additional information.” The statement was again true, but rather to the point, Yoko did not want Loki thinking that she was a pushover, but again there seemed to be no real reason to withhold the information. If anything from the way the conversation had been progressing Loki could well provide her with additional information because of it.

Barbas on the other hand seemed to have his hands full, the poor creature had wanted to simply work on its defensive powers by means of holding the shield and testing his guard that way. Instead, however, it seemed that he was in the middle of a mock battle. His opponent seemingly not satisfied by missing their first attack instead grabbed out at the air, presumably to grasp the items that he had previously been using against the barrier, a blade of sorts?

The manner in which the boy moved was most particular, clearly, he had received some form of martial training. The series of quick pivoting actions required to manoeuvre around his body was quite disconcerting, however, he was still able to maintain a line of sight, for the most part, keeping the boy's upper body within view most of the time. Instead, he was forced to also move his body, rotating in a tight circle in an effort to match the attacker's.

Fortunately, it seemed that the pair were relatively close in terms of movement speed, and as Barbas' opponent had to cover a larger distance than he did he was able to keep up to a degree. The difficult part, however, was blocking attacks that he could not see. He did, however, know from the previous use of the blades against the barriers that whatever the tools were they were relatively short. Thus, in an effort to combat the use of the blades he looked to follow the wrists of his opponent.

If he could perceive the wrist coming towards his own body then it seemed likely was that there was an attack coming. As such the Kirin was able to guard most of the attacks that came in. It was becoming readily apparent that the boy's offence was far stronger than Barbas' but fortunately by taking a fully defensive posture he was able to mitigate a lot of the damage, he did not need to take on the attack, only to defend. Thus, while he only had to turn his opponent instead had to dart around in a larger circle, and extend his arms continually, all movements that consumed time.

the fight had hit a strange lull for a moment as I sat around and really took in what I was looking at. I paused for a moment and grabbed the small necklass I was wearing and rolled the wolf head inside the center of my hands. As I did I started to mold some chakra almost absent minded as I pushed more and more of the chakra inside the metal. 

The small kyoudo metal I had was a perfected quality and often times as I got bored I spent a lot of my free time put a lot of my in creating simple seals and cleaning them. I paused for a moment and started to place the enchantment on the seal. Something different this time as I started thinking of ways to get my equipment a little bit more of an edge. 

As I swirled the chakra around I started to think of some of the better things I could do to make some of my equipment a bit more strengthened. As I placed the magic into the ring I gave a pause twirling the swirling magic in different combinations. I knew some of the more simple runes to increase things like strength. Perhaps I could mimic one of the attributes Loki placed on me earlier.

The pipefox continued to observe what was going on, mentally focusing on the situation at hand and what it could have conceivably have done when faced with a rapid taijutsu based attack. In theory, the young Mizukage was the perfect partner for sparing if she wanted to improve on her defence against taijutsu given her extreme proficiency in the martial arts. However, now was not the time for sparing.

Instead, the creature focused in the genjutsu that it was capable of creating, it wanted to make the illusions that it crafted harder to resist, more realistic in some cases like when creating an illusion of a structure. And generally more powerful in others where the onlooker would instantly know that it was in fact just an illusion, however, simply knowing that something was not real was often not enough to save you from the phycological damage that it could inflict.

Thus, the pipefox continued to practise in its mind at least while observing the proceedings. Yoko's clone continued to maintain a vigilant guard over the area, through continuous observation in an effort to notice anything out of place, anyone who was watching or was not where they should have been. Perhaps it was just a side effect of being around an elder pipefox, but Yoko's own could feel a swell in power, an advancement in what it was capable of doing an awakening of sorts.

Yoko also continued to observe the actions of Loki and her party, it seemed that things were hotting up between their companions, Barbas and Jormundgandr were starting to get into the swing of things. It was a somewhat rare occasion to see someone using a sidearm style, especially given the popularity of full lengthed swords, but it seemed that the boy did possess some skill, this should make for a good learning experience for the both of them.

There were several different 'paths' that an artisan could take, choices at every given turn regarding what they were to craft and the means by which they would create their works. Yoko had elected to follow the so-called Technical path, focusing in on the science behind the works with precision and knowledge as opposed to relying on some divine force of the workings of chakra. Perhaps it was not the best choice but still it was what she had selected.

One of the most interesting things about her selection, however, was the benefit that it had on other aspects of her life, or to be more exact the boon she saw in certain skills. It seemed that some of the skills she learned on the technical path were transferable when she practised with the inner workings of locks, for example, she gained a deeper understanding of how to pick them, that much was part of the inherent workings of her craft.

Other stranger skills were also augmented as well, however, with disabling devices and picking locks being rather clear associations. Her skill with her hands in general increased as well, one needed deft and nimble fingers that could be operated with precision if they were to pursue the technical path, thus it was no surprise to learn that she had an easier time relieving people of their items: pickpocketing.

Clearly, Barbas on the other hand still had much to learn, for while he was able to block several successive shots it still took a large tole upon his guarding ability. It wouldn't be long now before his guard was broken before he had to have a momentary pause to recharge his energy. Alas, when faced with a continual assault there was rare a sufficient opening to catch one's breath. As such, the creature was instead forced to dig in deep and see what he was truly made of.

How much longer could the creature maintain his guard against the attacks? Well, it depended largely on whether Jormungandr was pulling his punches if he was then perhaps he could maintain his defensive posture for a while longer. Either way, one thing remained clear, the continued stress on his guard was forcing the creature to exceed his limits. To resist more damage than he would have otherwise been able to do. An interesting side effect of their little sparring match, or so it would seem.

Jormungandr looked on at the Kirin as it continued to turtle behind his shield. Jormungandr took several steps back, and looked at the Kirin up and down. He released his daggers and they began to float on his side. As he looked at the Kirin, he looked at his shield, and then stared at the Kirin itself. The glare of a Venator was nothing trifle with. Not only could their gaze determine lies, but it could strike fear into the hearts of those who made eye contact with them. Jormungandr was not yet well versed in such things, but something was stirring in him to test it.

He glared at the Kirin behind it's shield, "So... you got anything else up you sleeve? Or are you going turtle behind that shield?" As Jormungandr asked in Auran, he attempted to stare into the Kirin's eyes, down into his very soul. As he looked into the creatures eyes, it flickered with the prowess of a predator. The shape of his eyes began to become more serpentine, though the faux sharigan remained in his eyes. He could feel the surging power that was coming through him, he focused it through his own eyes.

He stared down the Kirin wondering if it would look back into his own eyes, or if it was going to continued to hide behind it's shield. Regardless of which it was, he would be prepared to strike at the creature, once it opened itself up. As he stared down the beast Loki continued to to focus her attention on the Mizukage before her. As she smiled at the woman her hands continued to move through the air at her side as the Barrier began to come into it's full shape. The barrier was about to form into a pyramid shape much like she had been hoping.

"So you came to seek information about me and my Coven. Well..." As Loki as this the barrier would finish his formation. The energy that it was being made of, clamped down and formed the shape that she was hoping for. She smiled as she looked over the barrier and allowed it to floated into the front of her. the small barrier floated there for a moment, and Loki waved her hand. As she waved her hand the barrier faded away. Like she had said before, when the barrier was created that would be the end of their conversation. "I looks like our time is up. However, I don't believe this conversation has reached a natural conclusion. So please... you've come for information. Ask away..."

Loki said with smile on her face. She had nothing to hide, so she didn't really care what questions she had to ask. As she waited for the questions, energy began to bubble around her once again. As the energy began to bubble, smaller barriers began to form around them. As the barriers were created each of them would take on a vastly different shape than the other shapes that were around them. The barriers that she were creating floated there around her. Every once and awhile she would turn to face them temporarily

It seemed that the changes that the pipefox was experiencing were not just limited to the speed with which it felt that it could act, or its ability to form techniques quickly. But rather they extended beyond that, to a level that impacted upon the creature's mental and physical resistances: the amount of damage that its body could endure, the mental stress that it could withstand, along with the effects of poisons on its body.

This was, of course, all well and good but there had to be changes that the creature could make of its own accord that would assist in the process. Thus, while Barbas and Jormungandr were engaging each other in combat, Yoko's pipefox instead concentrated on augmenting its body through mental training. Again it did not want to take any physical actions, nothing that would give the game away so to speak.

But rather it wanted to conduct its training in secret so that prying eyes did not gain an insight into it or its actions. Instead, it visualised the effects of poison, what would its immediate counter-measures be? A tourniquet to stop the blood flow from the affected area? But what if the poison was ingested? A tourniquet would be useless in that situation, think. There had to be some means by which she could enhance her resistance.

While the pipefox was bus thinking about its own physical fortitude, Barbas was thinking about his mental willpower. For his opponent's relentless rush had slowed, and then finally stopped. But why, was it to allow him to recatch his breath? No, there was more to the creature's actions than that, there had to be. So for a brief moment, Barbas lowered his shield, recharging his depleted guard metre rapidly.

He did so with the intention of raising his guard once more at but a moments notice should the attack resume. But what was the creature doing, it seemed to be looking at him in a rather displeased manner. Was this an effort to subjugate him? Alas, this would have no doubt proven itself quite a convenient moment to test out an armiger technique in which the practitioner reflected the power of a gaze attack back upon its caster.

However, Barbas was in the midst of training something else, so it seemed senseless to stop now because of this external force. Instead, the creature periodically checked over his shield upon the actions of Jormungandr, was he to advance once more? Either way, he remained quite confident in his ability to resist the effects of will based technique, given his rather uncanny mental resistances.

When he was around his companion's he felt like he could see of all but the strongest of mental illusions. “I must hone my shield if I am to protect those I hold dear.” The Kirin's declaration should have been more than enough to express his intent. In his mind, he was honing his skills as best he could to protect Yoko and the others, and would not allow petty taunts to sway him into rash action.

Yoko, on the other hand, was engaged in her own conversation. It seemed that her question about the coven had borne fruit. But what specific details did she need to acquire about it? That was the real question. The gears in Yoko's mind continued to turn, as she put her technical knowledge to the test. How much information could she infer from the meeting, how much did she already know. There was, after all, no point asking senseless questions that she already knew the answer to.

Instead after a few moments of thinking, she managed to formulate a few questions to ask of the witch. “Your coven, what is its purpose?” Yoko needed to establish whether this coven was a thread to her own village for obvious reasons but also nature as a whole. She did not want a bunch of deranged witches running around raising the dead and the like. There had been enough of that in the past months, with the surge in the undead. It was throwing the natural balance of the wild out of kilter.

Jormungandr continued to look at the Kirin. He felt that he could break the creatures will, with his gaze if he had just a bit more control of it. As he thought this he continued to move his energy into his eyes. As his power moved through his body into his eyes, he continued to look over the Kirin. Such an odd creature, dutiful, but it seemed to be just a bit too simple minded for him. He folded his arms as he waited to hear and answer from the creature. He continued to to try and bring his own power under control as he waited to hear the monster's response.

He finally heard what the Kirin had to say, and then chuckled to himself. He continued to stare into the creatures very soul with his eyes. His stern gaze also helped him to determined lies. It seemed that the Kirin was being as genuine as it could be, or at the very least it believed everything that it was saying. Jormungandr shrugged his shoulders, "I guess I can get behind that... fine." Jormungandr said as he reached out for one of his daggers. As he reached to take hold of his dagger. He made one lazy swing downwards at the Kirin.

As he made his swing The Kirin would fill immense pressure, on his shield form seemingly nowhere. Up to this point, Jormungandr had clearly been holding back the power of his swings. As the power he came down with, would be enough to pressure even the strongest of guard meters. He struck at the Shield two more times rapidly, to try and break Barbas' guard. He's eyes continued to focus in on the Kirin and a smile moved across his face. "Don't hate me, if I don't hold back any longer. I respect your resolve, and would feel it a dishonor to hold back. I will assist you in becoming a powerful shield. In return... help me become a potent blade."

Jormungandr's predatory eyes continued to shine with the power of the Stern Gaze. As he did so he causally began to blow wind out of his mouth towards Barbas. As the powerful wind began to blow Loki's eyes darted over towards her son. She smirked as it seemed that Jormungandr had taken a liking to the Kirin. That meet that her chat with Yoko could get a little noisy. She out stretched her hand, and as she did so a tenkai wall began to form between Yoko and the blast of wind that where heading her way as it escaped Jormungandr's mouth.

The Energy that she produced turned into energy threads. As the energy threads formed they weaved over each other over and over again. This time it was not a tiny barrier that she was forming but a large wall. The Tenkai Wall, formed in a blink of an eye as the threads instantly weaved together. She smiled as she looked back over at Yoko, as the blast of wind hit the wall. She sighed, "Boys will be boys I suppose. Now where where we? Ah yes... my Coven." Loki sighed as she rubbed the back of her head, she had given this speech more than once before.

"The Purpose of my coven, the purpose of all true covens, is balance. We strive to maintain the balance of this world, that we live in. Darkness can not be allowed to thrive, and Light can not grow unchecked. You have nothing to fear from us. Like I've told many Kage before. We have no interest in the affairs of Ninja. Unless your actions threaten to bring us to the edge of chaos."

It seemed rather clear to Barbas that the Jormungandr was trying to affect him through some kind of gaze attack, it would explain the continued eye-contact over and above what would one normally expect during a fight. He was not simply looking at Barbas but rather staring. The question was why. Was it an illusionary technique of some sorts? Barbas certainly didn't feel like he was under the effect of an illusion nor did he have any reason to believe that his companions would not have assisted him minus Yoko if it had been the case.

Rather he suspected that if he was under a genjutsu that the pipefox in their party would have mentally informed him. It did seem however that the small break that he had been provided by Jormungandr was coming to an end with the boy advancing towards him. And then he felt it the weight of the creature's first blow, rather impressive. Fortunately, during the respite, Barbas had managed to regain some of his energy.

As such, the first initial strike did not break his guard. It was becoming clearer now that if he was to become a shield for Yoko that evasive manoeuvres needed to be incorporated into his combat style, he could not simply stand there like a brick wall at this stage at least. After enduring a further two blows to his shield the creature had little option left but to lower his shield sightly slipping out of his armiger guard to recoup his energy.

While in this stance he would need to rely on his own skill with the shield and evasive powers to avoid the blade. A task that was, of course, complicated by the nature of fighting someone with invisible blades, the added presence of wind did not help either. For the time being, he needed to focus on recovering his guard metre so that he could continue the fight and not allow himself to be distracted by Jormungandr's efforts.

Yoko carefully observed the actions of Loki from the formation of the barrier to her sigh before speaking. It seemed that she had had this conversation with multiple kages, did they all come to seek her out? It seemed unlikely that she would have gone to them with perhaps the exception of the Hokage. Yoko started to focus her newfound technical skill on the situation seeking to apply her specialist knowledge to the task at hand to unlock a greater understanding of Loki's actions.

Bringing balance, or rather maintaining balance was an important job, one that the coven and Yoko's druid order both seemed to share. However, it still remained to be seen whether they were simply sweet words or if the coven's actions actually reflected them. Up until recently, Yoko had heard very little of the coven, no doubt by design. But the presence of another village that possessed formidable power was certainly a concern.

As for what to ask next, well it appeared to be the witches turn to ask a question. As such Yoko merely stood there and awaited what the question was to be. Her clone continued to look around the area for people that were out of place, while Yoko's mind wandered somewhat to the next level of understanding of the technical path. It was her aim to obtain complete mastery over the art before her next crafting session.

True to form Yoko's pipefox continued to observe the fight while remaining in its humanoid form, it seemed that the small dragon-like creature was displaying an array of different techniques were as Barbas was to the untrained eye simply focusing on the use of his shield in a singular technique. She needed to catch up to him and to do this her body needed to be able to endure more physical pain.

Thus, the small pipefox committed itself once again to increase its physical fortitude, so that it could have a chance in close quarters combat if need be. The bigger issue, however, would be the alchemical experiments that Yoko was no doubt going to perform on them all, the brews and potions in the laboratory had a way of sapping your strength with prolonged usage, even if the did offer some interesting advantages in return.
