Animal Husbandry.
Rank: "D"
Skill: Artisan Skill
Effect: This character knows the basics of breeding, hatching eggs, and tending to animal needs as they grow.
Special: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: Relevant Abilities: Perception Skill. Die Rolls: 5 Die Rolls. Check Requirement: Always. This character understands the care and breeding of creatures. A character can try to breed animals to produce stock and work at production (e.g., eggs and milk) where appropriate to the animal. The character must have appropriate tools (a bucket for milking cows, a shovel for cleaning out stables, etc.). This skill allows characters to breed creatures. Because taking care of animals is a job any person can perform there is no need for Creature Lore. Any user with Animal Husbandry can help with breeding animals, thus multiple people can help with tending animals. Breeding animals for yields reduces potency of creatures normally found in the wild. Choosing to breed animals, the reduction in potency is 50% more to be harvested and prepared than the standard amount. Captive Animals will only bare young once a year. To harvest yields from a creature the user must have Cultivation. To harvest yields, user must wait until they are old enough which is 1 in character year. To breed/hatch, and help grow a creature the user(s) must calculate 1/2 of Creature's cost. Write a crafting post equal to a Search Creature/Plant post. If a staff member is satisfied with the post a Craft check will be rolled. The staff member will roll a 1d100. Once the number is determined from the roll add the number to the user's skill plus any additional bonuses or penalties. Subtract the calculated bonus from the 1/2 price of the creature. Continue with this process until you have reached 0. Some creatures will state how many can be birthed or hatched. If no number is stated within the creature, then only 1 can be raised at a time. Synergy: A user with Lore, Creature gives a +5 per Mastery Level Synergy Bonus to Animal Husbandry to the specific Region.
Limit: Must learn from Skills.

Cat, Small, Domestic
Rank: ""
Type: Common, Tiny, Animal
Effect: Domestic cats of all shapes and sizes. All have claws and sharp teeth it will use to attack, and hunt prey.
Special: Preparation: ---; Duration: ---
Drawback: ---
Description: Domestic Cats come in all shapes, sizes, and colorings. Their hair can be long or short. Some are excellent rodent hunters. Most domestic cats do not attack, except in play. Even in play, they can do a minimal amount of damage with their claws or teeth. They can see in the dark and that is when they are the most active, hunting prey and mating. Cats attack with their claws and teeth. If they hit with their front claws, they can rake with the back doing 2 Armour Points of Damage each. Cat's claws are retractable. They are agile climbers and can scale trees. They can leap great distances to avoid obstacles or spring onto their prey. Cats always land on their feet. Mother cats will fight to the death to defend their kittens. Cats are common in settled regions. They make excellent pets, as they require little care and provide companionship and pest control. Farmers especially like them, as they cut down on grain loss due to rodents. Cats are mammals, and eat mostly meat, but have been known to nibble grasses and even fruit on occasion. They have a particular love of the herb catnip. Well-treated cats can live 15 years or more. Cats gestation periods are about 3 months with 2-5 kittens per litter. Kittens are weaned at 8 weeks.
