Snake and the Moon [Travel|Private|Cohort]
[enter.]
As Akumu stepped out of the Senpu Dojo, he decided that it was time to venture out on his own for a little while and pick up some new skills to show off to Valerys when she returned from the Chuunin Exams. He started by flying into the air and through the desert, peaking down over the landscape as he flew in the direction of a small, road path in the sand. As he followed the path, he saw a few lingering animals scattered about and two people. He avoided the people, but ate a quick meal out of one of the bigger lizards, and continued until the path led well into the desert. When he grew tired of the flight, Akumu landed and turned into his usual human form: a young child with long black hair and a simple outfit. Although the boy couldn't speak common, he found a gruff looking old man who ran a fishing boat down by one of the rivers.
When the boy appeared, the old man took him in for a quick meal and was surprised when Akumu pointed to the Land of Earth on a map. The old man nodded and let the boat off land. No words were exchanged between them, but he seemed to understand. The old ferryman rowed the oar, and Akumu occasionally helped, as the two of them moved into the Land of Bears. The canyon that their river ran through was dotted with pine trees on either side, but soon the boat would move through them and approach rocky areas. Akumu watched with the wonder as the landscape changed hour after hour, day after day, until soon the two of them were moving out of even the Land of Bear. Soon they came upon the border of the Land of Earth.
During the trip, when his transformation wore off, Akumu would take off into the sky when the man wasn't looking -- and he never asked about it when he couldn't find the child. When the river had taken them a good distance into the nation, Akumu lifted his hand to let the old man know this was their departure point. The old man put out his hand, to shake, which Akumu did with his Ogumo arms. It felt good to know that not all humans were terrible. Then Akumu would step off the ship and go out into the unknown country-side.
