Corkscrew Punch
Rank: "B"
Skill: TaiJutsu
Effect: A punch that looks and feels as if the user is hitting like a Corkscrew.
Special: ---
Drawback: Can only be used once per movement.
Description: Kid McCoy is universally given credit for creating this punch which was well known for the cutting damage that it would inflict on his opponent's faces. It is punch that is in the same league as the Counter so far as power is concerned. It most closely resembles a Straight, but is thrown inward while twisting the shoulder, elbow, and wrist. The Corkscrew uses the same science as that of a bullet firing out of a gun, where the combination of a spinning projectile and excessive force causes a greater impact. The motions involved are similar to that of a Screwball in Baseball and this analogy is fitting as the punch has a noticeable "wind-up" sequence that makes it somewhat foreseeable. When the user hits with this technique the opponent gets cuts along their bodies and begins to bleed from the cuts.
Limit: Must learn in a gym that teaches Bokushingu (Boxing), Must know the Four Punching Basics
0/60
The snow bit so hard out here in the dark of the rising sun, washing over the active body of Miska and her practicing form. Punch. Turn. Pivot. Punch. Turn. Pivot. The perfect form for throwing punches was the hardest to come up with but it started at the bend of the elbow and up to the shoulder when throwing a proper punch. Snapping a jab was easy, the muscles in the shoulder needing to engage and a twist on the instep extended the shoulder far as well as a lean for maximum coverage.
The jab she was working out was worse than that, much more damaging. To pivot at the hips and drive the shoulder down in a twisting motion. With nothing but air to hit she whiffed it often and her shoulder tweaked, pains set in but despite it all she was still out in the snow practicing as best she knew how. A solid block of ice formed over the decades from a once hot spring geyser before the frigid temps and change in climate finally won over and left this tower of flash frozen water for her to hack down with her fists.
One. Two. Three. Turn. Pivot. Twist the hips into the punch and the knuckles will crave a groove into the ice. She kept punching with her heavy gauntlet, trying her best to hack it down but finding that she could only really cause a nasty swipe, the ice cracking and threatening to give away before she could finally see the beginnings of progress. Exhausted but determined she looked up and swung another whiffing punch that ended up missing entirely and propelled her into headbutting the frozen pillar.
"Ahh jeez!" Covering her face she rubbed at the throb to lessen the sting, eyes watering. "Man I hope no one saw that! I cant go back to the village like this! I'm still too weak."
