Emi smirked as he watched the small ghosts completely unaware that he finally was able to see their presence while they still were triggering his fury. So the boy estimated their movements before he swiftly swung with the sword towards the first one with enough strength to cut a metal pole. But when he expected for it to slow down from some kind of resistance, the sword just kept on going through it and didn't seem to make any damage to the ghosts. They did however seem stunned as they for the first time actually had stopped, before they actually flew away a few meters. It was as if they had gotten worried that he would actually be able to hit them soon, which made Emi grin as that would be very likely. But first he had to figure out what was the reason behind why he was unable to strike either one of them with the sword, even though he had done as the book had said.
The explanation was however easier than he had expected, the blade was a bridge in between the two planes with the visuals bound to ethereal. So the blade was only existing in the material plane while allowing glimpses into the other realm, making all of the attacks go through. As the previous section had taken such a long time, Emi stood up from the cold ground, stretched his aching muscles and took a short walk to gather his thoughts before returning to his project. Luckily it seemed like the next part to have it hit the ghosts was a lot easier to do and would most likely take far less time to create. So he read the book about the coming part before hanging up the blade in the air a little over one meter from the ground with nothing around it. The change of pose was essential as he would need to access all of the blade without loosing the use of either one of his hands. He then began to make the hardest part of it, to spin a complex series of chakra strings that he were to weave around the entire weapon.
What he quickly noticed however was that whenever one of the strings he had created crossed another one, or got to close, they shifted in color. As he then suspected that the properties were changed at the same time, Emi had to closely observe the flow of chakra throughout the strings, which sadly confirmed it. So he had to wrap the chakra strings around the weapon tightly, but not so close that they affected each others properties. It was a very delicate balance, which he had to redo a couple of times until it finally was good enough. Which meant that when he finally was done, it had taken far longer than he had anticipated. But he just shrugged, it hadnt been any complex problem, only a technical one. So he felt quite relieved when he had learned the proper way of doing it, as that sped up the process quite a lot.
