Character Depth
Personality
Nomari is an introverted and quiet young woman who is often ‘too serious’ and carries a silent pessimism. She is prone to worry and although she tries her best not to show it. This tends to be amplified by her insecurities and in her overall self-critical disposition. When stressed she can be borderline neurotic. Sometimes even manifesting through light anxiety attacks that leave her wired and hypervigilant. Despite these challenges, Nomari remains determined. She is very committed to her goals as well as to her success. At the core of her personality is the desire for personal growth. Many of her choices are geared towards succeeding the standards she sets forth.
Within social relationships, Nomari tends to be kind and considerate. Many consider her to be thoughtful, both in her concern for others, and her overall pensive demeanor. Nomari values close friendships over large, superficial social networks. Group events tend to evoke minor social anxiety. New situations or interactions also tend to worry her. While she does exceptionally well at masking this from others, her internal world continues to be affected. Romantic relationships rarely cross her mind. Nomari's goals and driven nature tend to dominate her psychic energy. Her insecurities also tend to interfere with this as their focus is primarily on her physical appearance.
Nomari craves success and all that it entails. Despite her internal struggles and introversion, she longs for popularity. She hates the idea of mediocrity, and wants to develop her skills. Ultimately, she strives to become well known as a medical ninja. Success and acceptance from others is a major driving force for Nomira.
Nomari stands at an average height of 5’7”. Her black hair remains short, with her bangs just reaching the level of her chin. Nomari has maintained short her since her childhood. Although it use to be shorter, she has found herself more comfortable with its current length. Her eyes, a light shade of brown, stand out when you first meet the youthful ninja. Nomari does not typically apply much make-up to her face. She does, however, utilize pink lipstick and black eye liner and maintains this habit throughout all domains of her life.
At her current weight, Nomari’s body is considered average. Due to her preference in Taijutsu, she tends to maintain a decent amount of muscle especially in her quadriceps. One usually noticed the strength of her legs. Her skin is quite pale, which becomes exaggerated by her choice in darker clothing. As a shy individual, most people notice Nomari’s serious facial expressions. She does become much more emotive once she gets to know others. Some even consider her to have exaggerated facial expressions when comfortable, providing a tell for her inner reactions.
Her normal attire consists of long, stretch-fit, black pants, and a long sleeve burgundy shirt. During colder months and long trips, you may find her wearing a burgundy, waist length jacket. Her shoes are a darker shade of burgundy. Nomari usually wears black gloves as handwear. They typically have an exposed portion on the top of the hand to allow for air to enter. During missions or events, Nomari modifies her outfit with various black quick loaders. One is attached to both the left and right side of her waist, connected to the pants, and one each on both of her thighs. In the summer, and during the warm weather, Nomari may alternate her clothing to colors and material that draws moisture away from the body.
Nomari’s upbringing by her parents was uneventful as a young child. They provided her with love, affection, and the security needed to develop normally. Her father, a former ninja, suffered a traumatic brain injury when Nomari was ten years old. The result of this injury left him with multiple cognitive deficits. So much that is greatly impacted the relationship he had with Nomari. Her mother, a medical doctor at one of the villages infirmaries, remained as a major support for Nomari, so much so that Nomari’s future goals were shaped heavily by their relationship. In addition to her parents, Nomari maintains a strong relationship with her older brother. However, the age difference of 5 years has put them in vastly different social circles, leaving Nomari feeling somewhat isolated from him at the current age of 15.
Throughout late childhood, Nomari was teased incessantly by a few of her peers. Her preference for shorter haircuts became the focus of her torment. As early adolescence approached, Nomari began to struggle with self-esteem. Following her graduation from the Academy, Nomari took responsibility of caring for her father due to her mother’s severe depression. This break in her training has contributed to her current issues with confidence. Nomari’s mother sought mental health treatment and has managed to return to both work as well as her responsibilities as head of the household. Nomari continues to support her family but has now ventured back into servicing her village.
At the age of 13, Nomari began training to become a medical ninja. Her first application for mentorship resulted in a rejection by the village’s medical training program. She was rejected a second time near her 14th birthday, producing substantial feelings of inadequacy and shame. Although her internal challenges continue to shape her current situation, she continues to remain resilient and is currently thriving as a medical ninja-in-training
