Benihime (Crimson Princess)

Effect: In comparison to the other great swords, a small, oddly-shapen sword that is used carefully and with great skill and precision to effectively slice, dice, and parry attacks.

Drawback: Do to the weapon's massive size and weight it is quite difficult to wield the weapon properly. That is why it is best to go off and train into the weapon in order to be capable of using it properly. The weapon is somewhat of an eyesore as well, and quite dangerous looking so it may bring on lookers to watch and see.
Description: Picture. Benihime is an oddly-shaped sword. Combined with an elaborate guard, a bent hilt, and a straight, one-sided blade, many often wonder how the blade is effective in combat. However, the answer comes from the way the guard is shaped and the way that the hilt is shaped. The sword is usually held with the hilt's bent edge point towards the user, so that when they are bracing against an incoming attack, they have a great body support than that of the average sword. The guard itself has many serrated edges towards the top, making it capable of locking in a blade after a successful parry, allowing the user a much easier way of disarming the opponent. The entire weapon is 42 inches long.
Limit:
The user must be at least B Ranked.
Must be a Taijutsu Specialist or higher.
Must be capable of molding chakra.
Cannot be purchased in any ninja village.

Personality
Overall Shinichi is a fairly simple person who follows his own ideas of right and wrong. He has his own justice system, the result of his upbringing. Whether helping someone in need or knifing someone in the back, he will do what he wants even if it is against the norm. Yet he is not one to turn a blind eye to injustice and prefers to see wrongs righted.
A simple and plain lifestyle without luxury affords him the ability to focus on bettering his abilities and polishing his skills. Save for a fancy amulet that he's possessed as far back as he could remember, he lacks anything elaborate. The result has been someone who never stood out in a crowd. Whether at parties or in class, Shinichi was there but unnoticed. The quiet type who no one could figure out.
Emotionally, Shinichi suppresses his feelings and never shows them on his face. Whether a complaint or praise, Shinichi would not show how he took it. He would say a few words, what was needed or asked of him but never try to be the center of a crowd. Groups were nice in that he could disappear in them. The outer shell he presented to the world would be hard to crack but occasionally a crack may appear. Overall, he could be said to be happy even if no one knew.
As the years passed, Shinichi has expanded his repertoire of skills into Genjutsu . Specializing in cloaking himself and manipulating others' memories, he has stayed true to his nature though he's developed an enjoyment of playing with the thoughts of others. What others see as true is not always true and can lead to misunderstandings. When Shinichi learned this truth, his horizons expanded and realized he could easily manipulate others for what he wanted. Focusing on his Genjutsu would offer untold benefits to his future.
His frugal lifestyle contrasts the hedonism of others in the village leaving others to overlook his skill and capabilities. Many of his actions have been overlooked as his simple bearing deceives people into thinking he's harmless and not involved. Learning how to get away with trouble has been another of his greatest accomplishments. However, frugality does not mean he doesn't like nice things, just doesn't see the point in stockpiling them. If they can't be used, what's their point.
Appearance
Slightly above average height and average weight, Shinichi never placed much stock in his physical appearance. Yet that was not to say he wasn't fit. His body just never truly showed the muscles he had. Shinichi's straight black hair falls to the base of his neck and between his eyes. Naturally straight, Shinichi hardly ever bothers to comb it. Atop his head always sits a cap, hat or some other head covering depending on his mood. Recently a modified black cap inscribed with the grass village symbol has been his head wear of choice. Dark eyes are hidden behind colored contacts, at the moment, an emerald green, to bring some life to his dreary eyes and pale face. Also owning goggles, they are more an accessory than actual wear.
A tied headband stays around his upper left arm and over his clothing. His usual outfit consists of a dark gray jacket with matching pants, a collared undershirt and ninja approved shoes. His outfits are planned with one simple concept, the plain over the vibrant and the simple over the complex.
Being Dokkalfar touched, the features are not easily noticeable as the bloodline is not strong in him. However, people would notice he seems unaffected by dim light. As the sun sets in the sky, he can move as if it's still daylight, a trait denied to many. Not one to brag or show off, he could be considered handsome but has never capitalized on it due to his simple attire and style. With a little effort, he could easily sway the hearts of women but has better things to do.
Over the years, his features have become more refined reflecting one who has witnessed much. Yet his eyes are still pure. He's learned to take his contacts out when heading out on a mission so to better utilize the Sharingan against his foes, bringing terror to the battlefield. His eyes have become his pride and joy and well taken care of.
One day, Shinichi discovered his body was double-jointed entirely by accident. Yet this discovery became a secret he held close. If he ever wanted to freak people out, messing with his bones would surely do the job; though it would waste a surprise. This is a trump card if he ever got captured.
Background
Of the many traditional houses in the border town of Sabeer on the outer edge of the Land of Fire, one house belonged to the Soifon family. A simple family, their wealth exceeded the way they lived. Their simple belongings contrary to their neighbors. Into such a household during the time of the Cherry Blossom Festival, Shinichi arrived in the world.
His family celebrated his birth with a massive party for a reason that Shinichi would only find out about on his fifth birthday. As a present to him, they showed him the Soifon family tree. A massive scroll it went back hundreds of years and one fact had become clear, they were an offshoot of the Uchiha. The full history of the prior generations had been lost but it had become apparent that every other generation a child would be born with the ability to receive the Sharingan. The markings on the scroll indicated as much, and as his mother lacked the Sharingan and was an only child, odds were high that Shinichi would one day receive it. Yet that would not be years to come.
Shinichi's parents were for the most part quiet and never went into great detail of their past no matter how much he begged. His father spent day after day teaching him the basics of martial arts before going to work as a trader, and his mother focused on showing him chakra control and basic jutsu formation throughout the day. While most of the other children were in school, his parents paid for a private tutor for home schooling. Several years passed this way, Shinichi picking up his family's mannerisms.
On his eighth birthday, his mom gave him a special gift. After his father had left for work, she took him out back to the pond and showed him a unique jutsu “ The Great Fireball technique. The massive ball of flame burned bright reflected off the water. A smile touched her lips as if she remembered the past before she turned back to her son. His present would be the hand seals and simple instructions on the jutsu. It would be up to him to figure out the rest. Every day in his free time Shinichi would try the jutsu, entranced by the power of fire. It was only one or two attempts a week as he had to wait for his father to leave the house, but he wanted to master the technique. By his ninth birthday he had succeeded, giving his mom a private demonstration much to her delight, calling him her little man.
Then one day in his ninth year, his mother told him a secret about their family. His grandfather still lived as a ninja in the Hidden Grass village. It seemed his mom had married without his blessing and so had been cut off from the family. Yet she told him that if he were ever in trouble, he should go there for help. An odd proclamation coming from his mother considering she seldom spoke of the past. He spent the next couple days thinking about what she had said, still shocked at the revelation. Lately it had seemed his parents had been more on edge though they did their best not to show it.
Arriving home from the market a week later, he saw the front door of his house in shambles. Worried, he ran inside to see a man fall dead at his feet. Years later Shinichi could never remember which was greater, shock of seeing a strange man die or his mother covered in blood and wounded. His heart pounding, Shinichi found his mom stabbed in the stomach, two other men dead on the ground. Rushing to her aid, he did his best to stop the crimson liquid pouring out from her, but the cloth served little purpose. Deep down Shinichi knew it was fatal, tears falling from his eyes as his mom looked at him, to wounded to move. An odd feeling hovered in the air as his mother put forth a great effort to speak. “Go to the next town and wait at the Red Rock. Your granddad will meet you there.” Coughing wracked her frail frame.
“What about dad?” Shinichi asked.
“Don't worry about him. He will be fine. Please just go. Now!” Her face grew paler before her chest stopped beating. Holding her unmoving body, tears continued to fall as he finally made up his mind, undoing a clasp around her neck. A jeweled amulet, something she considered special, would be his memento for his mother. Hurrying about the house, Shinichi also grabbed some pills from the cupboard and opened a secret stash in the house. His parents did not know that he knew where they kept an assortment of weaponry. Loaded with what he thought he would need, he headed out constantly looking back at what had been his home. Something felt wrong about the situation though he did not know what it was.
The same people he saw whenever he went into market were still about like nothing happened as Shinichi took the short walk to the next town. The Red Rock served as a hub in the town, a landmark that he had seen many times when his father used to let him go on business trips to here but no further. Though he mourned and worried about what was happening, there was a sense of excitement about everything. For one, he would be seeing his grandfather. Wiping his tears so he would not show emotion like his mother had taught, he remembered when she had called him a man. Shoving his memories aside, he turned to how he would find his grandfather.
The next thing he knew everything had gone black and when he awoke, he found himself in a cave tied up. A group of men around a campfire argued over something. One of the men saw that he had woken up and the moment he got within a couple feet of him dropped dead, a kunai in his back. He silently dropped as the ropes binding him were cut, Shinichi unable to see the figure. The others stood up and drew their swords, no more kunai coming as a voice whispered in his ear, “If you want to live, break through them.”
“Get the boy,” one of the men called as two people charged forth. Through his training and reflexes Shinichi managed to dodge blow after blow while another of the men laughed. “What's the matter Sai and Gota? Can't handle one little boy.”
Pushed further and further back Shinichi finally collided with the wall in the back of the cave. Realizng he could die, panic set in as he frantically formed the hand seals and shot forth a massive blast of fire scorching the men in front of him. They dropped their swords in howls of pain, burned alive as the other couple guards appeared to collapse from two more thrown kunais. Again a voice spoke in his ear, “You did better than I thought, child of Sasha.”
“Who are you?” Shinichi called out. “How do you know my mother?” Laughter greeted his question, seeming to come from all around him. “I know her quite well. How is she?”
Fury burned inside of him as he recalled seeing his mother die before his eyes. “Show yourself,” Shinichi called again.
“Make me,” came the reply.
Shinichi stared all around but could see nothing, his temper rising. Finally he shouted, “Come out!”His eyes glowed red, a black tomoe appearing though he himself could not see it happen. Without warning his vision shimmered and an elderly man was standing over the two crisp bodies, only a few feet away. “Who are you?” asked Shinichi reaching in one of his pockets for some sort of weapon.
“The tradition proves true after all it would seem,” said the man taking a few steps back. He looked over the boy before him before answering, “I am Eldric. Eldric Soifon at your service,” he said bowing. Shinichi's face was one of shock as he fainted where he stood, the happenings of the day taking its physical and emotional toll. When he next awoke he was in a bed, not his bed though. A slightly harder bed that squeaked as he moved. “You finally awake,” said the man from before causing Shinichi to shoot up out of bed. “Easy, easy,” said the man doing his best to soothe. “I'm not your enemy Shinichi.”
“How do you know my name?” he asked.
“Well I'm your granddad of course. Surely Sasha told you about me.” Shinichi took a deep breath as he lied back down. It did not seem the man was lying. “We're in the grass village.” Shinichi did not even need to ask as the man seemed to read his mind. “You'll be safe here.”
“What happened?” asked Shinichi
“It would seem your father made enemies. They wanted something and when they could not find him, they ambushed your house. After seeing you get kidnapped in front of the bar, I followed them to the cave. You put on quite a performance. I'd say you'll make a fine Uchiha., but that's later. Back to what happened. You were out cold so I visited your home as Sasha was going to come with you to meet me, but it seemed she had already passed on. Your being alone and the other pieces all fell into place. As for your father I don't know where he is, but your welcome to stay here and become a ninja. Perhaps one day you'll be able to find him.” He paused as if trying to figure out what else to say before adding, “Think it over. I'll be downstairs if you need me.”
The man made his exit leaving Shinichi with his thoughts. His mother was dead, his father was gone and he had the possibility of becoming a ninja. Two years later and still in the Grass village, it's obvious what choice Shinichi made.
