[/b], The Forgotten First, little is known. History teaches us that the founding Fire Shadow cared not for glory or fame, lived in obscurity, and died just before gaining widespread recognition.VILLAGE PLOT | Culture, Storyline, and Customs

LEADERSHIP HISTORY
About the Second Hokage, the infamous Petals of Pain, virtually everything is known. His legacy proceeds us. Legends of his deeds are the stuff of common folklore.
The Third Hokage, Red Bird and Fourth Hokage, White Tiger have had their names stricken from official records. Their fellow Clan Members and allies have been eliminated. Their Kekkei Genkai bloodlines have been eradicated. Their bodies were desecrated beyond the capabilities of resurrection to restore.
It is not until the Fifth Hokage, Gosei Kazeraikou, that a Leaf Village Leader has a name about whom concrete information can be attached. The Fifth Hokage was an evil Genjutsu Master whose Bloodlimit allowed him to control the weather. He was also capable of summoning several monstrous creatures, including spiders and Dragons, and even earned the nickname "Dragon of Konoha" for his many victories in combat.
The Sixth Hokage, Andromeda Omega, was a medic responsible for stabilizing the village in the chaotic aftermath of Gosei Kazeraikou's sudden disappearance. The first Non-Bloodlimit possessing Hokage in history and a Master Medic, she championed racial equality and became an icon for equal treatment between clans. In the Leaf Village, Andromeda Omega is considered a 'famous' shinobi. Everyone has heard of her, and there are Holidays and Festivals frequently in her honor. Upon gaining the qualifications for SANNIN Candidacy, she relinquished control of the Hidden Leaf to it's Council of Elders.
The Previous Acting Seventh Hokage, Momoka Hyuuga, murdered the Council of Elders in front of the entire village on the day of her inauguration. She was a powerful shapeshifting Evil Entity believed to be the head of a demonic cult. The corpses of the Council Members became the seeds for enormous trees of Unknown Type, and shortly after, the events of The Overgrowth began.[/ul]

CULTURE
"The Will of Fire" - The Will of Fire (火の意志, Hi no Ishi) is a recurring element throughout the Hidden Leaf Village. It is an ideal rooting from the Primordial Chakra User's belief that love is the key to peace. It would eventually become the life philosophy which The Forgotten First founded and the first village clans (The Noble Uchiha, Hyuuga, Aburame, and Akimichi) lived by, which has since been passed on to many ninja from Konohagakure as a part of their spiritual heritage, though a history of ill-intentioned leadership has also arisen in challenge to it. It states that the entire village is like a large family unit and every Konoha shinobi with the Will of Fire loves, believes, cherishes, and fights to protect the village, as previous generations had done before them. In Konoha, there is a sculpture of a flame behind the Emberden Tree representing this will, it has the kanji for "Hokage" (火影, literally meaning: Fire Shadow) inscribed below it. The Will of Fire is what gives Konohagakure shinobi the strength to continue fighting against all odds, building willpower and strength of character. It is also symbolic of the hopes and dreams of the previous generation being passed to the next. It has become a somewhat outdated term - the Gourmet Restaurant in the Shadehand Tree is named 'The Will of Fire' as well.
Slang Term: "Fya" - Fya or fiyah [fahy-yuh] is a slang form of fire, used for anything that's, well, lit. It means something is amazing, extremely good, or on point, especially said of how someone feels or looks. Konohagakure shinobi are the originators of this phrase, as well as various others that relate heat to something's positive attributes (i.e. "that's hot/he/she/it is hot/such a hottie", etc.)
Twelve Guardian Ninja - The Twelve Guardian Ninja (守護忍十二士, Shugonin Jūnishi, English TV: Guardian Shinobi Twelve, literally meaning: Twelve Gentlemen Guardian Ninja) are the ultra-elite bodyguards of the Land of Fire's Daimyō. Membership is indicated by the specialized armours they wear, marked with the enchanted kanji for "Fire" (火, Hi). Selected from among the Hidden Leaf's strongest and most capable defensive warriors, the Twelve Guardian Ninja have obtained a level of prestige and respect above that of even the ANBU. Inclusion into the Twelve Guardian Ninja requires special selection by the Daimyou's Office - only merit achieved through IC feats will earn their attention.
Shadowreach - Shadowreach (LINK) is a Sub-Division of the Dragon ANBU that act as the Kage's personal bodyguards and political liaison. Their exploits are legendary throughout the village and their strength is unrivaled.

ROOT - Root (根, Ne, "Foundation") is a paramilitary branch of Konohagakure's Anbu training subdivision. It's members are not ANBU and do not have access to ANBU Techniques, but instead receive access to the Village Scrolls and the efforts of the ROOT Laboratory, New Growth. Members of ROOT perform missions dictated by the ROOT Leader, and are committed to protecting Konoha at any cost, even against or despite the Hokage's orders. They carry out missions even the ANBU are unwilling to complete. Potential ROOT Members dedicate a Miscellaneous Slot to be used exclusively in the service of the Foundation.
