[Enter Marii]
Ice blue eyes searched the forested area. There was nobody nearby. It was time to get started. "Ninpo! Kage bunshin!" muttered the female.
Five clones appeared out of thin air. "It's that time of the year again. We're going to look for some trees or plants. Here are your lists" started Marii. She gave each clone a list of plants.
"Number one and two goes south or west. Number three and four goes east or north. Number five will stay here with me" continued the young woman. The six identical women split up to look for their plants. This would get interesting.
The first two clones were going south. Both of them were looking for a black poplar tree. It was a rather unusual tree. Fortunately, the forests of Kaminari were dense. One of them suddenly spotted an odd tree.
Both of them looked at the papers in their hands. The duo looked at the tree in front of them once more. Could this be the tree they were looking for? Or was it just a look alike?
The third and fourth clone were currently going north. Evergreen trees in the summer months would definitely stand out. Especially since it was a rare type of tree. Both of them were looking at opposite sides. Suddenly, one of them saw an evergreen tree further into the forest.
The clones walked over to check it out. Ice blue eyes checked the paper in front of them. Sure, the tree smelled wonderful. But did the tree have the correct size? Or was this tree not matching the requirements?
Marii and the kage bunshin let out a sigh in frustration. Looking for a tree that changed colour when exposed to blood was difficult. Especially since blood was not exactly in ample in supply. The duo were about to turn when they saw a rather odd tree. It looked very similar to the one at the paper.
"Let's check it out" muttered the young woman. Her clone nodded before they walked towards the tree. It matched the description as far as appearance went. There was one hinder though. Was this tree dense enough?

Black Dogwood
Rank: "S"
Type: Rare, Huge, Tree
Effect: A hardwood tree soaked in blood used to make piercing objects.
Special: Preparation: –; Duration: Special
Drawback: ---
Description: This hardwood came by its name in a roundabout way. The name Dogwood is a corruption of Dagwood from the use of the very hard wood for making 'dags' or daggers. Black Dogwood does not become black until it is exposed to blood, then it soaks it up and takes on a ruddy black color that slowly fades over several weeks. There is no purpose to this, it is just a curious aspect of the wood that occurs, even if the wood is completely varnished and waterproofed. Though the wood tends to splinter when used in anything too wide, when it comes to making sharp pointy things, Black Dogwood makes for a scary weapon. Any piercing weapon can be made out of Dagwood and is considered masterwork. The wood is also highly prized for making the shuttles of looms, for tool handles, and other small items that require a very hard and strong wood, but primarily it is use is the making of wooden piercing weapons. Nothing special is needed. The wood in question has many knots and twists and turns a lot. It simply is not built for long objects, since finding a length of stable wood of more than a foot is rare, however, it is possible if one chops down a large enough tree and works at it to get a few usable lengths for 4 or more feet. In that case, masterwork spears are possible. Hardness: 7; Armour Points/Inch: 15; Armour Class: -2. Black Dogwood produces 80,004 Ryo worth of material cost for items. Black Dogwood items cost 1/3 normal price.
Availability: Summer; Region: Forest/Hill; Identification: Difficult; Cultivation: Difficult
Limit: Must know Botany for Forest/Hill Regions. 19% chance in finding.
Cost: 50,000 Ryo Per Tree; 80,004 Ryo per Tree (Material)
