Introduction to the Handbook

- -    This thread will be your ultimate guide to be able to read up on everything regarding Snow Country, the Capitol, and its Ninja Village. The entire thread will have a plethora of details and notes, that should help answer any questions that one may have regarding how things work or how what to do here.

- -    Roleplay in Snow Village are collectively preferred to be in-depth and in character as much as possible. So while the whole site might not always have a cohesive story, the members here in Snow Village are all working towards keeping a storyline that intertwines everyone together. So those that hold events, and missions here are asked to be courteous and follow that as well if they can be bothered to do so.

Mountains

Mt. Sekitan (Restricted Area)

- One of the larger and taller mountains out of the four. This steep and naturally dangerous elevated landscape is named after the fearsome An'ei Sekitan. A former Daimyo of Yuki and the third Dignified Kage of Yukigakure. This mountain is rumored to hold the secret resting place of Lord Third during his temporary departure.

Deep within his home on top of the mountain. Of course, the integrity of such information is generally poor due to Mt. Sekitan having highly restricted access laws placed upon it. Only those graced by Lord Third himself have been allowed to fully scale it.

Mt. Eden (National Park)

- The second smallest mountain of the region. And yet the most famous one. This mountain is rich with beautiful views, warm spots of pure sunlight, and is covered in colorful vegetation. This mountain serves as a natural open resort and vacation spot for any Yuki Natives or visitors that wish to get away from the craziness of the world. Purposely decorated to stay away from the urbanized architecture of Yomazu. All visitors here are free to explore every bit of what the mountain has to offer. However, caution is advised when venturing away from the designated safe areas. As the wildlife is just as welcome here!

Mt. Genbu

- The tallest mountain on the arctic island. This crystalized mountain region is also home to the once long-lost Citadel of Winter. A crystal and stone fortress that housed the sealed King of Winter. Mount Genbu is named as such, purely due to size and its infamously sturdy igneous rocks alone. Traces of volcanic activity here have fizzled out centuries ago and are assumed to be a part of the island's formation even further back in the timeline. As such this mountain is now a much safer version of its former self, even as it shares space with the much smaller, but less welcomed feared Mt. Dogwood.

Mt. Dogwood (Rusovia's Hellmouth)

- The smallest mountain on the entire island. Mount Dogwood is a victim war and experiments from the truly cruel and dreadful lich queen Rusovia. A necromancer and evil witch that used this mountain as a base of operations for centuries. Her work has rid a whole side of this dormant volcanic mountain of its natural beauty. Painting it a damn near permanently charred black color over its jagged surface.

- Because of this the mountain had long since lost its original name, which was already previously changed by migrating settlers. This mountain now turned; cursed hellmouth used to be the home of the viking-like Warlords back during their time of reign over Yuki no Kuni. Then during the wars with the Knights and Samurai, the already war-torn mountain had become far more uninhabitable overtime. Thus it is now just a blemish on Yuki no Kuni's landscape. Right next to the feared wasteland: Witch's Deadland.

The Crimson Gate Compound
- The new and improved gate structure at the forefront of Yukigakure. Using the foundation of a rocky troughs as leverage to build sturdy reinforced walls of painted steel into. The red coated gates of Yukigakure, are as symbolic as they are threatening. Reminding allies of the blood that was spilled for their safety, and the fiery red determination to eradicate all enemies that dare to oppose them.

The Crimson Palace [Kage's Tower]
- To match the heavy duty compound at the front of the village. There was an all new tower and shinobi base created within the back of the village. To avoid defacing history, the old castle was left untouched. Instead all Yukikage that ever step foot into office will be using the palace as not only a massively secure, and decorated base of operations. But also a home to help create culture and history among their fellow ninja and villagers.

The Monuments of Leadership
-  Heroic History and important lessons learned are always at the forefront of Yuki innovation. Regardless of how many times it takes, the ninja of the village are constantly reminded to put their best mind forward whenever possible.

To embody this agenda Yukigakure has a location not too far from the Palace has been dedicated to having monumental statues of all the Kages of the village from Past to Present. Those here where dignified during their tenure will be immortalized through respectful artwork. While others will be at the mercy of how they were remembered if given a statue at all.

The Grand Museum
- Collecting artifacts or valuable items from any given period of time is something that is not foreign to Yuki Natives. Thus to present as much of it in a properly spontaneous manner a large and era defining museum exists near the center of Yukigakure.

Yukigakure Hospital
- This small, sexually suggestive, and occasionally gaudy hospital was built during the tenure of the late, Pricilla "Cilla" Deus. A puppeteer with a self proclaimed title: "Empress of Snow"; that admittedly had some signs of having good intentions. She had some hand in directing infrastructures during the village's early days. However her reign was also full of noticeable blips in her leadership socially. The fan service of this hospital is one of them.

And while she may not be dignified for one reason or another, there is credit still due. And so miraculously even during the ghostly  Dark Age of Yukigakure's history. This hospital's services were crucial in keeping Yuki citizens alive and well. Enough so that Kahimi Inuzuka warranted its use still worthy of continuation.

And while there are reported cases of patients having either faked, or committed minor self injuries on themselves; just to be able to see the nurses and doctors there. It has been decided that with proper protection and security this hospital can continue its efficient but obviously lewd healing practices. In other words: The steady income pulled in by the skimpy dressed staff of is worth the trouble in this case. Professional or otherwise.

Cul-de-sac Bazaar of Yukigakure
- Embedded in  the heart of of the village is a roundabout style street full of shops, vendors, and special services. This is the lighthearted hub of the village's economic traffic. A place where money can be worth something beyond paying for the monthly drug lord, or mafia man to get bumped off. The citizens regularly use this Bazaar as a way to keep up to date on what's new to buy from the Mainland. And while prices are occasionally expensive to cover travel costs, the overall genuine comfort remains the same; or even improved over the years.

The Kyūha Teishoku-ya (Old School Diner) (Chef Murochi's Resturant)
- Way before this place even became known as the "Old School Diner". It was simply known as "The Diner and Theater". And before that it was just "The Theater". 100+ years of nonstop service to any and all that have ever walked foot in that small theater now turned restaurant has told countless stories.

Owned by the now elderly Yuuma Murochi. This theatrical diner is as old school as they come. But the food and service here is still held as one of the best throughout the village. The only real scuff mark on its reputation is the owner's knack for getting himself into needless trouble due to his perverted antics. Nothing a few good swats to the head won't fix!

Winter Peonies INN
- One of the last few places within the village that has history to scale across eras of time. Winter Peonies is named of course after the Winter Season flowers that bloom there. It has always had a pacifist's dream kind of atmosphere and because of that. Guests at this inn have consistently reported therapeutic levels of satisfaction from resting there.

The fresh remodel's only purpose was to breath more modernized life into its old structure. Now with a fresh coat of paint, and reinforced framework this inn is fully capable of taking in more guests, and rivaling the expensive and luxurious reputation of Yomazu's Hishigata INN. (Minus the top secret ninja enhancements and staff.) 

Haru no kōen (Park of Spring)
Using modern technology and strategically scientific timing. This park is a new and undamaging section of Yukigakure that allows nature to shed light (and heat) on itself. The vegetation here no longer having a heavy white winter coat thanks to the environmentally safe super heaters. With flowers, trees, warm water, and plenty of color present throughout the whole park. Yukigakure villagers and its shinobi will be able to enjoy the freedom of Spring, Summer, and Fall any time that they'd like right at home.

Military Format

Teams and Chain of Command Structure

The students Yukigakure's Ninja Academy are taught and expected to push themselves beyond the average characteristics of being a ninja. Those unwilling or incapable of keeping up with these requirements are generally encouraged to seek out a different lifestyle altogether if possible to avoid unwanted injuries or disappointments. (Mostly to avoid the unworthy hurting others rather than themselves during dire situations.)

This is done to set up each student that passes, to become a shinobi that is capable of defending themselves against the numbers or strength advantage the shinobi from Major Villages are expected to have. Every threat is to be taken seriously to prevent unnecessary defeats. And so training one's self to be mentally secure in situations with and without help is crucial.

However to prevent a lack of cohesion Yukigakure still has an established ranking structure as follows:

Other than the normal ninja ranking ladder: (*Genin, Chuunin, Jounin, Jounin Commander, Sannin/Kage)

Yukigakure has created its own system to add flexibility in team organization for any given mission. These rules are as concrete as they are flexible. The only real mandatory rule is that shinobi respect and honor the ranks they are given, and their superiors above them.

The Structure:

Tier 1 - Flush Squadrons/High Cards
*An unofficial name and generally used to mockingly symbolize the expected lack of cohesion and file reports of botched missions. But the potential for great surprises.

Teams comprised of only Genin with a class lower than B; can only be formulated if they have members: 4 and higher. (Up to a total of 6)
Limit: Must be a Genin.

Tier 1.5 - Straight Squadrons
*An official title that is given to Genin heavy teams that have at least one or more members that have shown leadership capabilities, and have the potential for good results.

Squads with at least 1 Chuunin among them can have a total of 3 members starting out (Up to a total of 6). The Chuunin is always the designated leader and the one responsible for the result of the team's success during missions.
Limit: Chuunin in these teams must at least be C Class to lead them.

Tier 2 - Dyad Combinations
Chuunin are generally the middlemen of any given team, and are expected to back up their Jounin Superiors as well as automatically take leadership over any Genin teams ifn necessary. However, some Chuunin are placed in much smaller teams that are comprised of only themselves and a another fellow Chuunin.

These Two-man Teams also known as the "Dyad Combination or DC". These are made to help organize ninja who excel better with fewer people to watch over, and are shown to have above average skills in situational awareness and tactical prowess. These are also given to Jounin who wish to take mentorship over two Chuunin rather than three Genin.

Limit: Must be a Chuunin, no lower than B Class to make a Dyad Cambination with another person. Must be another PC or Cohort for official teams. Can have an NPC temporarily accompany you during missions as an unofficial DC.

Tier 3 - Threefold/Three of a Kind
These are Jounin only teams, which are generally used for highly dangerous missions only. Since Jounin are typically trusted to survive on their own if necessary, a Threefold Team is literally made only to triple the odds of success.
Limit: Must be a Jounin. Can have NPCs or Cohorts fill the role of teammates with Kage Permission.

Tier 3.5 - Full House
These are Threefold Teams that are accompanied by Two Chunnin regardless if those Chuunin are a part of a DC Team. The preferred setting is to have a Jounin Commander among them, but it is not required.
Limit: Members must be either Chuunin or Jounin. Two Chuunin Characters can have Jounin NPCs accompany them. Jounin Commanders can have Four NPCs accompany them.

Tier 4 - Straight Flush
These are 5 man teams that have all the ranks of ninja below Jounin Commander. The chain of command follows the highest ninja rank available at any given time. Thus if the Jounin isn't available to give orders, (or dies) Then team responsibility falls onto one of the Chuunin available if there is more than one.
Limit: Must have at least one Jounin. Genin must at least be C Class or Higher, Chuunin must at least be B Class or higher. Jounin can be NPCs if necessary.

Tier 5 - The Royal Flush
These are 4 to 5 man teams comprised of the Kage, and at least 1 Sannin or Jounin Commander. The leader of these teams are the Kage themselves. The only person who can take leadership positions in place of the Kage are the Sannin. And if neither of those are available then only the Jounin Commander can lead temporarily.
Limit: No Genin are allowed. Chuunin may only be allowed with kage permission. All members must be at least A Class or Higher.

Note:
(*The names for each type of squadron are official and top secret. They cannot be changed without Kage approval. These have real effects on skill rolls made to understand which person leads the team if available. Those trying to learn of Yukigakure's Military Structure will be forced to make roles to investigate and find out about its inner working and secret codes.

PC Teams

Team Yokai Shi/4Tsu Yuki Akuma

A four-person team that is comprised of the Kage, and three subordinates. Those that fill the role of a "Yokai of Snow" are famously known to be highly deadly, and/or capable of very supernatural things. The members of "Yokai Shi" tend to come from complicated or hard to research backgrounds. Some have been rumored to already have died before. Some are believed to not even be human, fully or otherwise.

Each member is a force to be reckoned with on their own. Thus if a foe were to find themselves unfortunate enough to face more than just one of the Yokai. The troubles will increase tenfold. There are always unique yet familiar insignia that are monikered on each member. The insignia typically has a logo depicting of their Yokai Type. And then a kanji depicting their given number. The only collective theme between all four of them.
