Character Depth
Personality
Miato can be a bit obnoxious at times. He is a devastating mixture of sass, hyperactivity, and mischievousness. He can often be spotted placing small fireworks and the like under chairs in public spaces. This has often gotten him in trouble. However, jokes and tricks aside, he knows when to be serious. Miato becomes focused during combat and while he may sometimes use unconventional methods for battling, ( we won’t talk about the failed attempt at creating a distraction by yelling, “Look, a distraction”.) his head is always in the game.
Miato, when not causing a ruckus, can be found relaxing under a particular tree within his village, Amegakure, while sipping on a piping hot cup of tea. Although the rain frequently splashes around in his tea, Miato chooses to see it as “free refills”. Miato has a bit of quirk in that he is obsessed with tea. He loves trying new brands/ flavors and always has a tea bag in his pouch ready to go.
Apart from tea, Miato also loves lounging. Whether reading a nice book or taking a nap, it doesn’t matter to him if he isn’t working. Miato hates training. He usually procrastinates and needs to mentally pump himself up to get into gear. He will always do what needs to be done albeit begrudgingly. Miato will never allow himself to fall too far behind, though he is generous with his “vacations”.
Appearance
Miato is exactly five feet tall. He has palish skin that seems very hydrated due to the rain constantly falling and the humidity in the air. He is a bit on the scrawny side and is often told he needs to eat more. Miato has a rectangular formed face and falls on the “average” spectrum in appearance. He is not considered gorgeous, but not totally hideous either.
Miato has a thick head of pine green hair. Prior to being a ninja, his hair would often fall in his face, however, the black headband strapped to his head gives his messy, spikey hair some much needed help in keeping the hair out of his emerald, green eyes. Not much thought goes into styling his hair and it usually just falls into place and is never touched.
Miato wears a thick raincoat that falls a few inches past his waist. The coat is split down the middle in two colors. The left side is a deep peacock blue while the right side is a charcoal grey/black. Miato wears slightly baggy grey pants tucked neatly into his ninja boots.
Background
Born in the wettest place on Earth, Miato has few experiences with this “dry” thing he has heard of. He was born just as any kid typically is. Mother rushed to the hospital; the pet neglected for a few days before engaging in a tantrum to initiate attention giving. You know, the average birth experience.
During his early childhood days, Miato would often play in the rain. He loved every aspect of the rain: the sensation on his skin, the smell, the time it caused the neighbor lady to slip in a puddle sending her newly purchased groceries hurling in the air; EVERY aspect. Miato did not have a large group of friends like most kids at his age. He instead learned quickly that he didn’t quite trust a lot of people and chose to only become close with a few individuals. Though his friend group was small, he enjoyed their time together nonetheless.
Miato was very close with his mother growing up. He would often help her both in the garden and in the kitchen. Because of this, he learned the basics of herbal tea brewing and kitchen work. He was not as close to his father. His father was a locksmith, and due to high crime rates, he would often stay late and get up early to ensure all his work could be done. When he could, he tried to teach Miato what he knew so he could one day continue the family business. Miato learned the basics of lock picking, however found it incredibly boring.
Miato, at a young age, enrolled himself into the ninja academy. He wanted to do more than fix locks and serve food. While he only received average grades, he loved his time in the academy. He learned the basic jutsus and managed to graduate along with his friends, earing his headband and the rank of genin. His parents were proud, as there were no ninja in his family line previously. Happy with his decision to become a ninja, Miato excitedly dreamt of his future missions and endeavors.
