Garr had just breached the barriers of the fire country. They were well out of cloud’s natural reach, but he wanted to be safe, or at least as safe as a missing nin could be when they are on the move. In due time, he reached a small clearing in the midst of a large forest. He couldn’t spot any traces of civilization, so decided that this was as great a spot as any other. Gingin leaped off his shoulder to rest near the edge of the clearing. Seeing as she was content with the area, he decided that he’d train some. It was a good a time as any. After just a few seconds, the move of his choice came to his mind, the compression punch.
Turning on chaos, Garr began concentrating chakra into his hand. Nothing happened at first. He could get even one ounce to flow toward his hand, eventhough he was clearly straining. Taking a deep breath, he could feel something beginning to happen. His hand began to vibrate slightly, but there was no other effect. He started again, but the same effect answered him for about half an hour. He could since nothing, not activity, no chakra, no heat. It seemed as if he’d done nothing but waist time. Garr decided to switch off chaos for a moment, to recover his chakra and try again.
After about five minutes of resting, he rose to his feet to practice again. Straining against his will, he could feel chakra slow building up into his hand. It was all pooling in his forearms, but would channel any further. Concentrating, he tried forcing it to move further down his arm. The attempt failed, and he felt the chakra dissipating. He let it all go and began concentrating again. This time, he immediately pooled up in his forearms, and didn’t simmer away. Using that, he tried to focus more on the chakra. His reward was very slow and tedious. First, he built it up and pushed it downward, the physical components of his arm resisting the whole time. After about half an hour, he managed to get it toward his risk. However, chaos had just ran out, and his arm began to burn as if he dumped it in hot grease. His face tensed up in pain, and Gingin ran to his side for a moment. Assuring her he was fine, she set herself back down on a tree stump and left him alone.
After he’d rested enough for him to use chaos again, he activated it, and began to channel again. By that time, his arm wasn’t sore anymore, not that he’d have felt it in chaos. Continuing his training, he force an amazing amount of chakra toward his fist at once. It sparked for a second weakly and went away. He smiled once, sure that that was some kind of progress. However, it was only starting. Continuing from there, he tried to close his fist around the around the chakra. As soon as he moved a muscle, the chakra dispersed into the air around him. Dissapointed, he reprimanded himself and started again.
This time, the chakra began surging toward his arm uncontrollably. Just then, chaos cut off, and his body returned to normal, causing the pain to finally reach him. It knocked him like a ton bricks. He however grit his teeth, and with stood the pain long enough to calmly sit back down. Immediately afterwards, he rose again and resumed his training. After two hours of simply channeling chakra repeatedly, he managed to get a constant flow of chakra to his right arm. He could hold the chakra there, and build on to it. However, every time he attempted to harness it by closing his hand around it, the chakra dispersed, leaving him with nothing but remnants of a failed jutsu.
Knowing that it had to do with his control, he went back to where he started. He thought his problem was that while he was getting a consistent flood of chakra, it was happening to slow for it to be utilized. Concentrating once more, Garr began channeling the chakra to his arm. Using all of his mental capabilities, the speed of the flow slowly began to speed up. When he first started this training, it took a full minute just to channel a base amount of chakra. After wards, it had sped up and cut the time in half. That seemed like a grand feet, but it really wasn’t. Thirty seconds on a single jutsu would usually result in a quick death for the user. But here, he’d cut the time down to about ten seconds. It would suffice for the moment. Looking around the area he’d chosen to train in, he decided to take a small break behind a large boulder just a few yards off.
