The travel to Kawa No Kuni was a rather long one, longer than both he and his fellow shinobi had expected. Neither one of them had actually been out of the village before, but they managed to find their way alright. Upon entering River country, the two had to split up - it seemed that Kiros had wanted to do his job on his own. You see, there was a man - Yuuto - that was terrorizing this country and he had been asked to take him out in favor of the nearby villages. Once they arrived there, Kiros had motioned for Kouketsu to leave. He hadn’t known why, but it didn’t matter, for it gave him a chance to explore, gave him the chance to get to know the lands. He had been getting weird ideas lately, ideas about what was out in the real world and not holed up within Kumogakaure. To put it simply - going missing.
He had had made his departure from the huge bridge of which Kiros and him had separated, motioned off by the use of three fingers. It rather struck the boy deep that he wasn’t able to help, but older he was and Kouketsu forced to obey. The thought of wandering alone had thrilled the boy so. There were no eyes watching him, no elders to report to, no punishment for crimes if they happened to be committed - the form of free life seemed amongst the best the world had to offer. The bridge they had came from - he decided to follow it. With no idea of where he was going, he made a simple assumption. All river’s pour its rich fruition into an even bigger body of water, flowing over the edge of the cliff in a form known as a waterfall, only to repeat the process in due time.
His travel would be cut short, for he would need to rest. His figure would fall down upon that of a rather large boulder within the lake. His shoes would be removed - a means to allow his feet some comfort. The current of the water was smooth against the appendages, the moist and gentle nature soothing all that they touched. In reality - water was the best combatant. Unlike Earth, which blocked everything and fire, which burned everything in its path - water simply flowed around obstacles in its way. It flowed around their opponents guard, eventually wearing the attacker out with the waste of energy being exerted from attempting to crush the moisture beneath his heels.
A form of calmness enveloped the Sakurai - a feeling that would sooth even the most roughest of creatures.
Sitting there with his legs dangling within the water, Kouketsu unlocked his tenketsus. He had no particular use for them at the moment, but his chakra would slowly become in tuned with the gentle feeling of the moisturizing, soothing liquid. Preparations - one could call it. In an uncharted land, with unknown enemies, the Sakurai would need to know techniques that mimicked that of the territory, giving him a great advantage over any that he should cross paths with. A worthy amount of power would be needed in this uncharted territory; His strength had grown greatly within his stay in Kumogakure, but it would grow even more during his stay away. And with that - the chakra would begin to shift.
Ebony occuli peered forth into the water, watching the little denizens of its fortification roam around freely, weary of predators. The creatures seemed happy with their lives and as they continued - as small fish managed to bump into Kouketsu’s foot. It came as a surprise when the fish didn’t scurry away in a rush, but it began to circle the appendage, as if it was something of interest. It would take the boy awhile before he noticed, but it seemed the chakra in his feet had began to pick up the current, radiating it from his foot and only with the activation of his Nikaku, would he see the truth.
