It was a nice day in the Hidden Village of the Mist, well as nice as days get around there. Little was known about the place in terms of knowledge of other places. Shakou, however, knew his home very well. He was walking around the village in his formal gear, whistling a tune to help cure his boredom. His boredom grew too much, so he just sat down. Not that much longer, he fell asleep.
He was suddenly hit in the head after some time. "Ouch! What did you do that for?!" the young guy exclaimed at the shadow of the person that stood over him. After blinking a bit, he noticed who it was. It was one of his teachers, and by the look on his face, he wasn't too happy. "Did I forget something?"
"Yes you forgot something! You asked me to wait for you at the dojo at noon," said Kuwashii, Shakou's sensei. He looked down at Shakou with a dark look, one that the teenager saw a lot. Kuwashii was usually very nice to all his students, but that was because they wren't crazy like Shakou.
"What time is it now?" responded the boy, rubbing his eyes and yawning. He obviously didn't think he was that late.
"It's almost 3'OClock! You've been keeping me waiting! Idiot!" Kuwashii struck Shakou on the head again, resulting in the same scream as last time. "You're still going to train, though." Right after those words, Kuwashii grabbed the back of Shakou's clothes and started to drag him to the dojo.
"That hurts, stop it! Please, Kuwashii-sensei!" yelled Shakou. He whined and whined. Kuwashii tried to ignore his student for as long as possible, but he soon got fed up.
"Shut it! Consider this punishment for making your teacher wait without sending notice!" scolded the teacher. He mumbled for the rest of the way to the dojo. He was so angry that he dragged Shakou up the steps, each time hurting him more and more. Shakou was very relieved when they finally got to the practice range. There were targets set up just for him. Calm again, Kuwashii said, "Alright, I want you to watch what I do. And don't fall asleep. Please, Shakou." Shakou's teacher stood behind white line set up for practice. He threw needles into each target, hitting them perfectly. He then did it again, hitting the needles that were already in place. After a couple more times repeating that, he finally stopped and beckoned Shakou over. "Your turn." Kuwashii crossed his arms, narrowing his eyes to watch Shakou.
Shakou took out his needles and threw at the targets. He was barely concentrating, which made his needles barely even hit the targets. The ninja hoped that his teacher wouldn't be unhappy. Unfortunately for him, that wasn't the case. It wasn't too long until Kuwashii yelled right into his ear, "Do it again!"
"Yes, sensei!" Shakou shouted out quickly. He tried to concentrate more, throwing his needles in an attempt to hit the targets. He saw a bird while in the middle of it, making him miss some of the targets completely. Shakou soon felt a smack on the back of his head from his teacher. "I'm sorry, Kuwashii! I won't be distracted again!" A long, drawn out sigh came out of both their mouthes. Shakou sighed because he didn't want to be hit again. More importantly, he wanted to do something more fun. Kuwashii sighed about how stupid Shakou was at times. More needles came from Shakou's hands, hitting the targets, but not as accurately as Kuwashii. As he reached for more of his needles, he realized that he had thrown them all. "Sensei, may I go get my needles from the targets?"
"Go ahead," said Kuwashii. He had lightened up after seeing Shakou actually focusing. His student went on to pick up all the needles he could. "Perhaps he does have a chance to be a true Shinobi," he thought to himself, smiling about how foolish his student was at times. How odd it was. Sometimes he hated Shakou's stupidity, but sometimes he liked it.
