Effect: The Boxer Throws the straight right punch and twists the body by that punch, stepping the right foot forwards. The Boxer must consider about the distance between him and the opponent. The target is the chin or the heart of the opponent. This trick is used for attack, defense, or escape. If used for attack use both left and right alternately. To Protect: Brushes it with the fist or the arm which in the front, if the opponent boxer is a right handed fighter, the user will use the left fist or the left arm to swipe the punch out to the left side.

Drawback: The Boxer can throw the tiptoe to the opponent's abdomen to prevent the punch, if the opponent boxer is left handed fighter do the opposite.
Description: Picture The Straight Punch is one of the heaviest punches in all of Muay Thai. It can be used in attack and defense. If used properly it can stop your opponent right in his tracks. However if used at the wrong moment it may put the boxer in a difficult situation because if the punch misses the target the boxer will have wasted a lot of energy and will be left exposed to a counter attack. The strength of this punch comes from moving the foot forward and from the transfer of force from the leg to the moving body and finally to the fist. To further enhance the power in his punch the boxer must twist his hips, waist, and shoulder while punching. The result is a very powerful blow that draws upon the boxer's weight, the muscles of the feet, legs, hips, waist, and shoulders, and the proper technique in releasing the punch for its forcefulness. For a right-handed boxer, the stance is with the left foot forward. From this stance, the left foot slides forward. At the same time, the boxer pushes off the ball of the right foot, pushing with his body forward. Next, the boxer should turn his hips and right shoulder towards the opponent, twisting the waist simultaneously. Pivoting around the torso, straightening the right arm, and release the punch. When releasing the punch, the fist can be either at a right angle, open, or closed, with the arm fully extended and the elbow locked as the target is hit. To ensure maximum efficiency, the fist must be in a straight line as if punching through a wall. Maximum power is achieved once the left shoulder is in line with the hips at the completion of the punch. The chin should be tucked in at all times, and the head should move from right to left along with the punch. Do not lower the left arm while delivering the punch as this will expose the body to a counter attack by the opponent. Do not show in advance, by moving your han backward, that you are going to throw a straight punch. After delivering the straight punch the fist must be returned quickly to the guard up position.
Variation:
Full Body Straight Punch - This straight punch uses the force of gravity thrown in the perpendicular plane. The boxer throws himself forward and the momentum of his falling body is added to the punch making it very powerful. To practice this punch, start by standing at ease with guards up. Then move either foot forward and use the rear leg to push the body forward, similar to falling forward towards the target. TThe momentum from this movement transfered to the arm and fist, giving the punch its characteristic power.
Over the Shoulder Straight Punch - This punch is released by a sudden jerking and twisting of the body. It derives its power solely from the muscles and is less powerful than the other versions of the straight punch. It is best used in close fights and emergencies. To practice this punch, when a punch is thrown with the left hand, the right hand is automatically jerked backwards. As a result, the muscles of the shoulder, back, stomach, waist, and the two legs will work together transferring the weight from one side of the body to the other. This twist of the body prepares one for an over the shoulder punch with the right hand. This twist should be practiced so that one is comfortable throwing the over the shoulder punch using the twist of the body and the corresponding transfer of body weight as the source of the punch's power.

Bendero opened the door to the gym and entered. The stench was awful. It reaked of sweaty people. On the west is were the punching bags are, on the north wall is were the weights are, and on the east is were the sparring ring is at. Bendero entered the gym and went to a corner to start preparing himself for his training. Bendero set down his bag, and began his calistetics. Bending down bringing his fingers to his toes, spreading his legs apart and alernating touching his fingers to his toes on both right and left sides, reaching his arms across his chest, pulling his arm behind his back, sticking his leg out and pushing against the wall, and then arching his back with his head and legs as posts and then twisting his neck around doing neck rolls. Bendero then got up and opened up his gym bag and pulled out the tape. He then taped his hands, and pulled the training gloves out of the bag. He then put those on, and proceeded to the punching bags.
When he got to them the old man gym trainer put on some punching mitts and yelled out "Alright come on now let me see what you got." Bendero noded his head, and then threw his whole body forward with his punches. He was throwing full body straights, changing between left and right. "Come on brat put more weight behind these punches" yelled out the coach. The punches started making more sound on the mits, and the old man was holding on with his might. "No your not making them sharp enough now. Concentrate and execute." Bendero's punches now started slicing the air, and blasting the bag. "Relax start breathing. Your punches are losing weight put your body into it." Bendero's breathing started getting heavier, but he kept on going. He was throwing his whole body into these punches. "Alright your done you did good. Now start working on building up more power.
Bendero nodded his head and went to the weights. He then did 5 sets of 20 in pull ups, push ups, and sit ups. Then he did 5 sets of 15 in benching, squating , cleaning, dead lift, rows, and skull crushers. He then did 20 suicides.
"Alright that is enough." the old man said. Bendero's eyes then lit on fire, because he knew what was coming up next. "Come on brat your getting in the ring, and remeber to use the full body straight punch to see how well you practiced it." Bendero jumped inside the ring "Ok old man just send the guy in already. You got a new one right. Some fresh meat." Bendero then started jumping up and down continuosly. One of the other gym members then got into the ring, and they both put on head gear. Bendero then looked at the old man and said "Ora Ora Ora why does this guy look so much like a wuss I thought you were gonna get me better sparring matches old man." "Shut up and start boxing." Just as the old man said that the other guy threw a strong hook at Bendero. As it swiped his head almost cleany he followed up with another. Bendero then managed to dodge this one completly. The opponent continued pushing Bendero, but he kept on dodging and parrying. "Come on is that all you got. I was hoping to be able to sweat a little." Then the swings just kept getting wider, and Bendero threw a light left counter straight which pushed his opponent back a little, and then followed up with a full body straight which landed right in his opponents face. K.O. "That was pathetic." said Bendero got out of the ring and then he packed up and left. As he was leaving the old man yelled out "Make sure you do your road work." And Bendero waved.
