Shunshin no Jutsu (Body Flicker Technique)
Type: D-rank, Supplementary, Ninjutsu
Users: Hatake Kakashi, Gaara, etc.
A high-speed movement technique. It is described as 'appearing with the wind and disappearing like the wind.' It's a very basic jutsu and it appears that most shinobi above Genin-rank know it.
Using chakra to activate the body, the user is able to move from one point to another with extreme speeds. This super-fast movement is almost impossible to see with the naked eye. To a normal person, it would seem as if the user has teleported. The amount of Chakra used depends on the distance and elevation between the user and the destination.
Among the many users and villages, various variations of Shunshin no Jutsu exist. Gaara, for instance, uses the so-called "Suna-Shunshin" (, "Sand Body Flicker"), which uses sand to cover the user's movement. Other varieties include "Kiri-Shunshin" (, "Mist Body Flicker"), "Mizu-Shunshin" (, "Water Body Flicker"), and "Konoha-Shunshin" (??, "Tree Leaf Body Flicker").
Uchiha Shisui, one of the most talented Uchiha, was feared as Shunshin no Shisui (Shisui of the Body Flicker). This is probably a reference to this jutsu

"Ugh.." Kii was dreading this day. He had to begin training. He wondered about himself, however, why he hated it? Did he have something better to do? He, after all, enjoyed fighting. It was like taking his rage out on someone else, and there was a lot of rage and sorrow pent up inside him. So why, then, did he dread this training so much? He figured it was because he doubted himself so much. "Well...I should be pumped up about this...Heh...Like I'd ever get really pumped up about anything...I'll probably fail at whatever I'm doing, anyways...."
Shimizu often found himself thinking aloud, mainly expressing his doubts about his own abilities. Not using his arms, Kii “pushed” himself up into a sitting position upon his bed, his covers still over his waist, and everything below. Using his left hand, he crossed it over, taking a hold of the edge of his sheets, and pulled them aside, so they folded neatly into a right triangle. Shifting over, his legs fell off his bed, dangling so that he sat upon its edge. Yawning and stretching, he rose, his feet flat upon the floor, “Eh…I guess I’d better get to work…” He sighed as he headed for his shower. He always felt so dirty when he got up, and his long hair was messy.
Quickly, he relieved himself of his shower, dressing himself and heading into the cold of the snow outside. When he had been younger, his father had taught him some basic things, though he wasn’t sure weather he wanted his son to become a shinobi. He had mastered these techniques, and now it was time for him to move on, and help himself.
Footprints were easily seen, forming at first from Kii’s home, ending in a large bunch near a small lake near the gate of town, where he had walked about a bit.
“Shunshin…No Jutsu…” Shimizu thought aloud once again, stating the name of the jutsu for which he would practice, “Alright…”
I need to focus chakra into my body, and move. I need to focus on speed at first, and I’ll get chakra control later. This is tiring… He thought, for once not form his mouth. Chakra filled his body, though much more than he should be using. He figured he would start out with more chakra than needed so that he could get speed down, and lessen his chakra needed later. “It really shouldn’t be much…” He said aloud, referring to the amount of chakra he would use for the technique.
He began to move, still visible to the naked eye. He knew that a speed much faster was attainable for much less chakra with the skill, though it was still fairly fast, it was not usable in battle. He had quite a ways to go, and he noticed many footsteps from his path in the snow. Turning, he looked upon a hill, upon where he filled his body with chakra, moving towards the hill. He moved as a blur, still fairly visible to a naked eye.
“You dumbass…” He stated as he arrived at the top, referring to himself, “Can’t even master such a simple technique alone…” His usual talk consisted of such things, involving putting himself down. Either way, he knew he had to keep trying, weather he thought it troublesome or not. Pumping up the amount of chakra a bit, it was now about double that of which he should be using. Dashing down the hill, he moved as a blur at first, before totally disappearing and reappearing, just as he should.
“Well…There we go…I-I didn’t figure I could do it…Not that doubling the chakra is impressive…” Sighing. “Well…It’s time to work down…” Lessening the chakra he had used a bit, he dashed forward. A Blur appeared and disappeared just as fast as it had came, before reappearing around twenty meters ahead, where Kii had arrived. “Progress….Doubt much more will come...Though…”
Readying himself once again, he attempted to lessen the chakra infused within his body as he dashed forward. He felt himself start out at an extreme pace, as he should, but he soon slowed, arriving with a slide around twenty meters ahead, though his time slowed by multiple seconds. He had appeared as a blur as he did, and he knew so. “Damnit…” He cursed, only aimed towards himself, and began to try again. Practice, practice, practice.
Disappearing, once again with the same amount of chakra within him as his failed attempt just before, he disappeared in a blur, reappearing only a split second later twenty meters back, where he had been standing his try before. Accomplishing his task, he moved on without words or much thought, turning once again to the hill. He felt it was nice to at least mix it up a bit.
The chakra infused within him that he needed to use the technique was around two fourths more than it should be, and he attempted his dash again. Successful, he disappeared, reappearing as if he had teleported around twenty meters away.
“Just a little more….” He thought, the training was already tiring, but he had to keep trying, “I probably can’t do this, though.” This time, however, hadn’t gone so smoothly as before. He tripped upon a rock as he made his way down, already losing speed. He flipped forwards, multiple time, before landing on his back with a crash, sending snow everywhere. “dam-” He was cut off as a large clump of snow fell atop him, knocked off by his fall into the tree.
Rising a bit angrily, mainly with himself, from the snow, he lessened his chakra, dashing over, with only the intention of arriving home. However, he had accomplished his latest goal, and his next step was around the amount he should be doing. “I-I…Guess I c-can…” He whispered as he turned, his pupils a bit small. Shifting his weight, he laughed a bit, but soon fell into a serious mode, realizing his doubts in himself that he could accomplish his final and ultimate goal.
Lessening his chakra just as before, it seemed a bit routine now, he launched himself forward, awaiting his results.
((I’ll post the results once I get graded and see my score…))
