Several minutes pass and in the meantime Satoshi has devised a way to push his chakra to the limits to make the adaptation complete. Standing from his seat on the pond's southern back, the Uchiha walks out into the center of the pond by using a constantly fluctuating flow of chakra in his feet to give him the ability to walk on water. This handicap will actually help him in this training exercise.

Unlike the previous attempts, Satoshi plans on not applying his hands to a close proximity to the water's surface. Instead, he is going to use his chakra to bring the water to him. The young man stands with his feet moved to slightly outside shoulder width with each of his hands held to either side with the palms open and fingers spread. He closes his eyes and applies his utmost concentration to cycle a very large amount of chakra throughout his entire body with the hands being the primary focal points. Faint auras of light blue chakra would become visible to those with such abilities as his concentration reaches its peak.

Slowly the water in a five meter radius around his feet churn and bubble but don't cause the Kusa-shinobi to lose his footing and boyancy. From within the foaming brine long tendrils of glistening streams are pulled into the air and randomly coil around Satoshi. Once physical contact is made the liquid loses cohesion and falls back into it's natural state, only to be pulled back into the air around Satoshi.

Once he feels comfortable with the chakra and the assimilation, the Uchiha opens his eyes and flicks his right wrist slightly, using his chakra to pull the nearest streamlet of water into the air like a jet of water from a fountain. Immediately he flicks his left wrist to pull the same streamlet down and into a twisting pattern behind the small of his back, only to be pulled around his front and arc above his shoulder before falling into the pond again.

"I think that would suffice for now..." the Kusa Uchiha mutters before exiting the pond and walking back through the village streets.

To finalize his Suiton training Satoshi happens to cross by a flower shop with buckets of water left out to soak plants and herbs in. Two teenage girls are the only apparent people in the shop. The morning is boring and the expressions on their faces tell Satoshi that they are restless and bored with their employment.

He would remedy that. He looks at the largest bucket of water and slightly extends his hand towards the general direction while focusing his chakra upon the water. Small ripples race and lap across the surface and splash over the brim. The rippling ceases as large droplets of water are pulled into the air in front of the girls as they come over to investigate the strange phenomonon.

Before either of the girls could move the bucket Satoshi flicks his hand to launch the droplets of water into their faces along with a moderate stream directly into one girl's blouse, soaking it thoroughly to reveal her supple breasts beneath the white shirt. While they are wiping the water from their faces, Satoshi pulls more water out of the other buckets and sloshes it across the floor, causing the girls to lose their footing and fall into the pools of water.

In order to avoid being caught, Satoshi calls it enough and continues his venture through the village streets. Sometimes a little bit of chaos is a proof of concept that simple training can become entertainment.

Once again the Uchiha who calls Kusagakure his home is returning to the private dojo of Uchiha Setsuna, the master of the Gyakusatsu that Satoshi is a practitioner of. As usual the young man wears his blue shozoku and other raiment, and at his hip is his katna he named "Hagun". Recently he's learned how to harness the power of Water and now he wishes to further his knowledge in swordsmanship.

He walks up to the dojo and opens the sliding door and enters formally, bowing to the floor to show his respect and as well as to his sensei. He removes Hagun from his hip and leaves the sword propped in the corner where he also removes his footwear, leaving it all at the door. Before stepping onto the dojo floor, Satoshi pops his neck and bows yet again.

"It's been a while Satoshi-kun. I was starting to think you abandoned the dojo.." Setsuna comments from her meditative position before the center shrine.

"I apologize Sensei, but I was on a very long mission with an incompetent partner. I requested the team be disbanded and I be appointed to another team, but that hasn't been processed yet. I returned as soon as possible to continue my training. What are we going to be learning today?"

Setsuna smirks then stands and turns to face Satoshi. She bows to her student and takes a pair of bokken, offering one to Satoshi who takes it.

"Today's technique is called 'Kyuu Boufuu' and it is a relatively non-lethal technique in comparison to other techniques. Let's begin. Come at me with any kind of attack you desire.." Setsuna remarks as she steps back into the Chuuhan no Shisei stance. Satoshi narrows his eyes slightly and nods to accomdate his sensei's wishes. He simply lunges at her with an overhead cleaving attack.

Suddenly Setsuna slaps Satoshi's bokken to the side which offsets his balance, only to lead him face-first into the flat side of her bokken which stuns him momentarily. Before he can regain composure, he feels himself falling victim to a snap kick to his leg and being thrown to the ground. He opens his eyes and finds himself being held at swordpoint with Setsuna looking down upon him with an active Sharingan.

"Surely you can grasp what happened. When an enemy attacks you, you parry the attack and immediately attack the face or head with a blunt-side attack to stun them. They will be blinded by pain for several moments which gives you ample time to get into their centerline. From there you would snap kick their furthest leg and sweep them into a throw to the ground where they would be victim to whatever else you wish to give them. As you can see I have you within mere inches of a killing stroke.[/]"

Satoshi could only nod and stand once Setsuna creates a Kage Bunshin for him to train with. The clone is a perfect replica of his sensei, complete with an activated Sharingan that is equal if not more powerful than Satoshi's own. The real Setsuna moves to the side and props herself up with her bokken to watch the battle ensue.

"Satoshi, your goal is to use the technique I just shown you against my clone here. If performed right you'll have managed to inflict enough damage to dissipate it. If not, it will kill you.."

Satoshi narrows his eyes and glares at the clone, not fearing death nor the impending threat of such. He raises his bokken and assumes the same stance as Setsuna, that of the Chuuhan no Shisei. He continually keeps moving and strafing in a circular pattern around the clone who has her own steel sword held up. Without warning the bunshin leaps at Satoshi with a right-to-left sideslash at Satoshi's neck meant to decapitate him.

Before the blow can land and kill him, Satoshi thrusts his bokken up at an outward angle, deflecting the steel sword to the side which allows Satoshi to slide up the length of the blade where he plants the side of his bokken into the clone's face. He feels the bones crunch and watches the bunshin drop her sword to grip her face, which gives Satoshi an immediate cue to kick her left leg out from under her with a hard right kick against the knee. Feeling the clone drop her weight Satoshi grips her training gi and throws her over his shoulder and onto her back right at his feet. Unfortunately, the clone poofs into a cloud of smoke before Satoshi can follow up with anything else.

"Flawless. Absolutley flawless execution Satoshi."

The Uchiha bows to his sensei and smirks, feeling this technique to be too easy to learn.

Drawback: You must know the technique that the opponent is doing. In order to stop a certain type of technique the user must know the rank for that technique. This means in order to stop D you must know D. In order to stop S you must know S.
Description: A strong technique that has been passed down from ninja to ninja just in case of a ninja is being attacked by a technique that may go against the person and that they know the technique. The user must know the technique in order to stop the technique in question. When a technique is already out in play the user is unable to stop the technique. The user must try to stop the technique during the preparation of the technique. A very helpful technique indeed if the opponent attacks with a technique that has a long preparation. In order to stop a D Rank Technique the user must learn the D Rank version of this technique. In order to stop a C Rank Technique the user must learn the C Rank version of this technique. In order to stop a B Rank Technique the user must learn the B Rank version of this technique. In order to stop a A Rank Technique the user must learn the A Rank version of this technique. In order to stop a S Rank Technique the user must learn the S Rank version of this technique.

Rather than continuing with further and intermediate Gyakusatsu training, the middle-aged Uchiha Satoshi just walks down the village streets pondering how to diversify his powers. He knows three elemental affinities, how to handle a sword adequately, and fairly adept in genjutsu. However, throughout his abilities, he has little to no defensive power. To remedy this, he has done a bit of research and uncovered a technique that is capable of neutralizing other techniques with certain criteria.

This technique is one that is fairly well known throughout the shinobi world, and requires knowledge of the enemy's technique in order to be neutralized and abolished. As to how this is accomplished, Satoshi is not sure. So far he can only conjecture as to what needs to be done.

He would need to find a partner. Satoshi does not know the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu so he is unable to practice by himself. His partner would have to be somebody knowledgeable in ninjutsu as well as genjutsu so Satoshi would be able to explore its depths and unlock the secrets. The young Kusagakure genin continues to walk through the streets in search of such a partner. He finds nobody for several minutes until he sees a younger genin practicing a Katon jutsu in an open glade nearby.

"Hey you, care to train with me?" Satoshi calls to the kid while approaching him. The genin doesn't answer, but rather turns and forms some hand seals and creates a fireball in his right hand. Satoshi recognizes this technique, the Fireball Jutsu, and takes a few steps back.

Just as the genin throws the fireball, Satoshi forms a short pattern of hand seals and raises his right hand up to create a strong flow of Katon chakra inside the palm. When the fireball comes in contact with his palm, the chakra expands and engulfs the flames, then contracts and smothers the fireball to extinguish it. Purely by reflex, Satoshi managed to neutralize the Fireball Jutsu.

"How did you do that? I'll bet you can't do it again!" the genin asks as he forms another fireball and hurls it at Satoshi's chest. Again, Satoshi would form the same seals as before and thrust his right palm out with a strong field of Katon chakra flowing through the appendage. The fireball enters the field of chakra and is pulled in at a slow rate, then minimalized so the flames fail to harm Satoshi until it is put out entirely.

The other genin just turns his nose up and walks away, leaving Satoshi alone.

"Now that's interesting..." Satoshi mutters before going his own way.

Unlike his normal meandering throughout the village streets and wandering through the hustle and bustle of the public, Uchiha Satoshi has in his captivity a stray dog tied to a medium sized tree sapling. The dog is bound with ninja wire just firm enough to hold but not cut the dog's flesh. Of course, it still struggles and growls at Satoshi as he stands eight meters away.

"Sorry to do this to you mutt, but your life is meaningless and you're a burden upon society. So, to give your life some meaning in death, I shall use you to practice a new Katon jutsu in which you will die and become useful..." Satoshi mutters to the dog as he kneels to the ground upon one knee. The dog hears the shinobi's words and whines softly, knowing its death is near.

For Satoshi to accomplish this he must form the handseals and press his hands unto the ground. At which time his chakra would have to be projected into a linear pattern and end in a circular form so the flames can form a ring, then solid circle of fire. Then the technique would be complete and his victim would be engulfed in flames and killed.

Taking a full second to form each hand seal and using a split second delay between seals, Satoshi pulls from his chakra reserves some Katon chakra and pools it into his palms. He then presses his palms against the ground in front of him and pouring out the chakra previously molded. Using his concentration and control over his Katon affinity, he extends the chakra into a line emanating in front of him. Immediately it bursts into flames, creating a line of fire racing out towards the dog. As the flames reach the mutt Satoshi splits the chakra in half to both sides which pulls the flames to the outside and snakes around to complete the ring of fire.

By this time the dog is barking and yelping wildly with a frantic shriek in each bark. Satoshi merely frowns at the disturbance while the chakra closes in around the dog, pulling the flames closer and closer until it completes the pooling. Immediately the dog's fur is set ablaze, searing the top layers of skin and flesh as the flames leap higher until they reach their limit of two meters.

Within minutes the dog is a charred husk of flesh and smoldering fur, so Satoshi stands up and ends the technique, leaving the flames to continue burning the dog into ash.

"That'll do dog...that'll do..." the Uchiha mutters as he glares at the flaming corpse. His eyes catch the fire's glint and reflection just before he turns away go to about his day.

Once the four required hand seals are formed, the user would lock eyes with the target and the ground beneath the target to appear to open into a wide chasm. While the chasm is not real, the target would feel a sense of vertigo and believe he/she is falling into the chasm. Due to this sense of equilibrium disruption, the target's movements would be debilitated for one full turn.

The afternoon is halfway over with just as Satoshi, a genin and resident Uchiha of the Kusagakure shinobi roster, finishes writing a new Genjutsu upon his medium-sized scroll. He looks over it several times, making sure all of the loose ends are tied up and everything is covered to make the technique complete. He calls it the Tsuishi no Jutsu which is capable of instilling a sense of falling into a single target. Satoshi wraps the scroll up and leaves it sitting atop the massive wooden desk in his top floor apartment before taking his sword 'Hagun' and leaving. He would have to test this on living targets in order to perfect it.

Before he could test his new Genjutsu and take it into more actual field practice, he would have to go through the formation of the hand seals, the molding of the chakra, the projection of the chakra, and the images required to instill the sense of falling into the target's mind. He needs to find a quiet place where he can do this then immediately begin testing on a living test subject. He ponders for several minutes about several different locations, but each has a flaw until he comes up with the perfect place in which he could train and not be disrupted.

The shinobi academy’s training field.

While he has in fact been graduated from the academy for nearly two decades, Satoshi still finds it quite useful, especially when it comes to harvesting fresh test subjects for various training regimes. He also enjoys how on some days he would be alone to his thoughts as several remember him and his dark, unforgiving past. With that destination chosen and subjected to memory, Satoshi flees his apartment and casually strolls to the training field, using back alleyways and cross streets to shorten his traveling distance. Within the span of ten minutes, he reaches the training field.

The Uchiha finds that he is alone on such a clear afternoon. Sometimes this is the case but it is usually uncommon to be such. He carefully scans the surroundings and takes careful mental notes of some constructs used for projectile training like the pop-up dummies made of wood or straw. He could use those in random activation to put himself into a mock-combat situation where he would use the formation process of the Genjutsu to hone his timing and reflexes.

“Better get started before somebody arrives…” he mutters to himself while approaching the center of the training field. First he must acquaint himself with the formation of the hand seals with the molding of the chakra using what is known as the Figment Perception. Easily Satoshi slides his left foot out until his feet are roughly shoulder width apart at which time he would bend his knees and evenly distribute his bodyweight for purely comfort and stability reasons. He would then bring his hands up to about chest level and form the four hand seals he felt would adequately manipulate the chakra for the desired effects.

Dragon.. Tiger.. Serpent.. Bird.. are the seals he forms slowly for several attempts before cycling his chakra flows. Once he feels more comfortable with that seal formation sequence, he speeds up the pace until his seal formation is rapid and precise. After the seals are capable of being formed rapidly, Satoshi creates the flow of chakra throughout his body that is formed via hand seals and collected into his eyes. Feeling the chakra pulsating, he waits to open his eyes until he hears the dull, wooden thud of the dummy’s activation, informing his sense of hearing the dummy is upright and locked into position for several seconds. At which time he opens his eyes, he releases the chakra towards what would be his target, the opponent’s eyes. If one had chakra sensing capabilities, one would see the flow of chakra as an amorphous stream meant to lock the opponent’s eyes and mind into the visions created by Satoshi.

Such visions would be the ground appearing to crack and separate into a wide chasm directly beneath the opponent’s feet, causing them to believe they are falling and the heightened sense of vertigo would cause their balance and equillibrium to fall out of synchronization, thus reinforcing the sense of falling into the chasm despite it not being real.

At the time the visions would have been implanted into the opponent’s mind, the dummy’s prop is released and pulls it back down into its protective housing where it is stored until the next use. This ends the chakra flow projection Satoshi is still emanating, thus aborting what would have been the newly developed Genjutsu.

“Time to find a living target to try this out on..” the Uchiha smoothely says. He turns to leave the field, but stops as if fate was giving him what he wanted.

A young, stout teenage male genin is walking out into the field.

“Perfect..” Satoshi mutters as he turns to smirk at the kid.

The moment the teenager enters the training field, Uchiha Satoshi approaches him and smacks him across the face purely to anger him and draw him into a combat situation. Being no coward, the teenage genin attacks the elder genin with a flurry of fists, only to miss every blow due to Satoshi evading backwards and parrying some of the blows away with open palms. Basic martial arts are common knowledge to every shinobi.

Possessing the advantage of superior speed and reflexes, Satoshi easily manages to reach a ten meter distance from the boy, giving him ample time to set the genin up for his new Genjutsu technique. Satoshi quickly forms the four required hand seals while pulling a relatively moderate portion of his chakra from his reserves. Molding the chakra into the Figment Perception, Satoshi holds his eyes closed and uses his hearing to acquire a rough idea of where his opponent may be located. He does this by trying to lock onto the sound of the teenager’s footfalls due to his heavier weight making louder sounds against the ground. When Satoshi feels the teenager is close enough, he opens his eyes and releases the molded chakra into the same semi-amorphous waivering stream as he had done minutes ago.

The enemy genin is indeed foolish enough to look directly into Satoshi’s eyes, in which case is the key to locking oneself into the Genjutsu and allowing oneself to be taken into its effects. Once eye contact is established Satoshi uses the projected chakra to feed the genin’s mind the image of the ground opening up right underneath his feet into a gaping maw of a chasm. The teenager looks down into what he perceives as a fall to his death, screaming in sheer terror and stopping dead in his tracks as the chakra from the Genjutsu causes his brain to believe his body is falling.

On the outside of the Genjutsu Satoshi observes the boy’s full reaction to the technique. The technique was designed to instill fear and terror into the opponent by making them believe they are falling into a canyon of sorts, and thus their movements severely disrupted as a means of opening somebody up for a killing attack. The Uchiha watches the boy scream and flail about on the ground as he is watching himself fall into the chasm images created by Satoshi’s chakra. Just to play with him, the Uchiha runs up on him and uses his momentum and inertia while jumping into the air to perform a jump-spinning hook kick. The teen genin is left wide open and takes Satoshi’s heel directly on the side of the jaw, sending him twirling in the air and into the ground with a hard impact. This would infact break the Genjutsu placed upon him, but it does not matter. The proof of concept is validated as Satoshi was capable of delivering an attack and the opponent not being capable of defending himself. That is all the Genjutsu is truly meant to do as Satoshi is a killer, and anything that allows him to kill easier is more valuable than gold.

“You’ve served your purpose. Farewell..” Satoshi says to the boy as he is just coming around from the kick’s force. Satoshi kind of waves in a leaving gesture and vacates the training field before he is turned in for attacking and using jutsu against a fellow Kusa-shinobi.

Description: The after image technique is the technique that allows the user to move side to side with extreme speed and towards a general direction creating an after image of the person. When learning this technique a person may only do Ten after images per day. If one wishes goes more then this number tissue has a chance to rip and tear. To be able to do more then ten per day one they must train for each again to create one more. This is the basis techniques for all techniques that may consist or deal with moves that deal with the After Image. This means that if a user wishes to know a technique that uses an after image they must have knowledge of this technique as well. Depending on how many after images a user uses within a technique is dependent on how many times this technique is known.

The midnight hours are approaching as the citizens of Kusagakure no Sato turn in and retire for the night. Some wind down and relax from a long and audruous day, some some to sleep while some come alive. The Uchiha genin known by the formal name of Satoshi is one with irregular hours of activity. He seeks hours of opprotunity in which he could expand his boundries of strength and power. The twilight hours are often the best should one be seeking to train and remain unmolested. Tonight is one of those nights. Although it is still the warm season of the year, the insects and birds are all quiet for the night. Some nocturnal creatures stir but rarely venture into the village itself.

Tonight, Satoshi will greatly enhance his speed and physical reflexes by training into a taijutsu technique known as Sugizou. This technique allows one to move at near superhuman speeds in which one creates an after-image of oneself meant as a decoy or diversion from another attack or escape. Such an ability would prove greatly useful in many ways, but mainly he must learn this for his Gyakusatsu training.

“Satoshi-kun, you must learn to move faster. Gyakusatsu is a sword technique in which you slay your opponent quickly and efficiently so they have little to no time to react. You can do this in several ways, but for now you should learn how to create images of yourself outside the realm of bunshin. Do some research and you should uncover such a technique…” Setsuna had told him earlier that day. Satoshi sought her teachings in the Gyakusatsu, but to learn the next level of techniques he must learn how to move faster. So he retreated back to the village archives and learned about the Sugizou technique.

Now he must put his research into actual practice.

Satoshi’s training region of choice is once again the village’s shinobi academy, or more specifically the training field contained therein. He intends to use the pop-up training dummies as mock enemies in which to use this technique and move between them. He would also use his bokken from Setsuna-sensei’s dojo to ‘tap’ the dummies to simulate a sword attack while using the Sugizou.

Before he could do this he must first learn how to even perform the technique. Based on what he had read in the village archives, he must move rapidly back and forth in the direction in which he wishes to move in. For instance if he wanted to move forward he would have to use a to-and-fro movement with great strength and reflexes. The same principle would apply if he wished to move to either side or even upwards. How he could do this he has only an inkling so for now he would have to rely upon trial and error to figure out the key.

He starts by taking the center of the training field and ignoring the pop-up dummies for the time being. Taking a kind of generic fighting stance with his feet shoulder width apart and body turned sideways, Satoshi begins by creating a full flow of chakra throughout his entire body, but concentrates the flow the strongest in his legs. This is a test to see if it is the force of movement is responsible for creating the after-image effect. He collects his thoughts and decides upon dashing to the right then forward, leaving the after-image at the angle which the two directions are perpendicular to each other.

He quickly dashes to his right for the span of six meters, then lunges forward with a burst of chakra from his legs and propelling himself forward greatly until he has reached another five meters before skidding to a stop and pivoting so he is turned around to view the direction he had came. Looking back, he sees a very faint and short-lived image of himself in a kind of running position just as it fades away. Apparently the after-images don’t stay active for very long before they dissipate back into nothing. This could prove to be a major crux in the technique, but it does provide scant diversionary tactics for other operations.

“I think if I gave it more chakra the image would have a more realistic appearance,” he thinks to himself, realizing his first image had a very vague likeness of himself before it vanished. If he wanted to make this technique truly excel, he would have to improve the image itself.

Satoshi takes the center of the training field once again after contemplating a new strategy. He would use the technique in a similar fashion as he had just done, but with additional chakra releases and a much longer distance in an attempt to create multiple after-images in succession. Again he assumes the generic fighting stance as before and looks around himself to guage the distance of each dummy along his projected path. He also guages their timing and waits for the precise moment when he could attack each one after another with no interruptions.

Rushing forth to his left by fifty-seven degrees, Satoshi unsheathes his bokken as he approaches the midpoint from point of origin to attacking range. At that exact moment he quickly sidesteps and lunges at the same time, using his chakra burst to carry him into a diagonal trajectory on what would be the first wooden dummy’s right side. The place where he had released the chakra from his bodily cycle stands a nearly perfect image of Satoshi with his sword raised high when the real Uchiha has already made his attack. A dull tap echos off the dummy as Satoshi is already on his way to the second dummy.

This one is a near one-hundred eighty degrees from the first dummy, thus forcing Satoshi to pivot around and reverse his course. He still continues the cycle of chakra throughout his body as he runs to the second target. It pops up and Satoshi is already making his move by darting to the right, leaving behind an image of him leaning to the side with his sword in his left hand. By the time the image begins to fade another wooden echo resounds off the training dummy just seconds before the third dummy pops up from its resting place.

The third target is seventy-one degrees from the second and is positioned so Satoshi is at a sideways angle. His breathing is becoming somewhat harder as sweat beads form on his forehead. So far he had used three images via Sugizou and his limit is ten before his body is racked with pain from muscular damage. For this one since it is relatively close to the second target, Satoshi decides to get a little fancy with it to see if the Sugizou works in another fashion. Tucking his bokken against his arm, the Kusagakure genin rolls onto his hands and carries his bodyweight over into a cartwheel. As soon as his feet touch the ground he releases another burst of chakra, thus leaving behind an image of himself in a crouched position with his sword coming around for an attack.

Thwack!

The third dummy has received its attack and Satoshi skids to a stop. He chooses not to engage against the other targeting dummies for now because he had miscalculated the strain on his chakra reserves by constantly flowing chakra throughout his body, releasing it in concentrated bursts, and sustained running sprints. His breathing is hard enough to show one that he had been working out intensely learning this new technique should one be capable of seeing him.

He takes a few minutes to rest on the ground by sitting in the lotus position so he may meditate on what he has learned thusfar should he need to reformulate another training regime.

"Congratulations on your progression into the next rank for Gyakusatsu, Satoshi-kun. I always knew you'd do well," Setsuna says to the younger Uchiha. The two swordsmen are once again in the middle of the training dojo that partially completes her compound. The two are wearing traditional white training kimonos and wooden bokken are tucked into each of their sashes. For now, they are enjoying tea together.

"Thank you Sempai. Your words of praise warm my very soul.." Satoshi responds while bowing and setting down his tea.

"Flattery will get you nowhere Satoshi. You have learned how to break through defenses and evade attacks, now you must learn how to appropriately form your own defense with just your sword and body strength. Come with me," the Gyakusatsu master says to her student. Both rise and leave the rest area and enter the formal training floor. As usual, the training floor is lined with tatami mats and decorating walls are various scrolls, weapons, and some plants. In the center of the north wall is a large Buddha statue with a small gong and shrine incorporated.

Without warning, Setsuna lunges herself at Satoshi with a single swift motion of her bokken arcs across Satoshi's chest. The younger swordsman answers by ripping his own bokken out of his sash and pulling it up to block the strike, but the transfer of energies sends a sensation of shock throughout his arms. The bokken clash and Setsuna manages to knock Satoshi back several feet.

As soon as his composure is recovered Satoshi reflects on what just happened. The simple attack had used alot of force and pushed Satoshi back through his defense. He needs to improve his stability and use some sort of measure to counteract her forward inertia. He could readily accomplish this by solidifying his base and using his innate strength to allow a cushioning effect to soften her attack.

Before he can assume any kind of ready stance, Setsuna once again goes on the offensive. This time, she attacks with a leaping downward cleave at the top of Satoshi's head. Satoshi answers by quickly holding his feet at shoulder width and lowering his bodyweight to absorb some if not most of the impact. He cuts more of the force out by meeting the downward cleave with his own upward horizontal block. Again the two bokken clash and they lower to almost touch Satoshi's face, but he stops the attack and repels Setsuna.

"Very good. Next instead of single strikes you're going to learn how to defend against combinations. Take a moment to rest and think."

Satoshi nods and takes a few minutes to stretch.

"So I need to directly counteract the attacking force with my own defensive capabilities and immediately repel the attacker. Attack and counterattack, direct and redirect.." Satoshi thinks to himself based on the experiences just moments ago from Setsuna attacking him. Apparently now he must apply his short-spanned knowledge against a combination attack. He would also have to introduce the element of timing to manage a feat such as this.

He assumes a kind of generic battle stance this time rather than an actual Gyakusatsu stance. That way he could learn how to react in a more spontaneous manner which would enhance his timing and reflexes by keeping his mind sharp. He holds his bokken up and fixes his eyes on Setsuna's middle torso so his peripheals are able to cover her entire body and see every movement. While he could just as easily activate his Sharingan and rely on that, he digresses. The man would much rather learn how to manage to predict and defend against attacks that would help preserve his chakra.

He nods to Setsuna, giving her the signal he is ready. Immediately the Gyakusatsu master attacks with the Seikouhou technique which is an attack from the front. The technique is simple but it is adequate enough for training purposes. Setsuna moves in and attacks with a horizontal attack across Satoshi's chest.

Like before Satoshi slips his foot across into a wider positioning whereupon he locks his legs out and blocks the attack with a side, double-handed block with his bokken held vertically. The two swords clash and immediately Setsuna redirects her bokken to complete the sword combination by pulling her sword to the right, using the curvature of the bokken to slide away from Satoshi's defenses. She finishes the attack with a one-to-eight diagonal cleave.

However, this attack is stopped as well as Satoshi uses Setsuna's own redirection to aid in his own. He pivots his left foot back and turns his upper body away from the attack while slashing horizontally, stopping Setsuna's blade dead in its tracks and holding it stead away from his body. His arms shake a little as his own physical strength is being exerted to hold Setsuna's bokken at bay.

The woman lets up and walks away from Satoshi.

"You did well. Rest for now."

He nods and sits down, doing just that.
