Working with ones hands {Mission}

Alexander flew into the earth capital, he could see the earth capital was in a state of ruin and they where slowly rebuilding it and he was there to help. He chose this mission mainly because he was strong and he all ways liked using his hands. If he was to be denied entry to stone he would have chosen a life of building but he was not resigned to that fate fortunately.

Landing neatly in front of a small tent where many of the workers where milling in and out of he could see that this was the tent that issued the jobs to the various volunteers. "I think I will start there" as he stood in the line. He stood in the queue for a few minutes as it shuffled along and he could see a nice looking elderly gentleman who was giving out the different tasks.

"Good morning young man" He said with a smile as he looked at him. "Nice to see a strapping young man such as yourself helping us" Alexander nodded and smiled nervously for a moment. The man took out a small piece of paper giving Alexander a note saying Brick Carrier needed to the west quatre Alexander looked at it and smiled "You fancy that young man?" Alexander nodded and then left the tent taking off towards the west district brick store.

Alexander landed gently down on the ground infrojnt of the brick storage. There he smiled at the man who looked at him with tired eyes. Alexander moved towards him and the man bent his head up to reach Alexanders eyes. "Oh your the new brick carrier? Ok well lets get you to work then, you will also be laying the bricks if your ok with that?" Alexander nodded as he was told this and he moved towards the brick station. There he was given a brick carrier where several loads of bricks would be stored up. To those stacking the bricks surprise when they stacked two layers they told him to be on his way and he merely replied "I can take more" in a quiet way.

They gave him several more layers, his brick carrier totaled about eight layers in total a lot even by the standards of the professional builders. Alexander then proceeded to run in the direction he was told to...well jog really but he was still moving faster than any of the men had anticipated. Arriving there he would soon set to work. He had delivered bricks to the area and he smiled at the men around. Who where all singing a small song. Alexander though he had been told in his forgotten past he had a nice singing voice didn't sing. It was somthing he had never liked doing and if he where to say that he has never liked it for as long as he could remember he would only be talking about a few months ago. He doesn't remember but he body does.

The men worked a good few hours singing htere little ditties and chatting away and Alexander appeared to be having a good time with them as they joked and he joined in it was the first time since joining stone that he had felt a sense of belonging the sad thing was though, they weren't stone nin. I think I'm going to like this place he said

Alexander and the men had finished working on the house they where building and he looked at it for a moment. It was a family home and it was one that Alexander would defiantly like to live in one day he was sure of it. He would also like a family but that he was not sure of. He seemed to feel as though he didn't actually belong in stone, the village that is. It wasn't the villagers per say it was just that everyone in the village had there friends and he, well had no one.

He also thought that any woman was out of his reach as his self esteem and as a result his confidence was very low, it was just his nature he guessed but when around women he was a little bit nervous to say the least and the Tsuchikages rude mission lady was definitely a bad example of women. He wondered for a moment as he reached the man who was giving out the orders and the group of men all had there brick carriers bar one who carried the tools. Well the tool carrier wasnt a man it was a little boy about nine or so. Alexander looked at him for a moment the young boy seemed content in his work but also very tired If this little kid is working, that old man is working why aren't the stone nin actually doing something? Do they not care for there capital

Looking at the people at the brick station they gave Alexanders new group of work friends a new job, this one was to build a new school for the children. Alexander thought that this was fantastic and he soon allowed the men stacking the bricks to fill him up to his eight layers. The other brick layers laughing as he was asking for more. He was actually getting a tad irritated that they just didn't pile it up until he said stop. As the group walked slowly towards there destination Alexander came next to the boy as he milled around speaking to everyone.

The boy was struggling with all of the tools. The men in the group where praising him and egging him on while he was moving but they where also weren't offering him assistance when he quite clearly needed it. When the little boy stopped and put the bag of tools down Alexander could see red marks on his hands. They where possibly the making of blisters and Alexander decided to act upon himself. Bending down slightly he picked up the tool bag and looked down on the small child. "I'll carry it for a while eh?" He said in a kind voice.

The child seemed glad that some one had thought of him while they where moving. They got to the area where the new school was and Alexander and the other men looked at the blue prints and got to work on the school. They worked passed mid day and then the mens stomachs would start to rumble and Alexander would laugh as all of the men sat down and started to eat there lunches. He smiled as he flew up into a tree and sat in it. Feeling the cool breeze and eating a small pork bun as he did. He liked pork you see and hated chicken. For some reason every time he ate it he vomited. His body almost rejected it, it rejected any bird for that matter.

The men finished there lunch and he smiled as he glided down all of them commenting on his wings and they bickered about nicknames for him. As they worked away the small boy would carry bricks to each man individually making sure that they didn't run out of them as they where working. It was really a very pleasant atmosphere for Alexander as he seemed to enjoy this very much. He started to think whether he was truly welcome in stone. He stopped for a moment as the small boy smiled at him and then passed him a few bricks. After a while the group finished up the school building and looked back on it pleased with themselves.

"Onto the next job lads" Said the 'leader' of the group as Alexander Smiled. The group moving onwards

Alexander and the group of men would arrive at the brick station once more after there lunch they all had renewed energy even the young boy who Alexander had helped out beforehand. Alexander took his usual eight layer stack as the men moved towards there next destination. They where going to be joining a larger group and they where going to help build a Hospital. "This should have been done first" Alexander said as they looked at him in a funny way. They greatly appreciated his help and company though as he was a welcome distraction. He was happy with them, maybe he would leave stone. Retire as a ninja. He wasnt sure but when he did eventually retire be it in the future or in the next few weeks he would definatly come and live here and possibly join these men with there building as he did love working with his hands. He wondered for a moment as the moved if he would still be friends with them by the time he work was done.

They where moving through the stone capital and Alexander had many things on his mind. This was perhaps the first time since he had started working with these men that he was deathly silent. He was pondering how fickle humans can be and he also wondered something. Why was I left? He just wasn't sure what it was about him was he unpleasant was he a bastard was he in the wrong crowd of people who knows.

The small child looked at him as he was silent. Staring into the distance and when they merged with the larger group the laughter resumed with all the men. They where laughing singing and milling around generally being builders and working on there tasks, the scaffolding was up and they where working on the second floor and Alexander was silent the entire time thinking to himself about his past and about his past self. Was his past self different. Was his past self disturbed all questions he would want answered.

Sure enough the men would finish the building and Alexander had helped with three thus far and he was smiling as they had with the assistant of about eight or nine groups of men. They finished the hospital and it was dark. Alexander flew up into the sky with his tools as the rest of the large group moved along looking at the Corner Stones skyline, it was still in a ruined state but it was slowly rebuilding. Alexander smiled for a moment, out of the blue there was a break in his sour mood, regardless of his past he was doing something worthwhile now and he was glad of it.

Alexander and the group of men arrived back at there station. Alexander was still silent. He wasnt quite sure what it was that had got into him but he had definitely decided that he was going to move onto the next mission soon. He rolled up his sleeves and it was starting to get dark. The group of men split off again and he took his usual eight stacks of bricks. He moved silently with his group, wondering about many things as he did. It was starting to get chilly and he was glad he had his long woolen coat. Though the young boy had no such luxury. Though that young child was content in his ways and he was definitely not one to moan so Alexander merely watched him and thought to himself. That boy has true strength

The group would start to work on the next two buildings together as they where houses that would be built next to each other. Alexander started on the first as he started to lay the bricks. He was being very methodical with his work and he was glad that he was doing something for his new home but a little...distressed that no one in his village seemed to want him. He was working away when he noticed the young boy who was carrying tools sleeping on a bench. The men let him sleep as he had worked hard all day and they genuinely thought he deserved ten fold of what he would be paid. They also thought he deserved a family.

Alexander took a break from his brick laying for a moment and walked over towards the boy thinking. He took off his coat and felt the chill on his arms as he rolled down the sleeves of his thick woolen jumper and then put his coat over the boy. The 'leader' of the group. Henry he was called walked over to where Alexander was laying bricks. "You've been silent for a while boyo" Alexander looked at the man with a blank face for a moment then snapping out of his little haze he opened his mouth to speak. "Oh, Yeh I just sorta been thinking" he stood for a moment thinking as he stated he was.

"What about?" The man asked as they both engaged in there work on the first building. "Oh nothing much Henry, just stuff" he muttered as he thought about the days work. They had mostly finished the first building so they moved onto the second building as they spoke Alexander couldn't help but ask. "What happened to Jackie over there then?" He asked as they where laying bricks. "Well, his parents where killed when the capital was destroyed. They where crushed under the building. But an orphanage hasn't been built yet. So he is stuck on the streets" Alexander thought for a moment as he wondered about his own past. About his own parents or if he even had any anymore.

He was working away and then Henry said something that Alexander didn't really get at first. "Its odd how your so Kind yet the rest of this place isn't" Alexander was dumbfounded for a moment but he was also a little curious. He didn't quite get it but it didn't matter. They where working on the second building and they got to the second floor of it and Alexander had been thinking for a long time. "Stone must be full of orphans then" He said but to his surprise Henry came out with something odd. "Thats the thing, its not. He is one of five. The other five are all old enough to join your villages ninja academy, but Jackie isn't. Even though he could beat anyone in a fist fight. I guess maybe he is not meant to be a ninja. Maybe he is meant for something different." Alexander silently nodded for a moment

He is meant for great things

The group of men worked on noisily and Alexander chatted with Henry about several things and then they finished the houses that they where building. Alexander looked at Jackie as he stirred from his sleep and he wondered if he could help. He couldn't though he was struggling to look after himself as it turned out but he was sure that one day he would come back. Maybe when he retired as a Ninja he would build, start and run an Orphanage for all the orphans of stone be there many be there few, He just didn't know.

Once he had said his goodbyes to everyone but Jackie he started to walk off when a small voice spoke out to him. "Urm you forgot your coat" It said and Alexander turned around smiling for a moment. "Keep it, come and find me in stone when you turn into a strong man. Come and find me when it fits you" He said hoping to give the small child incentive to become a strong and good man. He walked away smiling as he outstretched his wings and started to fly off towards stone.
