Daiki is not so much a complicated man as he is a confusing one, a man of many aspects that help form his being.
He gets what he wants. Not so much in the "My mommy said I couldn't get the Power Ranger doll, but then I cried, so she gave it to me" as the "Move out of the way" type. He will do what it takes to get what he desires. He may not get it right then, but he will get it, by hook or by crook, eventually.
This leads into the reason why he is generally such a cross, ominously silent man with an unbelievably short fuse. The first years of his life, he wanted nothing other than to become a ninja, to follow in his mother's and father's footsteps. Alas, he learned that, regardess of how hard he tried, his inability to mold chakra kept him from so much as joining the academy. And this desire to reach the unreachable has morphed into a hatred of it. Daiki truly loathes ninjas and, by association, all their customs and ways. In all truth, he would meet the demise of the ninja with glee. Alas, he knows that this is impossible, and has borne a chip on his shoulder for it.
This chip molded his personality. Daiki is reserved, cold, and truly dark. He feels no real value to most human life, but sees no need to let any go to waste by either letting or making it die. He tends to be short and to the point, rarely saying anything if at all. Further, he has an incredibly short fuse that burns quickly - a quickly angered man that unleashes his wrath in a silent yet terrifying clash.
In addition, he is increasingly arrogant, almost holier-than-thou. It is not so much that he broadcasts himself to be better - he more or less just knows it. There are few that he truly respects as superiors. However, those who he feels are not, regardless of title, will still receive the same polite yet unsettling greeting he says to all who disturb him.
However, his hate of ninjas has not done all bad. Daiki has become one of the most focused men in all of history. Once he has decided what needs to be done, what his craft will be, he will focus his entire being upon it. Hours at a time will fade away to the the silence of his training.
In closing, Daiki warrants respect, and if he does not receive it, he will take it.

Daiki is, in essence, looks like the type of man that nobody wants to look in the eyes out of fear of retribution. Wild black hair often tied back in nothing mre than a simple pony tail, his menacing black eyes, scruffy face, and numerous scars help make a terrifying appearance. His upper body is truly huge, bordering on monstrous. With an incredibly large chest and strong arms, he both looks and is rediculously strong - his main goal is mass, not tone. In addition, he has very broad, strong shoulders that make this rather short man seems much bigger. The various scars covering his upper body, particularly the obviously large stab wound on his upper right chest, only add to this monstrous persona. He often displays his badges of courage openly, preferring to be bare-chested, though he does wear his current Kenjutsu sash - black with a gold stripe - on occassion.
Knowing that he does indeed look scary, he tries to add to it with his rather rag-tag style of dress. Reminiscent of samurai, Daiki wears large, loose pants embellished with golden dragons. He also has adorned a sort of sash, tattered from use and abuse. Almost strictly for decoration, he wears a red samurai knot around his waist, homage to those who first made swordplay an art. Underneath is a simple wrapping that covers his abdomen. He wears simple shinguards and opened-toed sandals regardless of the weather.
While his right arm remains almost bare aside from a simple cloth tube, his left is covered with the workings of samurai armor, further homage. However, it, like the knot, is more for decoration than protection. The plates are mostly blues and, though not simple, are not overly ornate, and underneath these plates is a simple blue arm tube. On his left shoulder is a large, dominating shoulder pad with a golden dragon. Further adding to the decoration is a large leather belt attached to a chipped (like everything else) sort of cross that helps keep his shoulder pad in place.

Daiki was born an outcast within his family, though he would not know it for several years. At first his parents, both powerful and respected ninja within the Mist Village, were overjoyed to have their first son, and loved him dearly. Soon a younger brother came along, and they were growing into a happy family when the third child, yet another son to the glee of the parents, arrived. This trend continued through their last two children, both boys, and the family truly was happy, and aspired to become a sort of "ninja clan" within the Hidden Mist Village.[/size][/blockquote]
However, with the last arrival came Daiki's outcast. His parents had been, since he was but a youngling, training him in the basics of the ninja way, basics that did not require chakra. However, when the time came for him to enroll, he soon discovered that he could not fulfill his parents' wish. When applying for the academy, he and his family learned that he was unable to mold his chakra - a disability that, though the Academy believed could be overcome, his parents did not. Daiki was soon cast aside, ignored by his mother and father - he was of no use to them now that he could never become a ninja - and soon by his younger brothers followed suit. Yes, he ate with them, and slept in the same roof as them, but he was not permitted to live with them. And so Daiki enveloped his young, fragile mind with himself, in an attempt to protect it, and began developing the reserved and uncaring personality he now has today. Even while his younger brothers all perished during the Mist Genin exams one by one, he cared not. Meanwhile, only one brother attempted to connect with him - the youngest, Akihiro. Though Akihiro was by no means kind and outreaching, he at least acknowledged his existence, and, though he never really acknowledged his junior back, Daiki held back his feelings of hate for just him.
When Akihiro, the last of the younger brothers, the only who Daiki cared whether or not he perished, survived the Genin exams, he decided to leave his family behind. With what little money he had, he purchased the only katana he could afford, deciding that the sword would be his craft - his family could have their cursed ninjutsu. He left the city and never returned, putting the memories of the place so out of his mind that he would be unable to find the Village again on his own.
He set out, roaming the land, not doing odd jobs so much as just living life outdoors. He went through many hard winters, training his body and his mind for whatever he would need to do to accomplish his goal of becoming a blade master. For years he lived alone in the water country, doing nothing but training, day after day, hour after hour, going though harsh winter after harsh winter.
Finally, he decided that he was ready - at least, ready enough. He travlled around the islands, searching for a teacher to educate him the ways of the sword. Finally, after some weeks, he found the dojo Rufuki Haruma on O'uzu Island. He asked to be trained in the ways of the blade, and, seeing the harshness and discipline that years alone had instilled in him, Rufuki accepted his offer. Seeing the general ferocity that his true nature witheld, the Senpai began teaching Daiki in the art of Battojutsu, and has been telling the student of more advanced sword arts that can be found in the various locations around the world. And so Daiki has begun his quest to master the blade and prove to both his family and himself that one does not need ninjutsu to be a true warrior.
