Kael entered the city, his feet tired from traveling to the Capital on foot but other then that he was eager to help and make a difference. As soon as he entered the city proper he could see the aftermath of the attack that had occured here. Burn and blast marks scored dozens of places among various buildings, the ground and even on some of the people he could see moving about. He was only within the gates for a moment before a guard rushed up to confront.
"Who are you? State your name and business here now." The man was on edge and certainly understandable as to why.
"Easy friend," Kael responded with a smooth voice. He reacvhed into a pouch and revealed his headband from the Village of Stone, hopefully and symbol of friendship. "I'm only here to help with the injured. It seems you could use it." The guard stared at the headband for a moment before nodding and turned to start walking away, he indicated that Kael should follow.
Minutes later Kael was brought to an obvious field hospital, a clear sign that their regular hospital was simply maxed out at the moment. Dozens of people sat around, their moans of pain and looks of despair obvious. Kael gave a nod of thanks and began moving forward. Since there seemed to be no real triage done here he would simply start at one patient and move onto the next, helping as many as he could while he was here.
"Hello," he said as he walked up to the first patient. He kneeled down to be at the level of a young woman. Her face was streaked with tears and her shoulder hung awakwardly out of socket in a painful dislocated position. "My name is Kael, may I try and treat that for you?" he indicated the shoulder. She seemed tenative at first by slowly her head nodded up and down.
"Thanks, so what's your name?" "Rei." the woman replied.
As she spoke Kael folded his hands together through the various handsigns needed for his first jutsu. While it appeared to be a simple dislocation he needed to make sure there was no internal injuries in the should before resetting it. Crafting the lens he used his chakra and stared at the inner workings of her shoulder. He could see the bone clearly out of socket and the various damaged areas done from that but no other real sign of injury was present.
"Ok Rei," he started, "where's your favorite place to go when your in the city?" It was a simple tactic used for distracting patients. He didn't want her tense up and cause complications as he reset the joint in place. As she began to tell him about a waterfall set in a cliff nearby he shifted to kneel next to her and placed one hand on top of her shoulder, the other just below. A few encouraging words and questions helped keep her distracted when he suddenly shifted the joint and it painfully slid back into the place. Rei gave a slight cry of pain but seemed to show an inner strength as she didn't even let tears form.
"Great job Rei," he told her, "I'm going to make sling for you and I don't want you to use this arm for a day or two. When things get a little less hectic head over to the hospital have them take a look at it but I'm sure you'll be fine."
Using another simple jutsu he formed a long strip of bandage from the ground. Winding it around her arm and tying the know behind her head he checked to make sure it wasn't uncomfortable before telling her good bye and moving on to the next patient.
