To the Sea.

Ikki Sanada stalked quickly over a white boundless landscape. He looked around him and could not see anything save for dunes of sand and the occasional spars bush for miles and miles around. Ikki stopped to catch his breath and looked down, he was standing upon the hard caked dirt of the Sand Village Road.
It was a wide road that led from the Sand Village to the Sea. About a mile away from the actual Sand village there was a large crossroad with a signpost. Ikki had turned South when he reached the crossroads, it would take him winding through the desert and to the Sea. The road led to a small port town where Ikki could rent a boat or at least board a ferry that would take him to the Sea Country.
Ikki had caught his breath now, he wiped his arm across his brow and then started to run again. Ikki would have to keep up this pace for another hour or so before he reached the coast and boarded a boat. As he ran Ikki let his mind wander. First he thought about the rest of the trip, it would be a long way until he finally reached the Sea Country.
As Ikki ran he shifted the backpack on his back and kept on running. He had seen maps of the World before and he knew that to get to the Sea Country from the Wind Country a boat would have to go around the Tea Country and then to the Sea Country. The trip would be long, but if Ikki kept to himself he would be there in no time.
As thought so more Ikki started to wonder what kinds of people he would meet at the Exams, and he also wondered where Akemi was. He hoped she would get to the Exams in one piece. Ikki wondered because she was an emotional girl and she could get in trouble if she wasn't careful.
Ikki ran and ran for another couple of hours before he finally reached the Port Town. Ikki was happy to see other Suna Ninja waiting to board the Exams. Ikki made some small talk with them but found out they already had teams. Again, Ikki wondered where Akemi was. But he boarded the boat all the same.
The trip was rather long, Ikki slept overnight on the deck of the boat as it rocked slowly back and forth, steaming onward toward the Sea Country. When he awoke late the next morning Ikki could just barely see the destination on the horizon. The boat let out a great horn as it moved closer and closer to the shore. Another hour or so and Ikki was off the boat.
He was here. At the Exams. Ikki was ecstatic. He could not wait for Akemi to get here and to finally become a Chuunin.
