Turning down the road, Kuro began his walk to the gate. Winding through the streets he thought to himself “Great, so now I get to be bored sitting at the gate.” As he traveled down the street, Kuro came to see the small building next to the gate, and already he could see the ANBU there were dealing with matters accordingly.
Upon reaching the build, he was greeted by an ANBU who spoke: “I know you; you’re that kid that always wanders around outside the gates! They sent you to help us I assume?” Nodding, Kuro handed over the paper. “Alright, head into the building and we will get started.”
Entering the building Kuro saw little that impressed him. Another ANBU was witting at the desk just inside, his feet resting upon it as he tilt back in his chair. “Greeeat, fresh meat eh?” Nodding, Kuro approached. Alright boy, you get to stand next to the gate so get comfy, and report anything to me directly!” Turning away, Kuro walked out fo the building.
Reaching the edge of the gate, he settled himself against it, staring out into the grasslands. Already he could see clouds brewing on the horizon, most likely another storm passing through. Approaching from miles away was a caravan, with several horses at the head. Turning around, he shouted for a ANBU to come and take a look. The ANBU, appearing suddenly next to Kuro snorted. “Merchants boyo just ask for their papers and let em in!?”
After the man left Kuro turned back around. The cart was moving agonizingly slow. Hours passed as he watched it slowly growing, finally reaching the gate. Papers already in hand Kuro began to take them as the ANBU reappeared. “Check for the seal, see it there? Near the bottom ya. You’re clear after we check your caravan maam.” The woman stepped aside as the ANBU dug through the goods. “Those are some delisios looking veggies” he said through his mask. The woman smiled, taking out a beat and tossing it to the ANBU “For you sir” she said as she remounted the wagon and walked through.
“Be nice to the people and they are in turn nice to you” he said just before he disappeared. Scanning the horizon Kuro looked for more visitors, seeing none he resumed he lean on the wall.
A few more hours passed, none to exciting due to the lack of traffic, when suddenly on the horizon he saw a fast moving blur approaching with amazing speed. In less than fifteen minutes the man reached the gate, something which took the farmer hours. Coming to a sudden stop the man produced some papers. “Mail delivery” he explained. Checking over the notes and seal, Kuro nodded the man through. With amazing speed, the man was gone in the blink of an eye, flying towards the post office, little more than a blur.
Several more hours passed and it was starting to get dark. Walking out of the building the ANBU approached. “Anything suspicious?” he asked.
Shaking his head Kuro spoke up “just a mail-nin.”
“I see” said the ANBU through his mask. “You can report in, the day shift is complete, nice job.”
