Traveling to your destiny (Travel/Private)

Kakan stood outside the gates with his hood pulled over his head. His friend Issac would be showing up soon. They both had a plan in mind to go to the Chuunin Exams together and Kakan would prefer to travel with him than alone, in case another village had decided to lay an ambush on the way.

(Sorry its short, I just wanted to get the thread started.)

Issac arrived a little behind schedule. Now weighted down slightly by a large gourd, it wasn't filled with anything just yet Issac thought it would be better if he waited until they were done traveling to add all the water weight. Issac could see a hooded figure waiting just outside the gates. "Kakan" Issac came to a halt still adjusting his gourd, he would have to get used to carrying this thing around. For how the vines from his shoulders shot around the sides of his cloak and tied themselves together securing the gourd against his back.

"Sorrry for the delay, took a little longer then I thought to get back from my mission. Shall we be on our way?"

Kakan saw Issac approach through the gate, a new weapon on his back rather than his scythe. "I see you recycled your scythe. You going to be able to carry that gourd all the way there?" Kakan asked, walking along beside Issac as they headed towards the Land of Sea.

"So, I've got a course figured out from a few maps I could get a hold of in the village. We'll need to go to Rain, River and sail to the Land of Sea. Sound like a good idea?" Kakan asked, keeping his hood around his head. He knew that they had no allies among any of the nations they'd be going through, but there was a good chance that they'd slip through unnoticed. Most nations were sending shinobi there anyways, they might have loose border patrol.

Issac had thought pretty much the same thing as far as their travel, it seemed like the easiest way to go. "It's empty for now, just thought I'd get it while we were hear. Empty like this it doesn't weight much more then my scythe did, I'll be getting it back eventually but for now this will be my weapon of choice." Issac adjusted the gourd again then went through a mental checklist making sure he had everything he nodded once. "Yeah that's about the same path I thought we should take." Issac pulled his cloak over his head as he looked over his shoulder. "Ok we've spent enough time here. Let's get moving we have little time left to get there"

Kakan nodded his agreement, turning his attention to the path ahead. With Issac beside him, Kakan set out for Rain, having previously visited there on a mission a week or so ago.

The terrain, as they walked, seemed to take on quite a new form. It wasn't just grass and plains, but several rivers that they would pass would seem to swell the closer they got to Rain.

As they set off in silence Issac started to formulate different tactics they would be able to employ once they arrived at the exams. He wasn't sure what they would be in for but it was always best to have at least some plan of attack. Issac turned his head towards Kakan as that walked, "This seems like a bad time to ask but, what jutsu are you proficient in other then using the Zassou vines? Trying to come up with some strategy and it would help to know what you're capable of."

Issac and Kakan made their way through Rain country. Although they were so alike in blood the way they had trained outside of that had differed somewhat. Issac focused on his physical performance and his suiton release while Kakan spread his training out a little more. He was versed in things Issac wasn't which was good it gave them a little more diversity. Issac began to wonder what they would be up against when they got to the chuunin exams. There were supposed to be shinobi from every land attending the exams. It was hard for Issac to focus on where he was going, twice Kakan had to pick the paths they were to take. If it was up to Issac they would be as lost as his thoughts were. As they traveled through the country the rain began coming down in large drops. Issacs gourd began to take on water he could feel the water swishing around with each step he took. It didn't bother him until the water began to take weight. Shifting his vines he tipped the gourd upside down spilling the water from it. He kept it at this angle so the water just slide off of it. He would make sure it was filled by the time they got to the exams though, this would be his first line of defense. He was hoping he would be able to depend on it as much as he thought he could.

It was about halfway through the country when the rain started to lighten up just a little. The skies were dark and there was no one that could be seen on the road they traveled. Issac dropped his hood letting the rain wash over his face. They were close to the boarder leading to river now. After they finished discussing their jutsu and trainings they had remained relatively quiet except for when Kakan was adjusting Issacs path. It stayed this way now, Issac wasn't to used to traveling with a companion. He wasn't really good at small talk and he hoped Kakan didn't become offended by his silence. As they crossed the boarder the rain seemed as if it stopped instantly. The clouds began to lighten, Issac drew his hood back over his head they now had to traverse the River country and then just a boat ride to sea.

River yielded pretty much the same thing that rain did. The weather was damp and heavy and there didn't seem to be anyone the entire time they were on the road. Issac just figured all the traffic was in the same direction so they wouldn't see anyone until they made it to the docks where they could take their ship to Sea. While they were walking Issac fixed the gourd the way he found it most comfortable, it was at an angle from his right shoulder going down across his back. He used a piece of cloth as a strap wrapping it around his body then cutting two small holes in his cloak so that the strap wouldn't get in the way. He also affixed several more exploding tags withing his vines so he now had a total of thirty, ten in each arm and five in each shoulder. It was always about surprise. He also had a few other things he would arrange but now was not the time he would wait till they made it to the exams for that.

As the approached the docks there were several others that could easily be identified as shinobi. Wearing their headbands with pride. They all took different ships some small some large, everyone knew they were bound to the same place but no one would question why none of them would be going together. Issac made sure to keep his head down and try not to attract any attention. The gourd on his back would be an obvious give away he knew that but he hoped no one knew what village they hailed from. Not yet anyway, the time would come for that. Just not right now. The boat trip would take the remainder of the night, they would arrive at the Land of sea bright and early in the morning. Issc would sleep with one eye open, not sure if Kakan was asleep or not he wanted to stat alert the entire time.

Just before arriving at the land of sea Issac had lowered his gourd over the edge of the boat using his vines to submerge it in water filling it to the brim. It would be a lot more weight then Issac was accustom to hauling around but he would get used to it in no time. They were here, it was time for the Zassou to make their mark.
