Examination Number One

The first exam is a test of your mind, your intuition and your ability to think when all else fails. Strategical minds are minds that triumph, those that hesitate before the dilemmas of morality are left behind. Question everything, for there is no correct answer in what lies ahead...

Guidelines:

• There will be no posting in this thread, it is here only to supply you with the questions.
  
• All answers will be submitted in the form of a PM, sent to your designated examiner for grading.
  
• Answers should be written IC, this is preferred. We will also allow in-depth descriptions of your plan of action that properly detail what your character would do and why.
  
• We ask only for your answers, no extenuating RP is necessary.
  
• You are given 48 hours to compose your answers, no exceptions.
  
• There is a three day recess before the second exam, however no one is to leave the capital until the 48 hours have passed.
  
• Results will be posted the day before exam number two begins. Those who have failed will be escorted from the city.
  
• Feel free to PM your examiner with any questions you might have. (Usernames: chuuninexaminer, chuuninexaminer2, etc.)

Questions:

a.) You and your two teammates have been assigned a mission to warn a neighboring country about an impending attack from a mutual enemy of both villages. You have been given a scroll detailing the counter-attack plans, and have been tasked not to read it. The scroll is in your possession. Two days away from your home village you are attacked by shinobi, vastly superior to yourself, allied with said enemy. These shinobi capture one of your teammates. They take your teammate to their hideout, to interrogate and torture them, and most likely kill them when they have finished with them. The enemy hideout is one day away from you. The village you are to warn lies one day in the other direction. The enemy attack takes place in two days. Detail the best course of action and explain why it is the best available to you.

b.) Your Jounin Sensei has lost their mind, and has taken one of your two teammates as a hostage. You and your remaining teammate track down your sensei, but arrive long before any reinforcements will. You arrive to find your teammate bound and immobilized, with your sensei holding a kunai to their neck and threatening to kill them unless you murdered your remaining teammate. Detail the best course of action and explain why it is the best available to you.

c.) You and your team of four others has been dispatched on a mission to find and capture a ninja, of superior skill level, whose abilities are known to you. Said ninja is accompanied by four other ninja of skill levels slightly superior to you and your team-members. All of them are prepared to use deadly force, as you are authorized to do so as well. The mission has no restrictions placed on it. You are to take down the foe and his comrades by any means needed. Each team contains two Genjutsu Specialists, Two Ninjutsu Specialists, as well as yourself on your team and a Taijutsu Master on the other team. The one you seek to capture is the Taijutsu Master. The others must be killed. Devise the quickest, most effective strategy towards killing and capturing your targets with the least number of fatalities.

As of 8:00 AM EST this morning, round one has ended. All PMs received after this time will not be graded. You will be given a 72 hour recess before round two begins (February 26th 8:00 AM EST) . Results from the written portion of the exam will be posted 24 hours before round two commences. Those that have failed are asked to vacate the capital, however you may stay as spectators if you so choose. Those that are moving on, please be within the capital when round two begins.
