Walking into the animal shelter, Jason realized that the mission page wasnt kidding. They were severly under-staffed. Walking in, there were only 2 other people there, and cages EVERYWHERE, filled with dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and so on. Jason walked up to the desk and said "Im here to help out. Where do you need me?" The clerk looked up, looking like she hadnt had any sleep in weeks. "Oh thank heavens. These animals have been driving me insane. All of them want food at the same time, they all need to be cleaned and groomed, and then they just need to play a bit. Can you handle that? I need to sleep for a bit. If you need anything... well... DONT need anything.... She said, rushing out the door before Jason could say anything back.
With a soft sigh, Jason figured the fishtanks on the wall would be the easiest to take care of as they didnt get cleaned, and they couldnt really play with others, so Jason walked over there, found the food, and fed each of the fish the appropriate amount of food. He also dropped in a simple, fishtank cleaning agent that wouldnt harm the fish, just to make things a little cleaner for the fish.
Next up were the reptiles. All sorts of lizards and snakes and whatnot lay in their cages awaiting for some attention. Jason even had to walk up and pull one snake off of another because it was so hungry. Giving each the appropriate food, he started to clean out the cages, trying to give them a bit more of an appropriate living enviornment. It was saddening to see how these animals were living, but Jason would soon have this place looking a whole lot better.
Next were the cats. Jason quickly fed all of them and waited until they were all done before taking them out and cleaning them all. Sure they were a bit of a hassle, but Jason had dealt with worse. Once they were all cleaned and dried off, Jason put them into a cat play-pen with some toys and allowed them to play with each other while giving them some love as well.
Once all the cats were back in their cages, Jason let the dogs eat and started to clean them as well. Since the dogs were bigger then the cats, it took a bit more time then Jason would have wanted. As it was now, 6 hours had passed by and still no one was there to help out. But Jason kept on moving, now putting the dogs into a play-pen along with some toys, giving each one some tender loving care that they needed.
Once the dogs were all put back up where they needed to go, Jason looked around, trying to find some new things to do. 2 things caught his eyes. One was to take care of some paperwork, the other was to clean the actual shelter. So Jason would start with the cleaning. He went around with a duster and started to dust off some of the surfaces, while also taking a wet rag and wiping up some messes that were made by the animals. It must be a tough job for those who take care of this shelter regularly, and what with the people who are ill, it makes it even more difficult.
Once the cleaning was done, and the shelter looked more presentable, Jason would take care of some old adoption papers that were there, calling up some places who were scheduled for a check-up, and taking care of whatever calls happened to come in. Remembering what it looked like when he first came in, Jason realized that this was a massive turn around and was proud of the work that he had done. But before he could do anything else, the clerk walked back in, amazed at the difference. Jason was also surprised at how much better she looked.
"Wow! This place looks amazing! Thank you sir for all of your help. Hopefully we have people start to come back from their sickness. Consider this mission a success!" She said. Jason smiled and said back "Glad to have been of some assistance. Just dont let it get that way again." He then walked out the door, ready to get his pay.
