Claire nodded her understanding. Her mentor was assaulting the man's mind with fear, rather than continue futilely wearing down the body. Genjutsu. Scary stuff. Her role in the exercise had not yet come, and so she contented herself with watching, but it was so weird watching the prisoner squirm with agony when he had no visible molesters that she began to fidget herself. She was very uncomfortable with this mission, firewall or no. With any luck her Captain's victim would spill his secrets soon so they could get away from the stink of blood and waste and desperation.

With no means of breaking the genjutsu Rintatsu was subject to the full horrors of his fears. In his mind, beasts still lashed at him, stripping his flesh. He would hear Gosei's words, only barely, through this torment. "You think I actually believe that?" he'd scream through the lashings his mind was inflicting upon him. "There's absolutely no reason for you to stop just because I ahhhhhh!" his words were halted as the beasts consuming him took a hefty chunk from his torso. Before continuing he'd trash about a bit, though his body was continuing to get weaker and his flailing became lessened. Despite the pain he was in his body was slipping from beneath him. He was weak from the weeks of torture, empowered only by the fact he had the information his captors were seeking. He wasn't going to give it up.

bviously Rintatsu was right. Gosei had no reason to stop if he was told what he wanted to know. Rather, it would merely take away his incentive to do more. ”And? I am having a blast here. Maybe I’ll start taking off bits from you next. Which fingers do you value most? I’ll end then with those. Perhaps once I am done with you I will make you my slave. And you will love me for it.”
Claire stood passive at his side, probably overtaken by what was occurring. The good cop – bad cop act would fall apart if Gosei had to fulfill both roles. Now Rintatsu was engorged in his own pain and the illusion that still clawed at him, Gosei secretly nudged the young lady, urging her to speak a different message than his. Perhaps if she gave Rintatsu a hope for release from the pain he would spill the beans.
“By God, sir, I’ve lost my leg.”, “By God, sir, so you have.” ~The Earl of Uxbridge, noticing he lost something, to the Duke of Wellington at the battle of Waterloo.
It was her time to act, based on the unsubtle push Claire received from her captain. It was boggling. She wasn't supposed to speak against him in front of the prisoner, so she had expected him to leave her to her end, but apparently not. A compromise needed to be struck. And she had an idea how to go about it. Maybe. She reached out, placed a gentle hand on the convict's bloody cheek.
"You're both right. He has no reason to stop. Not if you tell him anything, not if you refuse. He enjoys his work. He's an animal just like you. The difference is in the wild, the weak - that's you - are eaten by the strong - that's him. But he likes to play with his food too much. It's inhumane. So tell me. Tell me what he wants to know and I can promise you he will stop. I can't promise you'll survive to a venerable age, but I can promise a fair Court Martial. If found guilty, which we all three know you will, your execution will be swift, and you will not suffer. I give you my word as the last of my kind. My word as a Sakurai."

If Gosei would not allow the awakened fears to drop Rintatsu would continue to thrash about not really paying attention to the words that would be spoken by anyone. The only thing he would do would be to pause a few times during this thrashing to smile and laugh creepily, his sanity was leaving. If Gosei was 'kind' enough to stop his technique at the request of Claire he would begin to pant heavily as he'd of course try to gain his bearings. Her attempt to gain any form of rapport with him would be ill met on his behalf. During his thrashing Rintatsu would have bitten his cheeks up something fierce and he was going to make use of it.
His eyes would meet Claire's and in an instant he would spit in her face, blood splashing in the eyes of the woman with his effort. Regardless if his actions warranted consequences or even if they were successful he would begin to laugh manically, hanging limp in his chains again. "A fair trial? Don't make me laugh!" he'd exclaim as he'd continue to laugh. "I'll never make it to the court house! Correct me if I'm wrong but this torture isn't exactly legal is it? Something about human rights?! The higher ups will never allow it to happen, that BITCH Amarante will have me rot in here for the rest of my MISERABLE life! A fair TRIAL, HAH! Not that it matters at all, the Uchiha siblings will end her life before to long. I'll die happy knowing that her life's been ended."
he only reward for offering consolation would be being spat in the face for Claire. What she offered however was not what the Godaime would have offered. He would have proposed a personal deal. Nevertheless, Rintatsu's behaviour required a measured answer."Hey! I said be nice and mind your manners!" Gosei would exclaim, grabbing the ring and middle fingers of Rintatsu's hand, bending them backwards further than any finger should be bent. The result would be the same sickening noise from before as the bones of the fingers detached from the bones of the hand. This action would of course break the illusion. "I like that information about those Uchiha brothers. I want more."
It was time for heavier measures. Forming handseals Gosei would once again procure a large amount of chakra, projecting it to Rintatsu. If successful, the man would immediately fall unconscious, allowing the Medic to check out Claire's status. "You okay?" he asked, raising the corner of his haori, clearly offering it to the girl as a means of cleaning up her face. "He will be like this for quite a while. Let's rest for fifteen minutes, how are you holding up?"
Had the attempt to cast an illusion on Rintatsu succeeded the man would find himself spread out, tied to a wheel. The sky overhead would be red, the landscape around them flat and bare, reaching into eternity. The land of dreams Gosei forged would be alien and foreboding, the Genmaster saw no reason in making this look realistic, all that mattered was the illusion. Trees, all far apart dotted the landscape, many bodies impaled on their sharp branches, each of them looking like Rintatsu. "Welcome to my realm of pain. This is your first chance. Promise me your total loyalty and devotion and perhaps I will consider letting you live." Gosei ordered, cupping his hand around Rintatsu's chin. If Rintatsu agreed Gosei would offer his hand, if Rintatsu disagreed Gosei would huff and mumble something along the lines of 'suit yourself' before shimmering away into the air. In his place Jinmaru would appear, starting to gnaw on Rintatsu's fingers and toes until they would be bitten off. Once that was done the illusion would move on to eating from the torso. Being eaten alive, one of the worst tortures Gosei could think of. Well, not actually, this would just be the start. Besides, the longer this would last, the larger the chance of this man's mind being broken.
Torment [100] Rank: "S" Skill: GenJutsu Effect: When performed, the victim falls unconscious. They remain trapped in a dreamscape, where they are chased by monsters, captured and tortured by their best friends, thrown off cliffs by those they love, etc. Special: "Handseals" Drawback: --- Description: A Mind-Affecting Technique. Affects 1 creature. The user is able to perform this technique at a distance of 30 meters plus 15 meters per class level. The duration of this technique lasts for 5 hours per class level. This technique may be negated. Everything looks and feels real – the victim feels every minute of pain, fear and physical agony. Most realize they are asleep and in a GenJutsu – but this does not end the Jutsu or make it any less painful. It often increases their despair as they realize how helpless they are. The victim is visited by the user throughout the vision, and offered escape and healing if they will but take their hand and promise loyalty. The victim faces a choice. If they resist the vision continues. The Jutsu is so horrible there is a cumulative 5% chance per hour that he will go permanently mad (feebleminded). The victim is aware of this. An illusion of the user always visits before a save is rolled to resist being feebleminded and to end the Jutsu. If the victim takes the user's hand and promises loyalty, they wake up. The victims is well, unharmed, and behaves normally – except that they are absolutely convinced that serving the user is the right thing to do, and does so loyally and without question. If the victim attempts to lie, the vision becomes worse (limbs being slowly sawed off, body engulfed in flames and continues to burn for hours, etc.) while the chance to become feebleminded rises to 10% per hour (cumulative). Note that shaking, water, etc. does not awaken the victim; that requires a successful Dispel GenJutsu. If the victim is feebleminded, they can be restored with a heal Jutsus. If she gave into the Jutsu, Dispel GenJutsu can restore her (note that the victim will usually fight to prevent this, as they now feel that serving their new master is the right thing to do). Limit: Must know the Phantasm Perception.

The Sakurai wiped away the bloody spittle with one hand, and brushed it off on her pants leg. This was concerning. And a small swell of anger was growing in her. "I'm fine. But this...Captain, just what exactly did he mean when he said that he would be denied Court Martial? We aren't breaking the law here, are we? We're supposed to enforce it! Just what manner of hypocrites would we be to ignore the laws we claim to uphold whenever it suits us!? You need to explain what's going on, Gosei Kazeraikou, and it needs to be good."

As the bone in his finger would crack Rintatsu would let out a very loud scream, almost bouncing two feet into the air as his body would jerk from the pain. Back in his heap upon being asked to explain more about the Uchiha 'brothers' he would crack a smile and snort out a cackle. "Hn, he thinks they're brothers..." he would speak no further words until he was then placed back into another of Gosei's genjutsu, with no means of fending it off it was inevitable. At first he'd almost be glad to be seeing the outdoors though the spiked bodies scattered about the place gave him ominous chills. He almost crapped himself when he seen Gosei was hear in this land as well, well he would have if he had anything in his gut to crap out. They weren't feeding him well at the moment. His body would stiffen in place and his feeble hands would shake.
When asked of what he knew and to give information he would meekly state that he knew nothing, his words shakey and full of fear. It was then that (the imaginary?) Gosei would shake his head and Jinmaru would appear in his vision. As the illusionary Jinmaru would approach Rintatsu would question him. He'd ask what he was doing here, how he was here, warned him of Gosei, and told him to run but it was to no avail. He wasn't able to process that it wasn't the actual Jinmaru and he was shocked to no ends when he began to eat him. "No, what are you doing?!" he'd shout at his companion before starting to scream at the top of his lungs. He'd scream and scream with no end in sight. If (the imaginary?) Gosei were to ask him for anymore information the most likely answer would be that Rintatsu didn't know anything. He'd scream and scream that he knew nothing, begging for the pain to end over and over, screaming until his throat became hoarse and bleed. The only answer Gosei would get would be that the siblings were brother and sister.
Agony fell his world now. There was no relief as his new god, Gosei, did not yet permit it to him.
(OOC: In your next post define how long you've kept him under the genjutsu and I'll role the dice.)
Edit: You'd also notice that he was not entirely lying.

t was to be expected, in the face of such suffering Claire allowed herself to be swayed by the words of a prisoner. "I don't know what world he lives in, but in this one there are no laws on what to do with prisoners of war. Also, I have no idea what those human rights he speaks of are. Any rights we extend to him are not privileges but gifts. He is basically at the mercy of the Hokage, who gave us authorization to extract a confession." Walking to the man he grabbed the hair and raised the head of this man for Claire to look at. "Do not be fooled. This man has taken the lives of some of our shinobi and was ready to take more until I stopped him. Any rights he claims to have, his actions erased every single one of them. He is a cold blooded murderer. If he wasn't like this he would kill you without blinking his eyes. Perhaps do even worse things to you." Letting go the man would return, still unconscious, to a limp state. What worse things Gosei exactly meant would not be specified, although what he was doing now might already apply to his statement.
Tapping his index fingers a few times together as he thought about the possibilies and this mans reaction. "Also, he might not believe in the fairness of our justice system. He will prefer hard promises more probably. Next time, if my Genjutsu fails, or when we talk to Jinmaru, try to offer something concrete. Be nice to them to gain their trust, tell them that you, not me, but you can make it stop for them as soon as you have what you need to satisfy the Hokage. Start with a life long scentence. Then, try to sweeten the deal. Try to read what he wants. Solitary confinement? Live among other inmates? Protection from those he betrayed by talking to us? Make personal promises. Something we can provide and something he wants." Sighing Gosei would concentrate a bit and stood still, gazing in the distance as if he was seeing something else, leaving the girl to think about what he had said.
In the Dreamworld Beside Rintatsu the imaginary Gosei would appear again. He simply stepped forth out of thin air. All of this was in Rintatsu’s head and thus unreal. To the target of the Genjutsu however everything felt as if it was real. And of course some of the effects were real. Should the man pledge himself to the Kazeikou he would wake up again, voluntarily having made himself enslaved and loyal to the Genmaster. Of course the longer this man waited with making his pledge, the larger the chance of him ending up with his mind broken, making the act of defiance one of futility. By now RIntatsu would have realized this. With one hand the Godaime grabbed the hair of the illusory Jinmaru, pulling him back from the torso on which he had been gnawing. Holding his other hand close to Rintatsu’s hand Gosei would ask a second time. ”Second chance: Promise me your total loyalty and devotion and this will stop.” If the answer was affirmative the genjutsu would end and RIntatsu would be enslaved.
If denied once again Gosei would sigh. ”Fine, suit yourself. Enjoy another few hours.” He spoke, disappearing into nothingness with the imaginary Jinmaru. The moment Rintatsu blinked the world would be upside down. He would find himself with his hands shackled on his back, hanging from his feet from a tree with rope that dig into his ankles. Two devils would also have appeared, carrying a huge two man operated saw. Starting between the legs they would start to saw slowly through the man until they reached his neck, inflicting terrible pains. At this point the two would remove their saw and Rintatsu would find himself whole again as the two devils would start again. It was clear what would happen until Gosei decided to return to the dreamscape.
You don’t have to roll a dice until the jutsu ends. I am having Gosei make a ‘visit’ every hour. So this was the first hour. So now there is a 5% chance at the end of the jutsu. I get 5 hours duration per class level so this jutsu could go on in my case for 25 hours. Basically I am going to RP out this Genjutsu until Rintatsu submits or I achieve 100% chance of madness XD In the mean time while this Genjutsu runs its course we could potentially go interrogate the other guy, what Sets prefers.
Also Jimbo, I made Gosei make his comments in the assumption that human rights bill and the Geneva conventions don't exist in NFRP.

"I do understand what you mean. Just because I'm from a little village doesn't make me stupid or naïve. But to behave just like that slime...doesn't it make us no better than slime ourselves? Are there really no limits on the legal treatment of captured enemies? If that's the case, then maybe there should be. On the battlefield I can understand any measures, but here we have absolute control.
"Your advice is good though. What they think, how they feel. I can use it, and turn them against themselves. I don't like this, but I like these animals even less. I'll beat the truth out of them myself if I have to, but a different answer would be better. At least one person goes home happy here.

(OOC: I would like to think that by the honor system it was acceptable to state that there is a version of these things in the NFRP universe though whether or not we actually adhere to them is another issue all together.)
The grabbing of his hair would not be felt by the semi-unconscious Rintatsu though if he had the choice he'd probably prefer it. When asked if he had wanted to confess and give loyalty to Gosei however this would be the dull and drifting response from the tortured. "I have already pledged my loyalty and devotion to another. Another I fear more than you Leaf Village Guardian..." his vision would be blurry and voice hardly audible. "Your power... Indeed I was no match but I believe the man I had pledged myself to is stronger still... When I see you I see power and relentless authority... But when I see him... I don't even know what I see... Just fear..."
Soon his eyes would close from the jutsu and then open once again as he'd find himself hanging upside down by his ankles. As the demons would prepare to saw Rintatsu would know what was coming next and plea for them to have mercy. He would beg, plead, he'd almost get down on his knees and blow if he was able to but it was useless of course and he'd be screaming his lungs out as they'd cut him down, down, down the middle. It would take a long while of this sawing but it would pay off quite nicely as a fresh piece of information would be brought to light. Rintatsu would scream the following words but once throughout his torment. "Save me Lord Satoshi, save me!"
lthough Claire seemed to be toughening up under the strain of what was occurring, she still seemed to harbour childish ideas of justice and ethics. "It is not how we choose to behave in regard to him. It is how we have to. Where is the battlefield? Point me to it. I tell you, we are in the middle of it. He has already admitted to having little friends, who are apparently coming for our Hokage. How many will they slaughter on their way to the tower? His answers could help us stop that. He is the victim of his own machinations now."
Once again Gosei stood still for a moment. His victim was calling out in the dreamworld, but it was not to the Godaime.
In the Dreamworld Gosei appeared again beside the man. The demons were sawing, a sickening grinding sound of bone and a slushing sound of blood and flesh mixed with exasperated screams. "I don't know who your lord Satoshi is, but you will come to fear me more." The Genmaster remarked with a smug look upon his face. "One more time. Pledge me your life, your loyalty and devotion!" The Godaime said once again. If the man accepted it the Genjutsu would end. It would too if he denied, since Gosei felt that it was time to try and extract information again. He estimated that this had turned the man feebleminded to be about 15%. That would be good, with his mind broken it would be far easier to extract information.
In the real world A smile plastered around Gosei's eyes. Behind him Rintatsu would be waking up now. "Enjoyed your stay? If I am not satisfied this time, I am going to send you back and I shall keep you there until your mind is broken." On his left wrist the Medic carried an ornate bracelet. So far the gold and cobalt object had looked like a mere accessory, but from it he would pull a senbon needle, revealing the true use of the item. "Are you familiar with acupuncture? I use it to destroy diseases like you." with a single swift motion the needle would be inserted near the man's right clavicle. Pain experienced on the outside of the body could be usually ignored by those who were prepared, but the internal pain which was now spreading to the chest area, many were not used to that. The combination of fear and debilitating pain could just be the key here. "Start talking about everything you know, everything you know we are interested in."

The screams of the prisoner could not be heard outside the prison but once the doors were open they rang like sweet symphony. The Hyuuga girl popped in and sought out Gosei, handing him off a letter and awaiting orders. Most would have left by now, but the letter was urgent.
"Gosei, I have a matter within the tower I would like your hand in. My AnBu informs me she had witnessed our merchant within the tower, hiding her headband with flesh. Not minutes earlier one of my ninja filled me in on the Kedoin and their ability to manipulate biomaterial, such as flesh. Perhaps you could persuade my guest?
Your Kage."

he interruption was unexpected. A young white eyed woman popped into the tiny cell to hand a letter to the Godaime. Reading it with great interest Gosei would eventually start to think on its contents. This was strange. The way this was written. Definitely not Amarante. Pocketing the letter the Kazeraikou would decide to send a clone in his stead."Tell the lady that I'll join her as soon as possible." As Rintatsu would slowly stir to consciousness again he would simply sit and stare at his feet before himself. Listening to the words of Gosei he would vaguely understand that what had happened to him was simply genjutsu but he would have sever doubts about it. Was it fake? It was just so real to him. Jinmaru eating him however, he had no such thoughts about his team mate ever doing something to him so it had to be fake, didn't it? He wasn't sure. He was getting less sure of what was real anymore, he was breaking. Since before Gosei ever entered the room he was already breaking, and not in the good way. Soon he'd enter full blown madness. "You're messed up... More than the others... You're messed up..." would be the only words of response the pair would receive. After that he'd just be stuck in his mind, thinking just what even in his life was real and what was an illusion.
ather than addressing Claire's order Rintatsu started accuse the Godaime of cruelty. Mumbling the same things in sequence. Gosei had finally done it, the mind of the man was broken. "You brought this upon yourself. The offer remains. Think it over. When we get back we want your answer. And before you say 'no', remember the last few hours." Beckoning Claire to follow him the Kazeraikou would exit the cell and face the AnbU standing there at guard. "Jinmaru's cell." The Godaime ordered. It was time to start comparing stories.
That, and the fresh meat to break excited Gosei. As they walked he would turn to Claire, remembering her performance. "Very well done. You are learning quickly." Still, despite the progress of the girl, the Genmaster heavily doubted that she fully grasped the danger these two men and their still free associates posed. That, and that the hidden Leaf was to pull out all of the stops to prevent more death of innocent citizens at the hands of a few madmen with a hidden agenda.

(OOC: So I'm gonna be giving off more hints to speed up the mission progress. I'd like to finish this soon.)
As the Godaime would emerge from the cell the ANBU would begin to lead him to the other side of the compound. The stirring from the cells would be louder this walk through filled with cries of helplessness from the other prisoners. Among the things that could be heard would be the following statements: "They're gonna kill us!", "You wont take me alive!", "I'm not like them, don't hurt me!" On their journey they would also come across a few ANBU operatives dragging out body bags of a few other prisoners, presumably having killed themselves. While they were doing this the other cell occupant was sitting bound in cuffs while guarded by another operatives, crying. After they'd reach the new cell they'd again be handed a key and the ANBU would once more disappear into a cloud of smoke, off to help his comrades clean up.
The door for Jinmaru's cell is rather different than Rintatsu's cell. Rather than the iron bars the other cells contained Jinmaru's was actually a large oak doors that if observed properly would be found to be reinforced by eleven inches of heavy grade steel. They seemed to not be taking any chances with this one. The door itself was also sealed with a tag as well, it needed only be torn off however it provided additional security to the room, adding to the lock.
Upon entering they'd find a very different set up from Rintatsu's cell as well. The obvious similarity would be that the cell was covered in blood of course however the binding methods would be completely different. Whilst Rintatsu was bound in chains, Jinmaru was held against the wall by shackles that wouldn't let him budge even an inch, dry blood covering them showing that he would have been interrogated whilst restrained in them. Holding down his arms, legs and torso, there were even shackles around his neck, all bolted into the wall behind him. Binding him. That however was not the most surprising thing they'd find however, as they'd observe him at merely a glance the difference between the two would be very clear for the sound of mind.
Despite the truly obscene amount of blood, there would be no wounds upon Jinmaru's body, not to mention his overall state of health while deteriorated would be rather well. The only signs of illness even Gosei would be able to find would be that he was beginning to show signs of low tier malnourishment. Thinning a little, it was no where near the amount that Rintatsu was suffering. His mouth was covered by a large slink of golden tape preventing him from speaking. If removed he would spout the following words. "I can't tell you anything. You'd get more from Rintatsu." His gaze would be stern though withered. It would seem he had not been getting enough sleep though he would be sound of mind. He was much to dangerous even now for Claire to get to close.
If studied the blood of course would be found to belong to Jinmaru. If Jinmaru himself was studied you would find that he was sleep deprived and malnourished. This would indicate that while he would not be able to fight to his full potential he was still combat able so Claire would best stay somewhat back.
Hint: Gosei may want to sense the chakra of Jinmaru.

nother cell, another prisoner, once fallen at the hand of the Godaime himself. Clearly for certain reasons this person was far better restrained than Rintatsu had been. This person was different. The blood combined with the lack of wounds indicate that this man had some healing ability or that a medical nin had patched up the man between sessions. Since this had been done quite differently on Rintatsu the case was probably the former for Jinmaru. Gosei’s sensor senses were still activated and thus he immediately searched down the chakra of this man. When Claire entered the room her teamleader would extend his arm to signify that she was to remain behind him.
”Remember me Jinmaru? Rintatsu did not.” Gosei taunted, removing the tape from the man’s mouth. ”I think I pretty much drained your brother. I broke him. For the rest of his years he will be locked in a padded cell with a straightjacket and a gag to stop him from biting off his own tongue. Now, I am giving you the option. Talk, or I’ll think of a fate worse than death for you.”
