Saitosen awoke under the tree he sat under after eating his sandwich to take a nap underneath. It was shortly after 5 PM as he blinked his eyes and shook his head to wake himself up. Saitosen would take the initiative to rise up and finish off his training for the day with a simple Ninjutsu technique. After a day of Taijutsu, his body deserved a bit of a break, he thought to himself.
So he rummaged through his bag, looking for a simple Ninjutsu scroll to learn from. He would look for about 5 minutes before he found what he was looking for, a D rank jutsu, called Chiisaimizubakahatsu. It was a small technique, not too useful when it comes to dealing out pain to the opponent, but is damaging none the less. He took out the scroll, opened it, read the hand seals, memorized there order and walked over to the edge of the luscious lake.
Channeling chakra into his feet, Saitosen would take a few steps out onto the lake, striding confidently on top of the waters surface. On top of the water, he felt weightless, like he was floating, and Saitosen adored this feeling. He would start up on the hand seals, performing them quickly, but summoning up the desired amount of chakra efficiently as he did so. Once he finished the last seal, he would funnel the molded chakra down through his body and into the body of water. At once he saw a difference in the lake. He saw the nearly still, glistening, shiny lake start to rumble. He saw the once nearly still surface, start rocking back and forth, creating small waves at the edge of the pond. Then from the spot just next to where he was standing he saw the smallest wave he had ever seen in his life, hop up out of the surface of the lake and crash back down, barely making a splash.
He would narrow his eyes and sighed deeply as he shakes his head and rolls his eyes. He was definitely expecting something a lot more than that, even if it was his first try. He would then draw in a deep breath, and concentrate on gathering up a lot more chakra then his last effort. He performed the hand signs, and felt the chakra surge through his body, the familiar chill down his spine he felt as the energy dropped to his feet hit him, but an unfamiliar dizziness hit him as well. His chakra control would suddenly break, and he would feel himself submerge under the surface of the lake! He opened his eyes, and began an upward stroke until he broke the surface of the water. Gasping for breath, he pondered what exactly had gone wrong.
“Could I have summoned up too much chakra?” Saitosen would ask himself. He assumed that that was the problem, and decided that it was an easy fix. He would swim to the shore of the lake, and walked out of it, shaking the water out of his now drenched hair. He took off his wet t-shirt, and wringed his hair out. He took a short 5 minute break before cracking his knuckles and strutting back onto the lake’s surface. He would decide not to walk as far into the lake this time for fear of falling in again if he messes up. Then, he would start up his hand seals, summoning up the median of chakra between when he messed up and got dizzy.
He felt the chakra wave flow through his body and exit through his feet into the water. He felt the waters surface flutter and begin to move more than before. At this point, he opened his eyes and noticed that there was a much bigger wave in front of him then last time, and how it hopped out of the war about 3 feet in the air before it crashed back down about a meter away.
“One more try and I think I’ve got it” Saitosen would say to himself, fully believing that what he said was true. He decided to give it another shot. Taking another deep breath, he would perform his hand seals. Boar, Ox, Ram, Monkey . His chakra felt perfect, he would barely feel the familiar chill down his spine, signaling a good chakra concentration. He pushed the chakra out through his feet, and saw a wave immediately spring up from the lake, traveling well over a yard before finally crashing down onto the lake’s flowing body. Saitosen would smile and nod his head in approval.
