If the Claw Country head man didn't reside in the largest building right in the center of town, Toru vowed to purchase a hat just for the sake of eating it.
Luckily that wouldn't be necessary. According to the secretary at the front desk, the lord was in. Unfortunately he was also unreachable except by appointment. Frankly, Toru didn't buy that for a second. He informed the secretary that he was in possession of important documents bound for the Lord from the Mizukage and that he was most definitely not here by appointment.
Snippy little secretary wasn't having any of that. She slapped her pen down on the desk and looked up impatiently. "Sir, I. . ." Whatever she was about to say was lost forever. Apparently laying eyes on Toru for the first time, her jaw fell to the floor and interrupted her own sentence. While she scrambled to pick it back up and reattach it, Toru leaned in closer.
"I'd like to make an appointment." The secretary, still struggling with her own shock, pressed a button hidden somewhere vaguely beneath the desk. Lo and behold, the Lord himself came out to find out what all the hubbub was about.
Toru relayed his business yet again and handed him the documents in question. Glancing with confusion between the colorless woman behind the desk and the ninja before him, the Lord wordlessly accepted the documents. He dismissed Toru with a weak show of thanks and an awkward shuffle back into his quarters.
With a deep-set scowl and a private joke running in his mind, Toru made his way into town to see if he could find the nearest inn.
