[Chuunin Examiner]

Test 2 – The Body

The team of two would be led to a single tower. The tower was large, and was five stories tall. Large front doors appeared on the front of the tower. Two more examiners would be standing outside the doors. When the teams would arrive before them, the examiners who led them there would disappear. Then the two examiners at the door would say a few things to the participants.

”This tower is five stories tall, with five rooms on each story. There is a piece to a scroll in one room on each story, making five pieces in all. Your task is to gather them and assemble them correctly on the plaque on the top story. Once you do that, a final task will be revealed to you. Complete it, and the way out will be made clear. Remember, no chakra may be used except in minimal amounts. The only thing you can do is any academy technique as well as using any chakra to maintain your form. A warning will be given for the first time it goes over that limit. Do it again, and you will be disqualified. Now… Please follow us.”

The examiners would lead the two inside through a small hallway past the front doors. The examiners would then leave and perform a jutsu, causing the front doors to disappear, meaning that escape from the tower was impossible in terms of going back. Just before they performed this jutsu, one of the examiners would say one word, audible enough for both to hear.

”Floor”

With that word said, the doorway would disappear, and exit through the front door would be impossible. Each of the towers would be identical in terms of the main section. A large spiral staircase would get the teams from floor to floor. The main rooms are pentagonal shaped, with one small door on each side. On to top floor, there is a plaque with five distinct spaces. Each door is numbered 1-5. Inside one room on each floor, whether behind a trap or not, is a scroll piece, either in a chest or out in the open.

OOC Time. First off, use THIS MAP to kind of understand how the main floors are laid out. There is an IIC date of 2 days. Miss it and you will be skipped. If you need more time, then Pm your teammates or your examiner. If the examiner misses the IIC date, then please just wait. If it gets to be around 4 or 5 days, then PM another examiner to post there until your examiner gets back. There is no predetermined Posting order. First post is post as you want. After that, follow the order of the posts that occurred in the first round. The examiner will always post after your post, even if it is just to say something like “Clear” or “Go ahead”

In terms of what was said IC about all academy techs and minimal chakra usage in order to maintain your form, I mean it. You cannot use it to walk on water or up walls or anything like that without using your one chance. But you may use academy techs, INCLUDING the exploding tag activation AND Shunshin. If you happened to train a lot in Shunshin, then you get the upper hand. All academy techniques, and chakra to maintain your form. That is all that you can use in terms of chakra without using up your one chance. Your one chance is where you may, accidentally or intentionally, use over that limit of chakra. It will be stated that you have used your chance over an intercom. Using it again will result in disqualification. You may still go throughout the tower if you want, but that choice belongs to you.

This exam will end one of two ways. Either if every team passes or fails (Either by dying, giving up, or being disqualified), OR when there are only 8 people left alive (Including those who have already passed.) One person dying in the team DOES NOT mean that the team fails. The other teammate(s) may continue on on their own. The purpose of teams is to give some help to get passed the traps in the room. But they are not linked together in terms of failing by dying. If one person is disqualified or one person gives up, then the entire team is gone. But if one person dies, the other person(s) may continue on their own. The towers make-up in terms of traps and location of scroll pieces is completely up to the examiner. They are not predetermined.

The 3rd exam will begin 3 days after the second round ends. In the event that there are more then 10 people after the 2nd round, then a preliminary round will begin. 1 day after the second round ends. After those end, then the 3rd exam will begin 2 days later. Good luck.[/font]

Breathe girl..one down, two more to go. As excited as the young rebellious teen was for passing the first exam with little trouble, her heart was still racing as the examiners began leading them to the area where round two was going to be held. She was nervous, and anxious -- yet thrilled, all at the same time. This round would prove to be most difficult, and if she wanted to pass this time around then she would have to give it everything she had. Unlike many of the other competitors, the teen didn't have much of an arsenal to work with, but one thing that she did have was a properly working brain, thus her strategies would have to pull her through this one. It was time to efficiently show her brother, Ichi; the Hokage, just why she deserved the title of Chuunin. Haha, as well as her lovable partner, Takeshi whom were all related.

The powerful duo were stopped at this rather large tower, where they met with two more guards and the ones that escorted them quickly left as well. It appeared as though they had a strict procedure for doing these things, but the rebel remained strong. One of the examiners would speak, and she would listen to him with a perceptive ear to ensure that she understood this round in full. Something shocking was released to the two when they said no chakra may be used except in small amounts, and if they are caught again, they'd be disqualified. Her mind immediately began to shift over this clear handicap of theirs, while trying to asses a strength that can overcome that.

Large front doors opened as the group went inside of the tower and stood within the hallway. The examiners didn't follow them this time, and the girl began to carefully think about their current situation within the building. A single word was muttered from the examiners mouth, and with the word followed a vanishing act of the front door and passageway. They were now trapped within this tower full of...traps and had to figure a way out. Taking all of this information in, the rebel sighed softly as she looked towards her partner and gazed within his facial features. She wondered how he felt about this whole entire thing.

"Well..I guess we should start with weaponry. All I have is the goodie bag that Ichi gave us, and several scrolls with my puppets in them, which are now useless." It would have been smart of her to buy some more equipment before leaving, but she didn't expect such a twist to occur within the exams. "One we are finished with prepping our equipment and getting fully stocked, we'll asses the situation in better detail to ensure a safe, yet secure victory. I know we can do it." For once, the miserable teen smiled to her brethren, it was a tough road ahead of them. But if they just took it one step at a time, everything will be alright.

While her partner would check out his equipment, the young ninja would walk in a circle around the room to judge the distance of each of the door, and try to spot any distinct or not so obvious details about each door. She noticed they were labeled, and behind one of the doors lied a piece of a scroll that would be needed for the top floor. She imagined that each floor was like this, but the girl aimlessly continued on walking in a circle. Twenty-five rooms..one piece of a scroll on each floor. Her mind began calculating possible possibilities while observing all that she could from the outside.

'ust wats next...?

A singular thought to run through his mind as the party of two would be led to a rather large tower where they would spend the next amount of un-needed time with in; such a thing of wretched simplicity to be made into a sport of over-working oneself to the extent of simply losing their life for a mis-thought step- maybe that was the true test... To see if one could still think straight and practical under both stress, fatigue, and possible fear; to those who feared it anyway. The air would remain rather still now as both of them would await the examiner to speak, the air to give a burst of life every so often, and a mane of unruly-brown to dance with it as the urge to pull a cancer-stick would begin to manifest itself in a stronger mental sense, though, he would fight it for now.

Finally would the words exit from the parting lips of the examiner as they would go on to explain the test to its fullest, as well as what was and wasn't allowed; chakra must had been used in minimal amounts in order to allow ones stay with in the second round; if one had exceeded an over use upon such a fine power, then they would be booted from the exams. How atrocious! Well, for those who had to rely on chakra to maintain the balance of all things around them; luckily Takeshi hadn't been one of those people, his body was of the Taijutsu art. Though his ears would lock onto the sounds of his partner; Guan-Yin as she would now begin to speak words herself, asking of what equipment had been upon them, and easily would Takeshi reply.

”'y 'eapons aren't nut'in too special. Got 'hree swords, an' an Axe and lotsa secondaries'.”

He'd speak, and while doing so he'd open up a pouch of secondaries, and moments later would he pull the Axe from his back-- a newly bought weapon that he knew would simply glimmer once in the movement of light gifted from the orb of heat to be located far above them. ”'ts good ta see 'our confident.”

Here they come..

A pair of crimson eyes peered at their frames from his hiding spot as he grinned to himself. His true purpose in this round unknown, both Genin obviously came prepared for quite a dangerous experiance. The room they started in was obviously quite bare and bland, save for one smaller detail that would be noticed by the female of the group (PM incoming for the details). Yes, she would be off to a good start, unlike many others who had tested this series of traps to make sure it was challenging enough. Quitely sliding his panel shut, the man would fade into the shadows, so much to do. Which door however would they choose to face first?

Proceed with caution, it may be the last thing you do..

Already, her careful planning was coming into fruition despite obvious handicaps. Her partner lies out his weapons and without even asking, she'd pick up his rather large axe and take it for her own. "This should work." Swinging it around the air like an experienced taijutsu user, she began to twirl it with her second hand as well.

Her eyes began to fire up with confidence, the girl was ready. She would then whisper something into Takeshi's ear, before beginning the hunt. "You can take on your own door, use a long blunt object to begin. I'll take on my own. Since this is round two, I am feeling for door number two." With the few words spoken, she would walk up to the door two, not too close now but about six yards away and stare at it. Using the axe in hand, she slammed it on the ground to test for trap doors.

If all was good, she'd tap the door with her stick moderately to test its stability, and if nothing odd occurred she'd grab the doorknob and turn it open, then stepped back. Using the axe within hand, she'd push the rest of the door open to see what was in side. Depending on if the door was jammed and how well, she'd either try to open it some more, or leave it go and attempt another door.

Eyes of white would narrow slightly as an eyebrow resting above and raise for question when he would feel a slight tug upon his weapon, not fighting back would the girl succeed in taking the large weapon as her own, and obviously, he wouldn't ask question- Guan-Yin would most likely be the brain of the group. His eyes would rest upon her small frame for a second, though only to move as soon as the weapon would begin a series of twirls and spins; it was if she had used something of the caliber in the past, though now would it be time to actually pay attention to the mission on hand; they would need to locate those 'things' of up most importance, yet survive while they would do it.

He would bend to the idea of the girl with relative ease, what she spoke of would make sense; making sure that the floor hadn't been rigged would be the safest of things, fully allowing him to advance forward with the lack of pain that would be most unwanted. So by grabbing one of the three foot Katana's would he slam it on the floor, the edged to be turned away to reduce the risk of getting it stuck. If things had been safe would he continue to do so until he would meet with the door. He'd strike the door in the same fashion as the floor, and if things were safe, he'd proceed to turn the door nob, he would open it at arms length to assure time to pull back quickly if it had been required. If all things would be safe he would push the door open, making sure to slam the opposite side of the blade upon the earth; his movements to repeat themselves like the sounds of a broken record. If he would sense danger, he would simply move back; after all, he had reflexes far greater then those of the norm.

His target? The fourth door- maybe math was intertwined with it all; if there had been two people in the second round, that would equal four- thus he would go for the fourth door.

Crack!

Therewas no trap door, however the floor boards were not as strong as she anticipated. Showering her legs in smalll pieces of wooden shrap, tiny chips would simply clatter to the floor and make noise, probably not a good thing. With the small upstart settled, the room would go back to an almost eerie level of quiet, not even the light fixtures seemed to making any sound. As the Kunoichi approached, her foot steps would once more sound, quietly, however it would be enough for whatever was in the room. A pretty bad choice however to tap the door. As the axe touched the wood, the door would simply fall off it's hinges and smash onto the floor with a loud echoing sound.

Ssss..

Hopefully the two Shinobi were smart enough to decipher the type of creature that made that sound, or else they definitely were not Chuunin material. The room it's self would be pitch black, not even the light from the main room seemed to make enough for the floor to be illuminated, without finding a light source they would be walking through the room in the dark. As for the male Hyuuga, his endevours would be almost the same. No trap doors or falling floor tiles would be found in the first room as it was to be considered a haven. Approaching the door, he would find that nothing happened that was out of the ordinary, not even when he turned the door knob.

With a creak the sound of the door opening would echo into the room which was well lit and appeared to be empty. All around the edges of them room left lay several levers on the floor and a small panel in the very center that obviously seemed not to belong to the rest of the room. Starting five feet from the left of the door from, the levers would go all the way around the walls with only a two feet space between the levers and the walls.

At a first glimpse, it appeared as though the young teenage had swung the axe a little too hard and came tumbling down the floor in front of the door. Though she caused quite a ruckus, something good came out of it, no trap floor. Time to check the door, and as she tapped it moderately, it too came crumbling down as if it were tissue paper. What an odd make of a room. As the door came crashing down, she heard a hissing sound from within the room, not good. Quickly, she placed the axe on the floor beside her while grabbing a kunai while wrapping it within an exploding tag. Only one way to get rid of the beast, she thought. Focusing chakra within her all seeing white evil eyes, her byakugan came into play.

This doujutsu didn't take much of her chakra to maintain, as keeping it active only took about an e-rank worth of chakra per turn, so the Hyuuga member would remain safe for now but she clearly had bigger problems to deal with. She'd see everything within the levels and contents of the first floor, including the room with the hissing sound. If it was nothing but a mere genjutsu, its illusion would be dispelled and she'd be free to search any other room, or continue to search that one. Her eyes would scan for any ropes, levers, switches, and other hidden treasures that were within the first floow. If there truly was a snake within that room, she'd launch the kunai towards it and set off the exploding tag. She'll be damn if she can't solve this puzzle now...

As the sharp sound of 'annihilated' wood would perfume the air would the Hyuuga male make certain to not turn his head back-- if anything had gone now, a simple wail of his name would summon him forth at quick speeds. With his own pride swallowed would he advance to the door, turning its nob with no difficulty at all, though the eerie sound of the door would be swift to make the ears of the Hyuuga male work; still would he proceed with caution. At first glance there would appear to be nothing in the room, even though lights had been of plentiful numbers. Optics of white would now roam around the room in their most basic of form, and upon doing so would they transfer data of levers, though not just that- a control panel as well. This was getting interesting.

In curiosity would he now begin to advance- the panel would be where he would set his course. Tapping the floor in the same fashion as once before would he do his best to ensure his greater safety, his reflexes grand enough to avoid a trap thanks to years of experience in the form of a blade. If he would make it without trouble to the panel would he proceed to tapping it lightly with the tip of the blade, such a thing would assure a safe distance between him and the panel. If all things would check out with a mark of safety he would allow his eyes to absorb the information of the control panel by advancing forward once more. Why was this room so different to what he had been use to? Though, hopefully the control panel would allow him to better grasp the situation to its fullest.

Watching the veins creep up on the girls temples, the man with crimson eyes would retreat quickly to the top of the tower without being spotted. A Hyuuga would foil his attempts to confuse them for now, the first floor not being as dangerous as it was confusing. The snakes would vanish into nothingness as they were all rolled pieces of parchment tied shut and charmed with a genjutsu. There was nothing different about any of these scrolls seemingly upon first glance, however upon investigation one might turn out another surprise which would be favorable in this situation.

As for the male, his path to the panel would be safe, however the panel would turn out to be nothing more then a steel floor tile. Nothing rest upon it however the levers could very well be a huge clue as to what the tile was for. Etched on the front the words would read "Go ahead, give them a tug, try me!" as if extending a challenge to a child or a pesky thief.

"Contestant Guan-Yin, no more chakra or you will be removed."

Just as she thought, this apparent snake was nothing more then just an illusion, used to fool her from her true goals. Something interesting though, was the paper used to hold the snake together. However, as she went to go get the paper she heard one of the examiners announce something. By activated her byakugan, she exceed her one chance at using chakra, so the girl sighed and knew she couldn't rely on any other techniques. Luckily for her, this doujutsu of hers was quiescent that it keeping it active would be possible in these exams. She wouldn't need any other techniques to get through these exams safely, and as long as she didn't have to reactivate the technique, she would be fine. Her eyes allowed her insight on everything within the building.

Her hands would grab the piece of parchment and read it from afar using her byakugan, then once it was safe {so it wasn't like rigged to explode} she would take it up and read it. Hopefully it was a clue to this puzzle, and she can go on searching the other rooms. Once more, she would scan all of the rooms within the first floor, and find which one hid a piece of the scroll or puzzle hidden on the wall so she may access it quickly. Her bloodline limit allowed her to find things with ease, as if it were consuming the same amount of energy it took her to bat an eyelash. Once the room would found with the other hidden puzzle meaning, she'd scan the room for traps, and if the door was rigged as well -- including the floor. She'd scan everything.

The true goal to her overarching plan was to do this to each floor, and, find the one piece of the scroll from each floor and then place it upstairs on the plaque. She had to hurry! This was a race, as well. A race that she wanted to win. In truth, she should have already been mentally equipped with the entire knowledge of this tower, but for second remembrance she would reiterate how well her bloodline limit truly was. Her eyes could see through anything, and read everything, piercing through things, within one-hundred yards, which was nearly double as big as a five story tower would be. The puzzle, which was the first clue she had ever gotten, would now be within her grasp as she decided to focus on the first floor first. Where is it.. She then, if she didn't already get a piece of the scroll, would scan for that too.

Optics of milk would be quick to catch etched words, reading them with the utmost of ease; Go ahead, give them a tug, try me!. Quickly would the male stand straight, and his mind would go into thought as he would now begin to decipher the multiple possibilities there would now be thanks to the clue thrown off by the panel- though what had it truly wanted? Clearly there had to be some sort of secret behind this all; a code that would only be understood when thought of properly. His would would turn itself slightly as eyes would peer over his shoulder and onto the second lever going clockwise. It kinda made sense; second leaver, second test, two people, second use of chakra in a large about would lead in disqualifying- was there to be a secret hidden in the 'twos'?

Now would he begin to follow the path that would lead to the lever of his choice; and quickly would he begin a walk to what he had been aiming for. As of now things seemed to aid up fairly well; all things seemed right in this God-Created world; or... did he over think it, again? What ever the case was to be unwrapped the moment he would reach it. His walk would be a rather relax one, though it would be prone for an instant change if it was called for; though he planned to ready himself for anything. When he would make it to the leaver would he tap it once with his weapon, and if things appeared safe he would proceed to pull it with one arm; he would be damned if there was a hint of difficulty in doing this. This mans physical strength knew no bounds compared to that of a commoners.

What would be the result?

So it would come to this, bloodline treachery.

The man who kept watch chuckled to himself, the level of caution he watched them take by banging and prodding was the funniest thing he'd ever seen. Such displays showed that they were overly cautious, and thus as a leader that could lead to many problems as well. Meanwhile for Guan, things would be alot easier as she could see most of the first floor. In all rooms her vision would pierce, she would see a small box that sat in what seemed to be an empty room in room four (I have no clue which one Hiroko is in). Inside the chest sat a small cube that seemed of no importance to a normal person, however to someone in the exams this might be one of the most crucial finds of their time spent here. The scroll in her hand however would turn out to be a simple dumpling recipe.

As for the man in the room of levers, he'd find out that this trap was not as hard as he'd think. Giving the lever a soft tug, the floor panel in the center would rotate several times, spinning rapidly as a small box seemed to be rooted to it's center. How did one make it stop? Surely the lever he had pulled could do so? Or perhaps another lever within this room would make the panel come to a halt.

After the entire first floor revealed itself to Guan, she'd exit the current room that she was in for the room labeled three. It wouldn't be long until she made her way in front of the door. While she scan everything once more, using her doujutsu she checked if there were any traps on the door, beneath the floor, on the ceiling, and more importantly in the room itself. Hidden wires, more fake scrolls, all of this information would be revealed to her before she even approached the door. If that cube had nothing of importance, she'd leave it be and approach the other rooms.

After concluding that this was the room in which she needs those key elements to pass this round, she would place her hand on the door knob gentle, and push the door open. She would use her axe that she had borrowed from Takeshi as a walking pole, with the blade just barely brushing against the floor in front of her as she walked. The girl would open the chest after already ensuring that there were no traps on it.

If the chest required a key or combination to be opened, the girl would step all of the way to the door way, attach an exploding tag onto a single kunai, and throw it towards the chest. Just when it was about three yards away, she'd set off the tag so the explosion would just break the chest open, and not its contents. Otherwise, she'd just opened the chest if it wasn't locked, and picked up the small cube...what did she find? Good stuff~

Such an annoyance...

Words that were surely an understatement for this all- a man of physical nature, torn and dwindled into things that he would never normally do, nor would he have to do. With a sigh would he turn his head slowly, the noise to escape from the whirring machine had been one rather obvious; and would surely raise curiosity. With a quick surge of chakra from optics of milk would veins protrude from their proper spot; and the Byakugan was to remain active-- a technique which was classified a higher rank then its initial cost of chakra would fully intend- it was how difficult it would be to activate, though after activation was achieved would the cost of chakra equal of your stander exploding tag, if not less. So upon activation would all become visible to him at a distance of 100 yards-- detail would be gifted to him by the Gods of Sight.

Clearly there would have to be some sort of gear mechanism that would de-activaite the rotating panel, and clearly would its location be granted upon Oculi of Pocilean, as well as any other things that would halt his advance in the exams- his eyes would pierce the very soul of this building. If he were to locate that 'special lever' he would make his advance towards it, and from there on would he simply pull it and hope for the best.

You see trap mechanisms in the ceiling. A saw, and all things that activates it, the wire connected to the door handle. Proceed as you would. You also see the puzzle, in the chest, wee.

You see the lever which connects directly to the floor panel, should you pull it the panel will stop and the box is yours.

Having the knowledge of the traps within the room, she had to cleverly think of a way to get her within the room, without setting the trap off. Placing the axe upon her back, she'd know exactly what to do once she analyzed the situation a little better by viewing all of the components of the trap. As long as she did not open the door fully, the trap wouldn't active, this she'd be safe.

Turning the handle, she'd open the door slowly and slipped through, as it only opened about fifteen percent of the way opened. Most people would have just flung the door open, but she did not. The wire moved but before the 'hidden' mechanisms could react, she would close the door thus not activating the trap. The girl would open the chest after already ensuring that there were no traps on it.

If the chest required a key or combination to be opened, the girl would step all of the way to the door way, attach an exploding tag onto a single kunai, and throw it towards the chest. Just when it was about three yards away, she'd set off the tag so the explosion would just break the chest open, and not its contents. It would appear as if his milky optics had served him well; he knew exactly where to look thanks to one of his few aces. Walking over to the proper lever would he extend his hand outward, grabbing upon it and yanking it once more with his strength- though not hard enough to break it. Upon doing so would the the rapidly rotating box come to a halt; just what he had needed. Turning to face the box would he advance forward, his eyes set upon the box, though still having grasp of nearly everything around him at a 100 yard diameter. So with that said would he know if there was anything fishy of the box.

Upon approaching it would he re-sheath his blade, and depending on what kind of box it had been would he open it. If it was a simply box with hinged which would bend would his strength allow him to easily pry it open- undermining his strength was a thing rarely down. If it was a box that required to be forced open with more then just a pull would he would re-draw his blade, and simply half it to where the contents wouldn't be damaged- whether it be vertical, horizontal, or diagonal.

Guan-Yin - Once the cube has been removed from the box, it suddenly splits into 2 cubes of equal size. Upon the face of each cube is a number ranging from 1 - 6. The wall in the distance shifts revealing a large electric screen which displays the instructions.

"Time to play! Roll the dices and see if you can beat my number."

Takeshi - The box opens with ease revealing a scroll sitting within. Should you grasp the scroll and open it, a sudden small stream of water will fly out and hit you. It does nothing besides get you a little wet.

"Haha, wrong one."

Having already scanned the room for any traps, or scrolls, she would take the dice and toss them on the box to see what 'number' she could possibly get. Had there been any danger within the room PRIOR TO SCANNING IT WITH HER BYAKUGAN, SHE WOULD EXIT IT BECAUSE THIS WASN'T APART OF ROUND TWO. SHE DOUBT THAT THEY HAD EVEN MADE THIS KIND OF TRAP WITHIN ADMIN TALK, AND IF SOMETHING SHOULD GO WRONG SHE WOULD RAISE ALL HELL. This number better beat the...electronic screens and she better have gotten a scroll or completed her still incomplete puzzle already. Her patience was wearing thin.
