Rank: B-ranked
Plot:
Being out there as a mountainous island meant that Umi no Kuni had always had trouble with finding enough supplies for their own populace to thrive. As a result the local nobles have been fighting each other on both land and water dominance over the trading lines, as those are the key to ruling the entire island. After a few decennia of fighting a more or less stable balance of power came into existence, causing most of the fighting to cease as a certain peace came into life. Though feeble this peace has lasted for several centuries. Off course minor skirmishes have been taking place, but nothing of a severity worthy to be mentioned. Though all of the Feudal lords still dream of a trading monopoly, the thought that one of them would ever acquire such a height of power was unthinkable until a few months ago…
The four greatest families had always been in balance, as the Shishi clan held the northern territories of the island. The western edge, and thus, most of the sea trade have always been in the hands of the Bouhatei family, whilst the southern side is being governed by the Hachuu family, finally the eastern territories are held by the Sasori clan. The center of this island, the capital city is a bit of a neutral ground as local gangs there prevented the families from getting a foothold there. This division of trade and territory suddenly came in rough weather the last months…
The Hachuu family four months ago opened a new trade route and suddenly they are swimming in the money. Whatever they are doing on that trading line is so profitable that since then they have been able to undercut everyone else’s prizes. Concerned that the Hachuu family would take over the entire trade the other families have started their individual counter assaults, still divided by their own hatreds.
The Shishi and Sasori families are definitely up to something but only the Bouhatei family has come out in the ‘open’ to fight the Hachuu family. They have sent their agents to the Konohakagure, to request the Mist ninja’s for aid. Their job would be to infiltrate the Hachuu family by infiltrating their caravans and ships as a mercenary, their mission would be to see what it is that is being transported along that mysterious trade route, and if possible to steal that cargo and bring it to the Bouhatei family mansion so that they can inspect for themselves. Also gather as much information as possible on the opponents trade contacts. However, watch out, the Shishi and Sasori families are on the prowl and although they are the enemies of the Hachuu family they are also the enemies of the Bouhatei family…
