"Now this next move can only be learned by those worthy of the title of Suiton Master. After having learned Shinsui, everyone can pretty much tell that you got some talent at least." I smiled to myself as I listened to Ryuzaki speak. But what he spoke of interested me. Well, everything regarding a level beyond mastery interested me. "This move is named Suiton: Haran Banshou. Its power and uses are high and many. Here is a demonstration of what it does." I watched carefully as I backed away from Ryuzaki. No doubt from the sound of things, this next Suiton technique seemed to be an area of effect technique. It would be wise to give my senpai some room.

He gathered up his chakra and then performed a moderate amount of hand seals. That meant that while this technique was not too weak, it was not extremely powerful either. Yet it interested me that Ryuzaki would say that it was strong. Facing away from me, Ryuzaki completed the hand seals. Then what was happening in the sky caught my attention. A torrent of water cascaded down to the earth and then, as if by divine design, flowed in only direction: the direction senpai was facing. The water swept through the earth, pulling plants up by the roots and ripping through the weaker parts of the earth. Crashing into a mountainside, the wave finally stopped. That had done it. I was impressed.

The sheer scope of this technique was quite large. No doubt I would be able to suppress multiple opponents at once with this technique. "Not a bad technique, eh? There are many nuances within this technique, but first things first. As you can see, the first effect this technique has is that it summons a great deal of water. Now doing this usually requires the special technique that comes with Suiton Mastery, the Oxy-Hydro Conversion technique. However, I expect you to do better, as I know you to be adept in our clan’s art of summoning water. Now go for it; I will be back tomorrow to check up on you." I nodded, taking his words to heart. Ryuzaki would leave, letting me think about how to best master this technique myself.

First, I went over the hand seals in my mind. I was used to having to see a sequence of hand seals only once before having to commit them to memory in order to perform the technique correctly. After I repeated that several times, I then visualized what was to happen, replaying what Ryuzaki had done not too long ago. With growing confidence, I started to gather my chakra. Molding it as best as I could for a first try, I then raised my hands and started to swiftly perform the hand seals needed. Arriving at the final seal, I would look up to see my chakra materialized into water above me. From the looks of it, things were going good so far. I moved back a few steps and then had the water cascade down...if one could call that cascading down.

Now perhaps I had underestimated the amount of chakra that I needed. Moreover, the water did not seem to be converting smoothly in the sky. It seems that more chakra and focus was needed. Gathering my chakra once more, I would deftly go through the numerous hand seals. This time, I would not fail. Once again, the water began to rapidly convert above me. Standing out of its way, I would then make it descend unto the earth. With a great deal more chakra, there was an amount almost rivaling what Ryuzaki had made. This seemed to be enough for now. Of course, I would work on this as I moved through the other states of the technique, but this was enough for now.

The next day, Ryuzaki was back and I was there in front of him. "So, you got the first step down?" I gave a nod in response. "Well, show it to me." I smiled faintly to myself as my chakra surged from within me. Quickly gathering and concentrating that chakra, I would swiftly raise my hands and complete the complex sequence of hand seals. High above us at a small distance away, water started to rapidly materialize from thin air and began its descent towards rich terra. The water flowed smoothly and with force, not like that rough and uneven wave that it was yesterday. Practice had helped. Thankfully this technique did not require too much chakra to use. Yet I felt that it would still take some time before I knew the true extent of chakra usage that this technique required.

"Not bad, yet I see that you are using this technique away from you. But it is meant to be right behind you. There’s a little trick that you have to learn for this. Maybe you could not catch it the first time. Pay attention to what happens when the water and I meet." A bit annoyed at what he said, I nevertheless gave a slight nod and took a few steps back. From this close, I could feel the gathering of his Suiton chakra. Deftly moving through the hand seals, he would summon a waterfall from the heavens, admittedly more splendid than any I had been able to manifest so far. However, that was not the important point at the moment. The important point was how the water made contact with Ryuzaki, who was standing almost right beneath it. The water would definitely reach him.

Yet it did not. As if guided by divine providence, the water split as it reached Ryuzaki, going around him. Not a single drop of water touched him. Wondering how he did it, my eyes narrowed as I gazed into this cloudy puzzle for a solution. The water would soon lose its force, but that mattered not. Ryuzaki had shown me what I needed to do. He turned to face me with a smirk on his face. "Here’s a little clue. Harmonization. Now go for it." With that, Ryuzaki waved his farewell and made his way back. Sighing to myself, I would start to think over what was to be done. The clue was in the word harmonization. It did not take long for me to figure out what that meant. Yet theories and such remained conjectures unless they were proven. It was time for me to test out what I guessed the secret behind this little trick to be.

Chakra would awaken from the depths of my being and swirl around, ready to be used. Focusing it, I would then perform the several hand seals necessary, carrying this out more effortlessly each time I did it. Yet this time would be special. My eyes closed as I carefully molded my chakra. A perfect balance needed to be achieved and it had to be carried all the way through the conversion of air to water. My chakra had to be perfectly synced and it had to stay that way. The water would rapidly manifest itself above me and I gazed upon it as it surged towards me. As two poles of the same magnetic field repelled each other, the water would move to avoid me. Yet the process was imperfect. I could still water rain upon my clothes and face. This was no doubt refreshing, but it indicated my failure. Still, I knew what I had to do.

I would have to try once more. I was so close to getting the hang of this. I would not take failure as a result again. Swiftly gathering the amount of chakra I needed from my vast reserves, I sped through the hand seals in a blur. The heavens would grant my wish as air was alchemized into water high above. I would put myself on the line here. If I succeed in harmonizing my chakras, then nothing would happen. But if I failed, then safe to say, at this distance, it could be quite painful depending on the level of failure. Fortunately, I succeeded this time. The water, all of it this time, smoothly flowed around me, as if I was part of its powerful stream. Smiling, the technique would end and in the middle of it was my perfectly dry self. Giving a breath of relief, I would make my way back, wondering what would be next.

When the noon sun was high up in the blue skies, Ryuzaki and I were back on the training grounds. "Well, it’s time to see how far you have come. Show me what you got." I gave a nod in his direction as I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before starting. Gathering up my chakra, I would swiftly go through the hand seals and began the technique. From above me, water would birth from air and descend upon me. Yet as it reached me, the waves would part, channeling themselves around me. Not one part of me, clothes and all, got wet, just as Ryuzaki had demonstrated yesterday. After a few seconds of that, I stopped the flow of chakra, cutting the technique off and looked at Ryuzaki with a faint, but triumphant smile.

"Alright, it seems you got the gist of it. But you know, I noticed that all your water is doing is coming straight down. It’s not much of a technique if you cannot focus it correctly." I already knew that, but I was the type to focus on one thing at a time. I was planning on fixing that after learning how to harmonize my chakra correctly, but Ryuzaki was one step ahead of me here. It was true after all. I needed to be able to focus the water if it were to be able to what it was meant to do. Of course, being an area of effect technique, it still needed to cover a wide distance. "Here, watch carefully again. Pay attention to how the water flows from the sky and whatnot." I nodded, stepping back with my arms folded across my chest as I watched Ryuzaki do his thing.

The thing that I would need to focus on was how the water acted. Not that I needed another aspect to pay attention to, but I guess this technique was worth it. The harmonization that I mastered previously was just a preliminary step to this one, since if I could not protect my own being from the water, how would I attack with it? A surge of chakra told me that Ryuzaki had begun. Casting my gaze into the sky, I would watch as the water was created. Then it started to flow towards the earth. Seeing this one, as compared to the ones I previously summoned, this torrent of water was more like a waterfall. The water would slam the ground, flowing around Ryuzaki and racing towards the mountainside. A great crashing sound would inform me of its power. After that first wave, the technique stopped and Ryuzaki let go of the hand seal as he faced me.

"It’s good to pay attention to one thing at a time and then bring them together. Keep working at it." With that, he went and left again. Alone to think about this, I would pace around, constantly trying to visualize what the feeling of focusing such a technique would be like. After a short while, I would shake my head. Enough hypothesizing. It was time for action. Gathering my chakra, I would replicate the hand seals that I went through so many times. A small amount of water would appear before me and multiply rapidly. Before long, the wave was well on its way down. Crashing upon hitting the earth, it would then start to go forwards. Yet, as I looked back, I noticed that some of the water was drifting to the side, wasting my chakra in addition to weakening the force of the technique. Sighing, I would release the technique, stopping further production of the water.

I had to sharpen my focus. This would be getting me nowhere if I did not do anything soon. Getting a little heated up over my constant failures, I would gather a large amount of chakra, more than enough for a technique of this level. Swiftly performing the hand seals, I would then create a great mass of water above me. Flowing down, it would finally resemble the waterfall that Ryuzaki had made. This time, there was little to no waste of water, as this was a true wave, roaring forward as it charged towards the mountainside. As I had put more chakra into it, the destruction caused as it ripped into the rock was greater than what Ryuzaki had done. Satisfied with my relieving of built-up frustration, I released the technique and started back. There would be more to learn tomorrow, but I had to make sure that this would not be a problem in the future as well.

Early the next day, the two of us were both ready to continue training. Well, it was mostly just my training, but Ryuzaki mentioned to me in passing that it was nevertheless good review for him as well. He stood behind me as I prepared to show him that I was not going to fall behind that easily. In great spirits, I would summon to me just the right amount of chakra that I needed. Having come this far, it was time for me to start learning how to conserve chakra when using this technique. Hand seals finished, I would then summon to the sky a rapidly growing orb of water. Quickly losing its shape and descending towards the earth, it would look like a miniature tsunami crashing down behind me before it was sent forwards. This time, I got the direction and focus right as well, so as to keep the technique as effective as it could be.

After it crashed against the beaten mountainside once more, I released the technique and looked back at Ryuzaki. He was nodding in approval before he looked at me in the eye and started to speak. "You know, there’s another side to this technique that you probably did not discover yet. This is just an extra, but useful nonetheless. I think another demonstration is coming up." Wondering what the something extra was, I gave the floor to senpai as I watched him from the side. Was there something else this technique could do? The chakra that Ryuzaki was gathering up would tell me. As I had before, he summoned a great wave of water and sent it forwards towards the rocky mountainside. It crashed upon it. It crashed again. It crashed yet another time. And it crashed it again. And it felt like he was making a fool out of me by continuously doing that.

With that look on his face, I could tell that he knew that I got it. Acknowledging that fact, he would release the technique. "This is not as simple as it looks, just so you know. Yes, it is clear that this technique has the power to be continuous, a property that I am sure your mind registers as strategically useful. But there are certain aspects that you might miss in your rush to mastery. Take your time and I’ll see you later." I would give a nod with closed eyes. When he left, I would allow myself a faint sigh. Take my time, huh? For one who always wanted things done and done quickly, this seemed a bit new. Yet I knew the benefits of looking back and enjoying the present every now and then. Smiling as I remembered a friend from the past who used to say something similar, I would take the advice to heart. Getting back to the technique, it was time to see what I could do.

Summoning my chakra, I would swiftly perform the necessary hand seals. From up above would emerge water increasing at an exponential rate. It would not take long for it to reach me and start its charge for the mountainside. Now while observing Ryuzaki, I noticed two things. One was that he held the tiger seal the whole time. I had merely mimicked him, so I did not notice that such an action was necessary for the technique to continue on its path. Another was that he stood still. While people do not generally go all out to merely demonstrate the technique they are teaching, I felt that Ryuzaki wanted me to see both the potential of this technique as well as its limits. Coming to the conclusion that both were actual drawbacks to this technique but this only reinforced my confidence that I knew how to continue this technique.

Taking a deep breath, I would release the water from its heavenly confines. It would surge downwards from the sky and sweep through the earth. Flowing all around me, the water would move according to my wishes. But now was the moment of truth. I would concentrate upon the pulses of chakra that I had fed into the technique before. Searching for the rhythm, I would understand what I had to do as the waves hit solid rock. Sending more pulses of chakra into the technique, the waves would crash once more upon the mountain terra. I would learn the rhythm of the technique, one that I sped up a bit so as to make sure my imaginary opponent would not be able to break free from this technique. Satisfied with my success, I would release the hand seal and let the water flow outwards. Now I would wonder what would be next.

Meeting back in the afternoon, I would wait for Ryuzaki’s arrival. I had been a bit earlier, but that was something that everyone who knows me would remember. I enjoyed the sea breeze before I caught sight of something out of the corner of my eye. Seeing Ryuzaki on top of some cliff, I would turn my head towards him. Knowing that I had seen him, he would wave with his hand, signaling for me to come to him. Wondering why I had to go through this extra trouble, I commanded my mastery of Suiton and soared into the sky, heading directly towards Ryuzaki. With the power of Shinsui guiding me, I arrived at his location in virtually no time. From what I could see, while we were already elevated through rock formations extending to the sky, we were still facing another steep path upwards. Guessing his purpose with pure intuition, I would face senpai with a questioning look.

"Yeah, you probably got the reason why I called you here. I will be waiting at the top. See if you got what it takes to make your technique reach me." As I had surmised, this would be a test to see how far I could push myself. Not to mention this was indeed a long way up. Moreover, this would not be a mere matter of focus. There was a lot more to do as the natural walls here were high enough that water would not overspill. That meant he wanted me to just keep pumping up water up this mountain like place, even with all the twists and turns I knew this place had. Ryuzaki would then disappear, embarking on his ascension of the mountain. Taking a deep breath, I prepared myself for what was to come. After all, I was not sure how draining this technique could potentially be, especially with the distance I had to cover along with gravity working against me. I then stationed myself at the foot of the pathway leading upwards.

I smiled as I then started to gather my chakra. I took my time, carefully dissecting each and every time I had performed this technique. Slowly, I began to gain an intrinsic understand of the technique, of the true amount of chakra that it needed for the initial water to be summoned. Once I hit the balance between efficiency and cost, I then started to perform a blur of hand seals. Finishing on the Tiger hand seal, I would then cast my power over the heavens. My call would be answered as waves of water descend upon me and started on their long race upwards. Of course the beginning was indeed easy. But now the hard part again. After several seconds had passed, I could feel the limits of the initial chakra I installed into the jutsu. I gave another pulse of chakra, to keep the water going. From this morning, I had begun to experiment with the additional cost of chakra. Now it was time to finish that experiment.

Thanks to my boost of chakra, the water was able to crash into a wall and redirected itself towards the only way it could go with more water still pushing it from behind. The water then essentially turned and continued to climb upwards. Now I could no longer rely on sight, but on rhythm and feeling. Turning my head upwards, I scanned the steepness of the slopes my technique had to climb before reaching Ryuzaki. For now it seemed that the steepness remained around the same. Thus I could fall back on the rhythm set by the first pulse. I sent the second pulse a bit earlier, as it was better to be safe than sorry. But with what musical skills I learned from my former days, I did not miss a beat as the waves flowed through their crests and troughs after that. The water would then make another turn and continue on its way upwards. This was quite the awkward sight, a reverse water slide as some would say.

But now the task would grow in difficulty. As my survey turned upwards, the steepness would continue and there would no longer be straight paths and curves. From there on in, my water would have to traverse a spiral like path in order to reach Ryuzaki. I had to raise the tempo of the amount of chakra I was sending in. Fortunately, training like this was not as difficult as that long distance marathon with Shinsui. With a steady pace, I could do this. This was not overconfidence; this was belief. Drops of water spilling over the edges would inform me of my progress. I could feel my chakra reserves draining as I still held the hand seal while standing at the exact same place I had been before. But I could feel success within my grasp. Finally, the water would roar unto the plateau that Ryuzaki rested upon. Water flowed like a fountain down the mountain. It was truly a rewarding sight, proof of my progress.

The next morning, the two of us would meet up at a different training ground. Unlike yesterday, we had arranged this beforehand. After getting a good night’s sleep after that draining exercise, I was ready for Ryuzaki’s next assignment in teaching me this technique. However, I could not imagine much left to be taught. Looking over the location we were in, my suspicious were only reinforced. "Seeing you looking around and thinking to yourself makes me think that you know what’s coming." I smiled as I turned my head to see Ryuzaki. However, I was caught by surprise at the sight of those who were with him. Children of the Hoshigake...well, my calling them children would probably make the situation very noisy. But it did make me wonder. What was Ryuzaki’s purpose in bringing on these three?

"Surprised, aren’t we? These three will be your ‘opponents’. You have no reason to worry. This Suiton was not meant to kill, only to suppress and shape the battlefield to our liking. Besides, what clan do you think these children come from?" There was reason to his words. Still, to have children as my foes... "Alright, I shall take them as my training partners. You three better watch out." I smiled as I spoke these words. They were around the age of ten or so, superbly capable at their natural talents of strength, chakra and Suiton. Ryuzaki was right; this could be good practice. Moreover, there was a bit of drama in play here. Aya, Saki, and Touki were troublemakers until I came. The memory still makes me smile. Ryuzaki’s voice brought me back to the present. "Your goal is to get them into that cave. But if you let two or more of them touch you, then they will have succeeded in getting their revenge." Amazing, even Ryuzaki remembered. "Start!"

The three of them immediately separated, showing their deft agility. It would be a pain to get them all in the same general direction. Well, it was not like the only thing I was able to do was use the same technique. However, they certainly were not holding back. A rain of water bullets fired upon me, yet they were easily evaded with the grace of my Shinsui. They were approaching from my left, right and front. Now I had to rearrange their positions so I could hit them all at once with the Stormy Blockade. Then, an idea occurred to me. Did I particularly have to be the one to hit them and at the same time? I smiled as I created a special water clone, courtesy of the comrade who taught me it. They were not fazed. It seemed that Ryuzaki had told them I might use clones. However, what nobody else in the clan knew that was my village contained powerful secrets. Touki would be surprised as he blasted through the clone with a bulrush, only to see the clone reform itself. "I’ll take care of the clone! You two, get him!"

Certainly not a bad strategy on the spot. Aya and Saki reacted swiftly to Touki’s words and dashed for me. A single hand seal and a flash of light would surprise them slightly, but they pushed onwards regardless. Both hands reaching out, their faces would light up in glee as they thought their mission accomplished, their revenge completed. Touki would look back and his face lit up in joy as he too thought the same as their comrades. Ryuzaki sighed. To him, it seemed that Senkou still had room to grow, even after joining a village. “Checkmate.” The four would turn in surprise to the man standing behind Touki. Finishing my hand seals, I would begin the technique. They were now all in my line of fire. The clone smiled as it dispersed into a rainfall of water. From their faces, I knew a couple of them were starting to panic, having realized they had been had. From his observer’s view, Ryuzaki would shake his head while smiling. Yet something told me he still had something up his sleeve.

Summoning water from the sky, I would send it charging towards the three. Being purebred warriors of the sea since birth, they had virtually no chance of dying from this. Yet at the last moment, they pulled off a counterattack. Letting the technique hit him, Touki would fly backwards. Yet when he reached his two teammates, they would grab him and use their god given strength to shoot him out of the water’s path before the water could completely catch them. Jumping off of their shoulders, Touki flew for the stationary me. Yet what they did not realize was that my clone was not simply there for decoration. Appearing behind me, we would both smile at Touki as another summoned wave from the sky would hit him straight on and send him back towards the cave that Aya and Saki were already washed up in. Ryuzaki clapped, letting me hear it. I needed no words as I saw the three laughing. While they had lost, it was after all a fun game to them, and there would always be another day for them to get back at me. For me, this made me realize that I would be able to use this in combat now.

Description: This technique makes earth-chakra flow through the body, absorbing the properties of stone around the user to form a skin-deep armor that is transparent yet reflects light with a metallic-like gleam. Despite encasing the user’s body, the armor has no apparent affect on the user’s speed or agility. The armor is shown to be able to defend from all forms of blunt-force trauma. At the same time, it enhances the user's strength for more powerful physical strikes and break free or through restraints and walls.

Two of six

I stood in the vast greenery that seemed to go on for miles upon miles. Remembering the technique that I was recently training before I left for the Chuunins, I quickly brought my hands together to make three mud clones. Using the squelching mud around, three bubbling mud spots soon rose to be made in my image but in the form of mud. As soon as the mud clones were created, I quickly resumed my form to create the royal garment of earth to cloak myself in the form of armor. Closing my eyes, the void came up as I merged myself within deep within the Gaea. Going through a couple of hand seals, I quickly scattered all kinds of rocks, mud, and other stone-like properties that would be indeed useful for my making. Opening my eyes, I glanced around as I quickly channeled my doton chakra through my body. The flow of chakra was steady as I controlled through the earth. The properties of which I made slowly came to me like a magnet as it wrapped around me. The stones clamped onto me tightly as it was smoothed down by chakra and covered in mud. The rocks were quickly covered over the mud as it made a sturdy defense around my being. Doing a few punches and kicking, and once I made sure that the armor was light and yielded to my strength and speed, I look at the three clones, daring them to come at me.

The first mud clone stepped up as I quickly ran towards it with unmatchable speed. White optics overwhelmed my moonlit eyes as the world suddenly became clearer to me. The mud clone quickly strike first as I dodged it with ease. Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw one of the mud clones go through a series of hand seals as I watched what was about to unfold. Running towards the first clone, I punched him as spikes rose to stop me and penetrate me. Unfortunately for them, my armor was too strong and the spikes broke, my punch obliterated through the spikes and sent the clone flying into the tree nearby. Once the smoke cleared, my shining armor that was crafted by the Gaia’s powers still held to me—indomitable. I watched with interest as the second and third clone both came at me. They moved together as if they were one as complemented each other’s skills as I followed their tracks. A series of taijutsu followed through the battle as they attacked me but no harm was done to me because of the armor. I returned the punches with a series of kicking as I moved back to dodge the second clone’s attack. Thankfully, my eyes have upgraded to a point where I could even the minute changes happening as the third clone ran through a hand seal. I knew that I wasn’t going to be able to conjure up something using hand seals as to I didn’t have time. The second clone quickly engaged in a combat match as the third clone finished the hand seals.

A great mud wave with spikes underneath came at me with surprising speed as I knew that I wasn’t able to dodge this. All I could hope to do was to believe in the strength of the armor. As the muddy wave crashed into me, I braced myself for the spikes as I held on to the second clone, not letting it go. The spikes hit both of us as the clone screamed in pain. The shield of the Gaea moaned as it protected me from the spikes. I could feel it weakening, and as the smoke cleared, the second clone was no more. I stood before the third clone as I ran towards it but suddenly, the first clone from before popped out and grabbed onto me. With that, an explosion occurred as I felt pain searing through my body. My arms were bleeding, though not heavily as damages could be felt in my chest and partly in my legs. The armor was completely gone as I realized that it took the fatal injuries while the minor ones seeped through. I struggled to get up as I saw the third clone already going through some hand seals. Using my eyes alone, I tracked the amount of speed, and where it would be unleashed and in the amount of time given. With that, I shot out my arm as pain surged through it but I ignored it. Azure lightning burst out as I cut through mud clone before it could finish its hand seals. With that, I rolled over as I lay there, resting. It was going to take some time before I could try this again.

I awoke to a zephyr breeze as I stood up, observing my wounds. They have cleared up, most of them at least; as I quickly made sure that I was able to move about freely. Once I made the decision that I was able to, I ran back and forth, and did some exercise. With that, I quickly merged myself with the earth as the void shielded my mind. Using its powers, I made the armor of earth wrap around me like royalty as I quickly made sure that it much stronger than before. Five layers of smooth stones was covered by four layers of mud as six layers of hard rock covered it. Chakra baked it as it makes it light and yieldable to my power and speed. A single hand seal formed as two mud clones stood ready before me. Taking the stance of my lineage, I held on to my sword as I rushed towards them with quick speed. A sugizou followed shortly after a shushin to confuse the first clone. Azure blade pulled out as it rang loudly in the air, I wielded it with the skill close to a blade master as I ripped swiftly at the clone. Spinning around like a merry-go-round, I dodged the ninjutsu attack from the second clone as I positioned my blade towards it. The thin, razor-wire shot out and pierced the clone before it could do anything else. Quick movements with my sword quickly passed lightly in the air as I sheathed it. My armor was gleamed in the sunlight as it was time to try a much harder version.

Corkscrew Punch

Effect: A punch that looks and feels as if the user is hitting like a Corkscrew.

Description: Kid McCoy is universally given credit for creating this punch which was well known for the cutting damage that it would inflict on his opponent's faces. It is punch that is in the same league as the Counter so far as power is concerned. It most closely resembles a Straight, but is thrown inward while twisting the shoulder, elbow, and wrist. The Corkscrew uses the same science as that of a bullet firing out of a gun, where the combination of a spinning projectile and excessive force causes a greater impact. The motions involved are similar to that of a Screwball in Baseball and this analogy is fitting as the punch has a noticeable "wind-up" sequence that makes it somewhat foreseeable. When the user hits with this technique the opponent gets cuts along their bodies and begins to bleed from the cuts.

Thinking back to my days at the gym, I remembered when I learned my first ‘signature’ punch: the Corkscrew Punch. As I was hitting the sandbags, my trainer, Nagi, suddenly came up to me. “It looks like you got the basics down very well. And you have a great deal of power to boot. Do you want to learn a new special move?” Curious at what the guy who single-handedly defeated me in a hand to hand spar had to show me, I gave a nod. He pointed to the ring. “Get in there and I’ll show you what it’s like.” I nodded as the two of went to get our headgear and gloves. Was it one of the punches that he had used to completely overwhelm me? I did not know yet, but I was anticipating what I would be able to do with the new skill.

Getting into the ring, we readied ourselves for the spar. With his long silver hair tied back and his slender, but muscular figure, my trainer exalted quite a pressure in the ring, even if it was just a spar. Another boxer rang the gong and the spar would begin. We would circle each other, using light shifting steps to get around the ring. Wary of his skills, I kept my guard up, waiting for him to come to me. And then, he moved in. Firing off a barrage of rapid jabs, he was forcing me back already! However, none of them hit yet, but forced into a tight guard, I had no way of counterattacking. Cursing my fate, I would suddenly use my legs and circle around Nagi, taking my distance. The moment I was free, I began to use my left jabs, noticeably slower than Nagi’s, but enough to keep him occupied. I needed to get an opening to attack.

However, Nagi would defy all expectations as he charged headfirst, bracing himself for my jabs. He took them like they were nothing and ended up very close to me. I immediately put my guard up, blocking as much space as I could. However, because of that, I could not see his punch, but it completely blew away both my arms. I was stunned and a bit off balance. All it took for Nagi was to step in and throw a left at my face to make me take a down. “What was that punch?” He smiled at me from his corner. “Get up and I’ll show you again.” I would give him a glare before standing up. There was no damage, but that was only because he had been holding back. We would take our fighting stances once again and the spar would resume.

He would then stand there, beckoning for me to come to him. After a few seconds of observing him, I would go for him. I attacked his head with several jabs before sending a right hook into his body. However, blocking each hand with a hand of his own, he nullified my attack with ease. Pushing his body against me, he would then deliver a body blow against me, which knocked me back. Then he stepped back. Still recoiling from the blow, I would look up, wondering what he was doing. And there it was, the punch that I was to learn. Twisting his whole body to put power in the punch, Nagi spun his shoulder, elbow and wrist. The punch would spiral towards me and hit me directly on the forehead. I would be sent flying back, my headgear flying off.

“Well, that’s the second time that you had to take the Corkscrew punch. You must have felt it pretty hard, eh?” I coughed as I sat back up. Indeed, that had been quite a punch. I could tell that he had been holding back too, but it was just in the nature of that punch to be that powerful, that piercing. Looking at my arms, I saw that there were cuts along where Nagi had threw the Corkscrew into my guard earlier. This was a fearsome punch. Nagi then came over and put out his hand. “Well, get up first. Then I’ll break down the punch for you and lay out what you have to do in order to use it successfully.” I stayed down for a few seconds, recovering. After a deep breath, I would take his hand and he would lift me up. I smiled, this training was going to be fun.

Three of six

Going through some hand seals, I quickly produced five rock clones to life as they quickly rise from the stones around me. Each rock clone was positioned in a circle around me. My blade in my right hand, I stood ready with my earthen armor as two came at me with a surprising speed. Nevertheless, my eyes perceived their movements as I dodged their attacks with ease. My blade slammed against one of the two clones’ arm as the other one moved to do a couple of hand seals. A series of hand seals that I knew all too well; I quickly attempted to trip the clone as it jumped into the air. The punch that it directed to me, slammed into my armor but it was useless as I quickly dived into the earth, racing away from the giant mud wave that was performed by the second clone. However, before I did that, the wire on my cobalt sword shot out to grip the leg of the clone that performed the giant mud wave. Successful as it was, I quickly traveled through the earth and could hear the rock clone’s body scraping across the surface. I continued on until I could no longer hear the body making any sort of noise. But as I turned around, I was thankful for my ocular powers as I saw two directly above me and one traveling underground as well, coming towards me. Putting my blade away, I quickly performed a hand seal as the rock clone came with a huge spike in his hand but it slammed into water.

Water exploded throughout the entire surface, breaking through the ground and thus, pushing back the rock clones. Out the waves of the water, I arose, standing on it as if I was its master. Quickly, I stepped down as water was all around me. This was now my territory only. As the four rock clones stood before me on the spots of hard ground that was left, I stood on the waters, daring them to step off as I still had my armor. As the second clone from before stepped onto the water, I rushed through a couple of hand seals to thrown him off balance. The water created a wave rushed at him as I saw another clone go through some hand seals. Earth split across the water as it held the clone steady; I shushin towards the clone quickly as I pulled out my sword. It rang with a unique song to it as I cut through the earth barrier. Electricity sparkled through it as I kept on cutting through the barrier. The rock clone moved back in attempt to dodge the blade, but the wire—which was encased in electricity—penetrated its body before it could reach its comrades. As it splashed into the water, pieces of earth and debris scattered across the calm surface, creating a gentle ripple. I brought the blade upwards as the wire returned. The azure blade cut through the barrier completely, splitting it in half as I now stood before three clones.

After all this combat, my armor still gleamed in the sunlight, ready to protect me from harm should the clones manage to get past my deadly skills of swordplay. This time, something rather interesting happened: Two rock clones started running towards me fast in a form of a double helix as I quickly saw something but the rock clone blocked my vision. Engaging me in close combat, I dodged the few attacks as returned them with equal, if not more, strength as the second clone came from above. Chakra rushed through my armor as the rock clone smashed me into the water. Feeling no pain, I knew that the armor held steady as I watched from underwater. Swimming through the water, I quickly shot out only to find five more rock clones—a total of eight clones—as I quickly gave a short, snide smile. Landing on the water, my azure sword in my hands, electricity sparkled through it as I waited patiently for them to come.

I stood on the hard ground, my eyes still active. The earth armor that surrounded my being slowly began to dissipate as the urge to relax was stronger now than before. I quietly observed the area around me, quickly giving in to the tiredness as a sudden blur was pierced through by the uses of my eyes. White optics observing what was going on, I could see five ninjas, rogues it seemed, as they lay hidden--their fool ill pride taking over as they moved closer. I remained on the ground, pretending not to notice, innocence as the birds flying overhead. My chakra oozed into the deepest parts of the earth as all kinds of materials rose to the surface but not quite visible yet. The rogues were near me now, using their ability to turn invisible as I watched at the corners of my eyes. Their swords raised, the Gaea and the Gods on my side; and so began the idiotic battle. The pain of it! The stupidity! Ah, I cared not of what happened to them, they attacked first and they were rogues; which meant that their village wanted them dead anyway. My hood covering my face as their swords pierced me, but shock splattered their faces as their sword touched earth armor that now clamped to my body. The lazuli sword in my hands, I moved to dance with the rogues.

Four of Six

The graceful dance of my people flowed within me, as one by one, I took them down. Yes, they strike where skin should have been, and yes they failed; again and again, opposing the gods above but defeated time and again. I stood there; the crimson liquid matted my armor as my azure sword shined in the afternoon light. My armor was my defense, however heavy it looked, it was surprisingly light. A lone man with both of his arms bloodied, ripped and torn; the skin barely hanging on to its home stood ten meters from me. His sword in his mouth for he could no longer use his arms, his eyes fierce and with the undeniable rage that burned with such hate; he ran towards me and let out a howl so unspeakable that the Gaia cried once more. A sigh escaped my lips as I moved to meet the fallen warrior, our blade producing the sweet song of metal as death was high among us. The hits did not affect me, of course not, for my armor was God's gift, the armor of protection as I hit the hilt--horizontally--and thus the blade flew out of his lips, blood touching the ground that was no longer innocent. My breath heavy, I stood there with the eyes that the rogue seemed to hate so very much. The rogue, his arms useless, his mouth dangling, his eyes crying the tears of blood, he ran towards me as I raised my blade, the tip ripping through his chest and heart as he stopped midway, and gave one last spat of blood in my hands, no longer moving.

Walking to the river, the armor fell off, leaving behind a weight that was unknown to me. I pulled the body out of my sword as I washed the blade in the rushing waters. My eyes scanning the entire area, I knew there was more to come; the first was just a group of mere tools that needed to be thrown away. Walking back to the spot, I sat down, my cobalt sword lay across my legs as I merged within the Gaea. Looking for the enemies, I found two groups that apparently found out the ones that were sent after me were annihilated without a doubt. Positioned fifty meters and deep in the foliage they lay hidden neither their masks nor their clothes showing no visible signs of where they came from. My eyes opened, I was surprised to see my armor already made and donned, and I guess the Gods want me to live today. Grasping my sword, I sat, waiting. Eternity seemed to pass by as I suddenly jolted awake, my body agile and flexible; I thrust the sword in the ground and used it to jump into the air. A second later, a water wave, tiny and narrow, headed quickly towards me but passed thanks to my eyes. The ground torn and ripped, showed that I was indeed lucky to dodge such an attack as I stood on my blade, lazuli lightning surging through the steel blade as jumped into the air, flipping first to pull the blade out. Thirty attackers danced out of the shadows of the trees as I landed on the ground, the distance between us five to seven meters. Our swords clashed, screams and blood spilled, none of which was mine, thanks to the Gods.

My enemies forever damned and doomed to lose, I battled amongst the killers, bringing them down. One by one they went, their swords having no effect on my thick, durable armor. Their shouting and screams in agony drained in my thoughts as I made them taste my visions; the visions of death. Pulling back, I leaped twenty meters backwards, as only ten stood before me. My earth armor fell apart as I held my form steady. The rogues, seeing this as a chance, raced across the ground as my chakra traveled to the deepest core of the earth. My body lean and quick rushed towards the ten warriors as I felt the armor building around me again. This time, my mind was showing me how the armor was building as first mud smoothed across my entire being. Pebbles, dirt, stones, and the various earth equipments latched onto my body. Lazuli blade bathing in what was now moonlight, I danced with the ten warriors; my stature now well built time and again. This time, from an outward appearance, it was stronger as my blade bust through the armor with the blue electricity as its coat. The sword continued on to the body, melting the flesh as the opponent loud scream nearly deafened me. Ah, still it mattered not for I moved onto the next one with the same deadly grace that was inherited from my people.

I was like a cat ready to leap and pounce at any moment while the armor was my shield; and the sword my iron fist. I knew that there were still many out there just waiting for the chance to kill me but surely the Gods have knocked some sense into them by now? Could they not see that they were fighting a war that they could not win?! Alas, such shinobis are but a mere tool, their brains like robot; told to do the job and will not stop until it is done or they are dead. I raised my cobalt sword to the high heavens triumph, as the thirty plus warriors lay scattered across the ground, the Gaea refusing to take them. I sigh, I look to the sky, ask the Gods why I must continue to fight this idiotic war as I bring down my sword, waiting for the others to come out of their hiding spots. I knew where they were, for my eyes do not lie and are far more superior to that of the ordinary. I laugh inside at the mere fact of their ignorance. Once more, I say, once more it is time to dance. This time, I came to them, like a wolf attacking a rabbit's hideout. Surprise slapped them in their faces as I took the advantage: my sword quickly swiping horizontally, one by one the heads rolling off their bodies.

Five of Six

Screams and more screams howled into the night, I, the hunter. My armor still active clung to my body like superglue as I raised my sword once more for the kill. This time, their surprise had faded and they were determined to kill me just as much as I was determined to win this war. But they will fail, ah, yes, they will fail; their swords meeting my impenetrate armor, failing as I stood and took no damage. Alas, my sword pierced through their hearts and their darkness forever doomed into the waters so deep that no wisdom can reach. I continued on, not caring about the mess I made behind, the scene seemingly chaotic to an observer, yet I ignored them too, just as I ignored the screams of these fools who lay at my feet--defeated. My armor seemed stronger and stronger the more I use it, and it probably came from the increasing knowledge of what to use of the earth properties to suit my protection. I thanked Mother Gaia as my body and sword became one and danced to the enemies, my azure sword buzzing alive with the blood of the defeated. I chopped off many heads, stabbed through the darkness that was in their hearts, and even slice up the parts of body to where they were not usable anymore. Those, of course, were seemingly zombies, not dead but not quite alive either.

It matter not, for my armor was my ultimate defense, in where no ordinary sword can pierce it, no non-elemental enhanced weapons could break through. Something of true brutal strength could shatter it but I would be left unharmed, using up all the protection to defend from it. From an outward appearance, one might see the advantage of using speed to conquer me, but they too will fail for the armor despite its durability, was extremely light to carry on your shoulders. I used to the strength to bash one enemy's head into the bark of the tree as blood slithered down with him. An attack from behind, an attack from above, an attack from the sides, and the front attack yet all were useless as my eyes saw through it all. Spinning around, an entire 360 degrees spin, my sword held firm, swiped through each one as moved in the appropriate direction necessary to kill these brattling fools. Brainless as they are, I could have stood there and relied on my armor but I didn't want to take the risk of overdoing it. Thus, I stood in the center, an entire army defeated. Oh but there will be more, oh yes, and I will be ready to uphold the victory once more. The Gods above blessing me as I continued to walk on this ground, I walked back to my training area and sat. My sword across my crossed-legged legs, I closed my eyes as my armor fell off, leaving behind an unknown weight time and again. Merging within the Gaea, I waited patiently for them to come, enjoying my night's victory.

Hours passed, the darkness leaving the skies--disgusted by the oncoming bright sun--they vanished to the deepest cores of the earth. My eyes awakened, I looked around as I slowly raised, my hand grasping the hilt of my cobalt sword, sheathing it. Quickly, I made a brisk walk around the greenery, the blood now washed away by the Mother. I created some earth materials as I was now proficient in doing so without any necessary thinking or extra work that I would normally have to put in. Chakra drenched my body as the materials began to cling to my body, reforming and reshaping my barrier. I stood there, letting the Gaea give me her best materials for the creation of the Gods to grant me protection so strong and long lasting. The process was now over and as I wore my armor that gleamed in the sunlight, I turned and faced the trees. It was time to be the hunter again, and as I raced forward and into the immense foliage, my moonlit optics turned white as the blood of my people coursed through my eyes now. My legs quickly gaining speed, I spotted five that were asleep in their holes, hoping that it will keep them hidden. My sword drawn, I proceeded and descended from above, my being lightly touching the ground as I leaped forward, the sword ending their nightmare as they will awake to a new horror. Heads rolling off the ground, I made the kill quick and silent and wasted no time moving on. Up in the trees I went, hunting the killers as I was now in advantage. I did not need any clones nor help from anyone else to hunt these miserable and disgusting creatures that lie in mud and sleep where worms crawl into their skin and the only foods they eat are the ones they can get their hands on even amongst themselves.

They have gone from their good selves, banished from the light now forever as they close their eyes to the darkness. My armor gleamed in the sunlight as it seemed to be the only thing that was shining in the light. Even at night it always seemed to shine, and it shined the most at night. I was the flame on the candle in the dark, a warrior of the light as I moved with quick, agile movements. Hung low in the trees, my sword in my hands, the enemies were near and awake--their hollowed screams indicating that they found their comrades. I was ready. I watched these brattling fools stomp on the ground, their faces rapidly growing with the heat of anger. I watched them destroy themselves as I waited until the confusion hits its climax. Taking out an explosive note, I slipped it on one of the heads that I chopped off and quickly rolled it out in the open. The attackers were not paying attention to my secretive destruction as the head blew up in a matter of seconds. Once the shouting began and the dust and the Mother's luck was in my favors, I leaped out like a tiger, slicing my way towards the people. My sword rang loudly with the sounds of death as my eyes saw everything. I slipped back into the woods, and watched the confusion begin to go to extreme measures. The attacker’s attacked among themselves as I didn't even need to use my armor for protection. Still, it clung to my body, and I left, going to find more and bring them down. They were going to suffer the same fate these fools are now going through.
