Jin's vision ranged about 100 meters. Even if any tridents came from beyond that range, weapons from over 100 meters away aren't very surprising. So when the trident's came, Jin had time to prepare. He recognized the exploding tags, because prepared exploding tags emit chakra signatures like warning beacons. He made a few handseals. Just dodging exploding tags was pointless. They would explode and he would die anyway. Jin had to make sure the tridents never reached him and the exploding tags were rendered useless.

Jin slammed his hand onto the ground as the tridents came. He expelled a gale force of cutting wind, all blowing away from him. The wind wasn't strong enough to cut down the cylinder of rock, so the wind was mostly contained to within the cylinder. However, it was strong enough to cut the exploding tags and to turn the tridents away from his body. With no tridents or tags hitting their mark, the catapults shouldn't fire. Was this the last of the challenge?

Effect: Creates a small domain a centralized area. This technique is used to cut, and push back opponents that are within the same sphere distance as the user in which is capable of performing the technique.
Special: Handseals slamming hand onto the ground.
Drawback: Effects allies caught within it as well.
Description: The user performs the handseals and them slams their right hand onto the ground. Immediately, a burst of wind extends outwards, forming a dome of violently spinning and twisting wind. This effect lasts until the user takes their hand off of the ground or one turn, whichever occurs first. This technique is capable of sending the opponent flying off into the distance of half of the user's capability of performing this technique. The technique's distance depends on the user's class level. When first learned the user is capable of performing this technique within the distance of ten meters. For each class level the user is higher then that of D class the distance increases by ten meters, as one who masters the art of the Wind Release adds in an extra ten meters.

I clapped my hands together with definition, no longer bearing the weight of the tridents or the spears, and then I placed both behind my back with fists closed. Jin would return to me soon enough and I would tell him the news, informing him that he had passed my tests, and that he was worthy of the Tessaiga; for now at least. Behind me did the forge roar with flame, the metal waiting to be shaped and molded, the cast laying idle for far too long. Chakra brimmed at my fingertips, tingled as if my tongue were placed upon the end of a battery, and my hands rejoiced now that they would finally do what they were made for once again. This foolish pride made my life difficult and my hands sad.

Old Man: “Well done, Jin. Come, I will give you room and board while we wait for the creation of your blade.”

Hands still resting behind my back, showing my powerful shoulder muscles, I made my way to my forge; having already pointed Jin in the direction of my home. All night would I bang the hammer, cool and heat the steel, stoke the flames and toil till perfection. No longer did I were an upper vestment, muscled body working vigorously, and as the sun peek above the horizon I would wipe the sweat from my brow. Within my hand did I hold Tessaiga, a blade of legend, although soon to merely be uncommon. My shoulders shrugged, and when Jin would emerge, I would hand him the blade and the parchment to make use of it.

Old Man: “Tessaiga, as promised. Do not let the blade fall into unworthy hands. Now be gone.”

Without waiting for words of thanks, merely a payment (If there is one), I would make my way back to my home. Rest would be needed after that long night of work.

After weeks of searching and days of life threatening tasks, the old man finally relented. Jin let out a sign of relief, and finally relaxed. He slowly walked back to the smith's home and took his well deserved rest. Or at least, he wanted to. When he sat down he found his foot moving restlessly and his fingers tapping against the floor until he was so anxious he had to stand again. Jin still had not heard anything more than rumours about the powers of this man's legendary blades.

So he waited. He waited for what seemed like an eternity, until the smith finally returned with the blade. So it was called Tessaiga. If the abilities of this sword were even half that of what he had heard, then the weapon was worth every cent he had to pay. Jin offered the vast amount of money to the smith without any hesitation or regret, and hastily grabbed the sword. It was finally in his hands.

"Thank you. I'll be grateful to you forever." Jin said sincerely to the old man's back as he walked away, and bowed low. He could finally return home, and discover the true abilities of this sword.
