A young boy with a hitai-ate around his neck entered a small clearing where there were a few trees here and there, as well as a couple of puddles next to a small pond. Around the small clearing were thick walls of trees and rocks, making it somewhat secluded and a good place to concentrate. The boy looked at the instructions he was given for practicing, learning, and performing a technique. These instructions were from his father who was a bit mad he had done nothing since graduating from the academy.
--Training Begins Now--
The Boy walked into a somewhat dry area, free of any mud. He began to perform the handsigns several times to get a feel for them. Once done, he then took in a deep breath and got ready to perform the technique. He made the handseals somewhat shakily but they were right and it didn't take him long. He soon slammed his hands to the ground as instructed and began to pour out chakra to change the ground into a puddle of mud. He began to lose focus and it resulted in a small inch of mud sitting rather out of place. He sighed and then scolded himself in his mind for getting distracted so easily.
He took in a deep breath and exhaled. He then made the correct hand signs and slammed the palm of his hands onto the ground. This time he concentrated on the technique. He could feel the earth squish up between his fingers and then raised up his hand to wipe the mud from it. He then checked his progress. The puddle wasn't too bad, but it was far from perfect. It was extremely shallow and it wasn't even half of ten meters. It barely went three meters when he guesstimated it.
After cleaning his hands of the mud, he resumed his training. He made the hand signs again and then with a much more dramatic motion than he needed, he slammed his hands onto the ground, dust came up from the ground causing him to lose focus and cough. Gritting his teeth frustration, he began to rub his eyes in hopes of getting the dust out of it. He remade the handseals, pounding his hands to the ground and closing his eyes and mouth while doing it. He began feeling the ground get softer beneath his hand and he tried timing it right so that it wouldn't drain too much chakra, but so that it would be closer to his goal. Looking up he saw that he had gotten a bit more progress but still not what he wanted. It was far too wide, and not long enough.
Looking up at the sky he began to wonder if he should keep the shape in his mind while applying the chakra. He sighed hoping it wouldn't get more complicated and decided it'd be best to just continue training. Making the handseals he placed his hands to the ground and began to envision a large round circle. Not an oval, but a circle. He began to lose track of it and was having a hard time thinking of it and while he was worrying too much about the shape he lost his concentration and he was no longer applying chakra. There was now a somewhat crooked circle of mud that was almost the maximum size but still he found it to be sloppy and poorly made.
Now knowing the fundamentals and what is required of the technique, the boy was now somewhat unhappy at the fact that he was having to do this D rank technique so many times just to master it. He then continued on, moving a few yards away from the muddy puddles he created before. He made handseals and placed his hands to the ground. With the shape of the mud puddle in his mind he then watched the ground turn soft and muddy. He felt his fingers squish and looked at his progress, now rather pleased with the results.
