Akumahi Ken [Demonic Flame Blade]
Rank: "D" "C" "B" "A" "S"
Skill: Ninjutsu
Effect: Allows the user to focus and run flames down their Ryūjin Jakka.
Special: A focusing of chakra that takes five seconds to complete. The amount of time it takes for the technique to activate is reduced by one second at each progressive rank. [Ex: "D" = 5 seconds, "B" = 3 seconds, "S" = 1 second.] This technique must be active
Drawback: Every rank of the Akumahi Ken requires the same rank of Heat Resilience. Drains chakra as the user is forced to replace flames used by swinging the sword or using the techniques of the weapon. The Akumahi Ken flames may be put out with a sufficient amount of water. Drains an "E" Rank amount of chakra per turn for every rank that the user has active (This means at "D" Rank, one "E" per turn. At "B" Rank, 3 E's or 1.5 D ranks per turn, and at "S" 5 E's, or 1.25 C's.]
Description: By focusing a large amount of chakra around the blade, the user will then create a raging inferno around the blade of the Ryūjin Jakka.
At "D" Rank, the flames are only minimal, a small outline of flame around the sword with possesses little heat, capable only of small burns, reminiscent of a tiny candle and is quite easily put out. The sword is only capable of using up to one "D" rank attack before extinguishing.
At "C" Rank, the flames have increased slightly, creating a larger outline of fire around the blade. The heat has also increased, and thus the amount of damage that the sword is capable of creating is dramatically increased. At will, the user may decrease the strength of the flame to a lower level, but it may not be returned to "C" Rank strength for one complete turn. The sword is only capable of using up to one "C" Rank before extinguishing, otherwise the flames will passively recover at a rate of one rank per turn.
At "B" Rank, the flames of the sword expand outwards, creating a fire that can reach outwards by as far as six inches. The heat also dramatically increases from that of the "C" Rank, making it far more powerful a weapon to strike with. Because of the extended flames, the sword seemingly becomes a larger sword, making it more capable of striking an opponent. At will, the user may decrease the strength of of the flame to a lower level, but it may not be returned to "B" Rank strength for one complete turn for every rank that it would travel through. The sword is only capable of using up to one "B" Rank before extinguishing, otherwise the flames are capable of rekindling at a rate of one rank per turn.
At "A" Rank, the flames radiate off the blade of the sword intensely. The heat from the flames is like that of a burning building, and the fires extend outwards as far as 1.5 feet. These flames can be focused upon, allowing them to contract down to as far as six inches, and then expand them again to the maximum size. At will, the user may decrease the strength of the flame to a lower level, but it may not be returned to "A" Rank strength for one complete turn for every rank that it would have to travel though. The sword is only capable of using up to one "A" rank before extinguishing, otherwise the blade is capable of rekindling at a rate of two ranks per turn.
At "S" Rank, the flames of the sword can become reminiscent of a small sun. Capable of reaching outwards for a total of five feet from the blade, the sword itself can be extremely dangerous to even the user, who is much more adept at resisting the heat than the average user. Usually, though, the flames exist around 3 feet from the user, but can be contracted and thus expanded upon at the user's whim. The heat from the fires can reach that of 'white fire', which is the hottest form of fire. Simply being around such hot flames is often dangerous to the opponent, and is capable of burning an opponent with the smallest of burns at even a range of five feet. At will, the user may decrease the strength of the flame to a lower level, but it may not be returned to "A" rank strength for one complete turn for every rank that it would have to travel though. At this rank, a small layer of chakra is required of the user to maintain so that their weapon does not melt. At this stage, the flames are so immense that they cannot be completely used up, meaning that only the way for the Akumahi Ken to fail is for the user to put it out or for it to be completed submerged in a grand amount of water.
Limit: Requires the Ryūjin Jakka.

Training D-rank
[ Flashback.]
Lovingly my hands caress the newly wrought blade, tenderly running my fingers across the deadly silvered edge. The Ryujin Jakka were considered a holy blade amongst those of the Airontoku, and it was no great honour to be bestowed with one. T’would appear as if the honoured brethren and Empath had taken notice of my considerable repute amongst the armed forces. Then again, it was still much of a surprise given my youthfulness. No matter, I would take the gift, a feigned thank you ‘pon my lips as inside I smiled at their sheer stupidity. One day, one day the entire corrupt hierarchy of Airon Neijiro would pay for their hubris.
But much hardship and time would have to pass before I could enact such retribution as was deserved. For now, I would settle for accumulating power, prestige and wealth until I could finally ascend to my lofty ambition. Beholding the blade once more I would sheath it quickly, drawing myself into a loose standing position. If I could master this blade, I could take my own considerable martial prowess to a new level. Ah how such heady thoughts flowed into my like wine, intoxicating the brain with visions of grandeur.
With a shake of my head I banished such thoughts, they would only slow the process of attuning myself to the blade. Turning sanquine optics onto the sword I began to gather chakra onto myself, acting as a conduit for the very forces of the gods. Oh yes, I was quite proficient in this skill, moreso than most of my ilk. With a mere thought I sent the lazuli coloured force into the blade, feeling myself connect to the very spirit of the blade. T’was written in the old legends that the Ryujin Jakka was possessed of a most keen and noble spirit and should you fail to prove your worth to the blade, it would consume you in a hell storm of fire. Of course I couldn’t believe such an old wives tale, yet I still steeled myself against such a fate, much to my trepidation.
A faint crimson outline began to form around the sheathed blade, faint flames flickering in and out of existence. Breath coming in slow, controlled bursts I kept feeding more and more chakra into the blade, willing the flame to grow within it. Yet, I could feel a resistance trimming the power I flowed into the blade, if you will. A most perplexing expression crossed my countenance. Why oh why would it resist? Then like a lightning bolt it hit me. The blade had no innate power to bestow upon me, nay, it was merely a conduit with which I could express my own powers in a new and most devastating fashion.
Oh-ho what a surprise this was! Sweat beading my brow I kept up with my work, noticing the flames grew more and more substantial around the blade. Yet, the flames were still weak and barely any warmth was given off. Hardly anything to make the blade impressive. Ah yes, I would have much more work to do before I could fully hope to master it and its intricate secrets. But, what fun was life if there was no challenge? Already I could feel a new exuberance rushing through my veins at the thought of the next time I would interact with the blade once more. Smiling at it lovingly I knew that someday, all of its secrets would be mine.
