For the first time in his life Nion went beyond the limits of the woods. It felt like he was being born again and seeing light for the first time. The landscape around him was astonishing. Hills slopped up and down the horizon. He guessed it was the truth when people say the grass is green on the other side, because this grass seemed like it was just painted. The only difference was the air. It wasn't pure. Erynion knew his clan only stuck to the deepest part of the woods because the world was slowly dieing. At least, that's what they told him, but he couldn't see how that was possible, the scene looked beautiful! Unfortunately the sun would soon be going down and the sky was orange. He would have to choose between traveling at night or setting up camp now. Nion wanted to cover as much ground as possible, he was eager to see the world.
The choice he made was to travel by night. It wasn't like he was alone and he was prepared for the worse. Him and Anariel could handle any bandits, they weren't just bark. The two of them strolled through the country side of Claw, but he stumbled upon the path that led to the city, Hikkaku. That would be his first stop, but he was given strict directions from the council. His first stop would be in the country hidden in the moon. Erynion was told he had to travel by boat to get their, but first he had to travel through the land of rice. Even though he had no idea where that was besides south.
Within an hour the sun had completely went away from view and he would now have to travel by moonlight. This wasn't as easy, not because he couldn't see, but because he was distracted by the stars. Back home they were only limited to seeing a little bit of stars, but out here the were endless. Something he thought was pretty cool. Nion always had a thing with nature and to him, stars were a part of the nature cycle. After walking south for a couple of hours, which he lost track of quickly, the landscape around him started to change. The amount of hills started to decline. Well that's what he thought anyway, but really they were just terraced so much that he couldn't tell.
Huge mountains outlined the distance. From were he was standing the mountains seemed to be an entrance to the heavens. Stunning was all he could describe it with. The hills around him were lined with fields covered with people growing what seemed like rice. That was a sign that he had arrived to spot he was looking for. Now all he had to do was find a boat.
