The Acting skill also confers a cumulative 5% bonus (per level above Unskilled) to Disguise skill check rolls. The list below gives examples of Mastery and what the character can do.
Unskilled Give a stereotyped performance.
Novice Pretend to be a person whose background is not too dissimilar from the character’s own.
Average Play a role convincing to an audience not overly familiar with the part he’s portraying.
Advanced By observing and interacting with a member of a class or profession, he can pass himself off as said.
Expert Can independently ‘invent’ a role such as a lord, member of a cult, wealthy merchant, etc., and can dress and act the part with such skill that he can pass as that person.
Master Can successfully imitate any person well enough to fool anyone not intimately familiar with the person (barring visual familiarity).
Each time learned user gets 1 die roll to increase the skill.

Back down stairs, I could hear the hurried movement of sets of feet from the upper level as I moved out of the way of the staircase. As soon as I had taken to the right side of the place and took a seat in some random corner, the seven men from upstairs, along with the harem that had been accompanying them, came down stairs with weapons drawn. So much for this place having high security. I bet that I didn't even have to leave my butt bag back with the guards outside. I kept my cool as the men moved through the area, searching; the women had all been screaming and exited the brothel as everyone turned to stare. Many had looks of shock or surprise on their face. Many others faces' had been buried deep within the bosom of an escort. I had trained my own face to keep its poise as I called a woman over towards me. I had to act the part to keep from appearing too suspicious as the men scoured the crowd, asking questions and looking for answers.
"Who went upstairs? Was it you? You?? Tell me--who went upstairs!!" The men moved quickly as to inspect every man. Some grabbed people by the collar and jerked them around, trying to intimidate them. Others used their tanto as means of threatening. Keeping my cool had not been a task that was difficult for me--my Dragon Master had instilled the notion to never fear into me and these men and their weapons had no effect on my overall disposition. I would have laughed at them all had I not been acting to keep collected in so chaotic a situation. One man had gotten punched for replying by drunkenly burping in one of the seven's face. The woman that I had motioned towards me was grinding in my lap now and I felt that I had played the total part of interested suitor. That's when one of them approached me. He had a scar on his face and appeared to be a mean one. His grip tightened on his blade's handle as the woman who was courting me squealed and ran away. I remained where I sat as words spilled from his mouth:
"Answer me, damnit." he had a fierce look in his eye, but I had seen fiercer from Wazaru. He grit his teeth. I was unfazed. "Who went upstairs?"
I did. But I didn't tell him that. I wanted to see just how well my acting skill had been so I played ignorant of the whole situation.
"I am just only entering into this place, how would I know? Look--you have scared away that woman.. I think you owe me some ryo." For me to be inherently gifted with the Fire element, my words had come off as extremely cool. Perhaps that was because I had been conditioned deep within the northern reaches of Shimo Kuni, but that was just a personal speculation. The man didn't seem to like my reply too much, as he quickly grabbed me by my black shirt and jerked his face in front of mine.
"Look here, kono yarou. Someone just killed our friend and we wanna know who did it!" His brown eyes locked into my own black ones. They were far too abysmal for him to peer into my soul and discover the real truth. Moving my head towards the right, I motioned towards the bar. "You should ask someone over there.. I thought I'd seen a guy walking down the stairs when I first came in." He let me go and moved hastily towards the counter. My words must have been more cooler than that sake he'd been drinking.
As soon as he began to question the patrons at the bar, I disappeared outside the door and hurriedly recovered my items from the guards. I had to move out of this town and pursue other efforts. I hadn't come back to Hi Kuni to play around in Otafuku-Gai. I returned to the inn that I had been stationed in and would leave the town in the morning.-- Exit
