Amarante entered the training fields alone again. It was early morning and she was fairly cold. Cursing herself for not dressing warmer, she decided that Taijutsu training would be the way to go as it would warm her up and moved to a small clearing in the trees.

Discarding all her unnecessary equipment and storing it where no one would find it, she decided that she would jog a kilometre as a warm up. After stretching herself out, she then proceeded to jog through the tree lines, making sure not to accidentally stumble into someone else’s training zone. That could have some… consequences. Unbeknownst to her though, on her way back to her spot (after jogging what she believed to be 500m) someone caught sight of her and slowly moved to intercept her.

When she returned to her training spot she stretched herself out once again and then moved over to her backpack of borrowed scrolls, she pulled out some Taijutsu training manuals and began to look over them. They were specifically for Muay Thai movements, it being her fighting style, and showed how to correctly perform techniques of lower class levels of the style.

Deciding to practice the Wanorn Hak Dan, an angled punch that relies on the movement of the elbow, Amarante began to put the remaining scrolls away. As she did how ever one of the scrolls she was holding dropped out of her hands and flipped open. This scroll held information on the Prakan Perd Lok, a technique which was practically an upper cut but held more power as the foot movement helped shift more weight into the punch. Quickly reading through it she then stowed it away and stood a few feet away from the trees she was surrounded by.

Taking up the Jod Muay stance Amarante began to pace backwards and forwards as well as side to side, mentally preparing her as well as fixing her into a trance. She then began to shadow box and swiftly fell into practicing the Wanorn Hak Dan. She repeated the movements the scroll had informed her again and again until she felt comfortable with it.

Beginning to get bored with shadow boxing, Amarante fell out of her stance and exhaled. ‘Now what can I do’ she thought to herself. Turning to a tree she decided it looked ‘soft’ enough to practice some punches on. Whether this was just boredom mixed with childish interpretation she didn’t know but still, she walked over to the tree and took up the Jod Muay. Imagining the tree as being a person, she decided the Wanorn Hak Dan punch would probably be a less painful type of punch, in comparison with a regular punch, so taking a breath she moved her hand and slammed the Transversal punch into the tree as hard as she could.

Upon contact, nothing happened for a moment. Amarante was just frozen in place, hand still connected with the tree. She then took in a deep breath and exhaled. Another few seconds of silence followed until… “AHH!” she screamed in pain. Holding her hand she began to curse under her breath. “Man that was stupid, punching the tree like that. God I can be so stupid sometimes.” She was cut out from her thoughts when she heard a loud growling.

Turning around quickly in the direction of the sound she jolted in shock. She stood face to face with a large brown bear. The bear stood up on it back legs and continued to growl at the girl. It had to be nine feet tall standing on it hind legs and the scar over its chest implied that it had been in its fair share of scrapes. Amarante stared at the large creature, still in shock of its sudden appearance but was quickly snapped out of her trance when the bear roared at her. “Come on are you even native to this area?” she shouted at the bear, still shocked. Amarante began to think of way of dealing with the creature.

‘Well I was in the middle of training…’ she thought to herself. Smirking at the thought Amarante took up the Jod Muay. “If things get to bad I’ll just use some lightning jutsu to distract it and run away. Until then though, let’s have some fun Mr. Bear!” Seeming to agree with her, the bear got down on all fours and charged at her. Standing her ground, Amarante did not move until the bear got in striking distance. Jumping to the right to avoid the beast, Amarante regained her footing and swung a random kick into the side of the bear to let it know were she was.

Annoyed with being kicked, the brown bear turned and stood on its hind legs again and swiped at her with its massive claw. Ducking under it Amarante decided that the bear was softer then the tree, sure of it this time, so swung the Wanorn Hak Dan at the bears ribs, striking it with all the strength she could muster. The bear however was just annoyed with her actions swung a back fist at her, slamming into her hard. After landing hard on the ground Amarante sprang up again as fast as she could. She was hurt but she definitely was not going to give up. So charging towards the bear, she performed the Wanorn Hak Dan at its ribs again before the bear could react and quickly back stepped out of the bears reach again.

Noticing that the bear took a bit more damage this time, she decided to smack its ribs again so when the bear swiped at her again she evaded and slammed her fist into the beasts’ ribs again before quickly jumping out its reach once again. The bear now was bending down, injured with the constant assault on its rib cage. Its head was low enough so that she could punch its face if she really wanted. Smirking she closed the distance between them once again. Stepping forward with her right foot, Amarante slammed her fist into the chin of the bear, delivering a powerful upper cut.

The bear crumpled under her assault and fell to the ground unconscious. “Must have gotten a lucky punch in” Amarante assumed, standing over the collapsed beast. “So how’d you get here anyway?” she asked, getting no response. She then recalled a clan that used animals as partners in battle. The Inuzuka clan, if she recalled, correctly used dogs so was there a clan that used bears as their partners? If so would they be mad that she knocked it out? Worried that that was the case Amarante decided that it would probably be better if she stayed to make sure it was okay, then she would decide if its wild or tame judging by its reaction.

Hoping to god it was tame; Amarante took a seat underneath a tree and began to wait for the bear to wake up.

(OOC: I mainly just used this chapter (?) as a way to introduce the bear. What happens with the bear I don’t know but it’s in Amarante’s history now so whatever.)

“Come on, wake up already!” Amarante loudly complained. She had been waiting for the bear to wake up for twenty minutes now and she was really beginning to get bored. So far she had passed the time with some push ups and sit ups but she really was getting bored of it. Sighing she continued to complete another set of sit ups but stopped short after thirty-three of them. “Gyah!” she squealed as she went over and picked up a small stick. She began to poke the bears face with said stick in an attempt to wake it up with no luck. “Come on, I didn’t kill you I know that much. I can still see you breathing!”

Deciding to continue with her shadow boxing as a ways to pass the time, she naturally fell into practicing the Prakan Perd Lok. She wasn’t sure why she began practicing it though, most probably because she had just read it, but she practiced the technique all the same. She repeated the movements indicated by the scroll again and again until she felt she had the timing of the punch matched with the footwork.

Happy with her progress, she turned to see bear again. No luck, it was still out cold and if anything appeared to be more out of it then before. Sighing she laid back down on the ground in front of the tree she was sitting beneath a few moments ago. Looking around the area, she decided to see if there was anything around her which she could use to help her train. “Let’s see, there’s a small broken branch to the left over there. A few feet of rusted old wire up in a tree to the right, which appears to have been used in a trap of some sort but isn’t a part of one now. An old rusted kunai over there that’s beyond repair. Hahn, really this is boring.”

Standing up, hesitantly, Amarante made her way over to the broken tree branch and brushed away all the dead leaves and broke it in some places so that she could use it. She then made her way over to the old rusted wire up in some tree branches and then over to the old rusted kunai. “Poor kunai, probably never even got to kill someone, such a waste.” Stabbing the kunai into the tree branch some what, Amarante proceeded to weave the wire through the hole on the adjacent end of the blade. She then found a low riding branch nearby and hooked it over, making a speedball or punching bag of some kind when she finished tying up the wire.

“Well it’s not perfect but its better then nothing” Amarante figured. She had something to punch now, something that was as hard as a tree but wouldn’t break her hand when she punched it. Instead it would push away, toughening her knuckles but not breaking them. She decided to practice the Prakan Perd Lok on the all natural speed ball while waiting for the bear to wake up, as a look out the corner of the eye told her it was still sleeping.

Taking up the Jod Muay, Amarante stepped her right foot forward and delivered an uppercut to the swinging branch, lightly at first to see how it would react to being punched. Luckily for her though, the rusted kunai held strong, telling her that she could add more power. “Alright now that I know that it can take the power of my punches. It’s time to see if my knuckles can do the same!” Getting some distance between herself and the branch again she stepped forth and delivered another uppercut, the kunai still holding strong. Her hand hurt a bit but not enough to deter her.

Pleased, Amarante practiced the punch a few times again, slightly being delayed in between punches while waiting for the branch to stop swinging. As she was about to deliver another punch though, a large shadow appeared over her. Turning around, Amarante stumbled in realisation that the bear had awoken. “Oh man I forgot about you for a second!” she managed to speak. Ducking under a swipe the bear had attempted to connect with her, Amarante’s body moved on its own.

She stepped forward with her right foot and gave the bear a powerful uppercut. The Prakan Perd Lok, connected in a big way and sent the bear crashing to the ground once again, unconscious. “Man you don’t have much of a chin do you big guy” Amarante poked the beast with her right index finger to see any signs of life. The bear started breathing a little while after being poked and Amarante sighed at this. Feeling as though she had forgotten something, she attempted to recall what it was. “Hmm… Ah! I was meant to see if you were tame or not and now I’ve gone and knocked you out again! God, this is just great!”

Amarante fell onto her back and looked up at the sky. “Come to think of it… How am I going to do that anyway?” she asked herself.

(OOC: Amarante hasn’t figured out yet that if the bear is attacking you, it probably isn’t tame. She’s twelve though, so don’t be to hard on her

While waiting for the bear to wake up, Amarante passed time while lying on her stomach, elbows on the ground, and hands under her chin, rasing her head, kicking her feet behind her. She had been doing this for three minutes now just staring at the bear, an inch away from its face. ‘It sure was in for a surprise if it woke up right now’ she mused.

Taking a better look at the bear in front of her now, she noticed that it was injured. It had a broken jaw by the looks of it. “I didn’t do that did I?” she asked aloud, receiving no answer. She hadn’t done it actually, granted she had probably made it worse but no it wasn’t her who had broken it. “Sorry Mr. Bear, I didn’t know you were hurt like that. I won’t use Taijutsu on you again, promise” she apologised.

But if I’m not going to be using Taijutsu, what should I be using? Walking over to the backpack she had brought along with her, she began to flip through the scrolls she had brought with her. ‘Now I really need a ‘killer’ move’ she told herself coming across a jutsu labelled ‘Water style: Death by drowning’… “Well if that’s not a sign, I don’t know what is!” Amarante proclaimed, pulling out the jutsu.

Whilst looking over the hand seals required in performing the technique, Amarante read the techniques description. ‘The user creates a stream of water, approximately two inches thick, which moves forward at a slow rate, attempting to feed itself into the opponents mouth, where it will fill their lungs in an attempt to drown the opponent…’ Wow, what a terrible way to die, drowning outside of water. That sucks the big one, was the only thing that came to Amarante’s mind upon reading.

“Well, better get a move on with learning this one. That bear could wake up at any moment now” she reminded herself of her furry companion. Putting the scroll back into her bag, she proceeded to pull out a bottle of water. “I was planing on drinking this… But if it’s to help my training I guess I have no choice.” Sighing, Amarante proceeded to undo the bottles lid and, crying on the inside, poured it onto the ground a few feet away from the unconscious bear, stopping when she only had about a quarter of water left in the bottle (she needed some for the death by drowning jutsu after all).

“I’m gonna need a clones help with this one so with that in mind…” Amarante quickly flipped through some hand signs, and the puddle on the ground which she had just made, performed a water clone jutsu. “Now stand there while I drown you, okay?” the clone freak out at her words. “You’re going to what?” it exclaimed. “Oh shut up, you’re made out of water! You’ll be fine!” Amarante scolded, placing her quarter full water bottle on the ground and forming the required hand signs, to the clones’ distress.

“Water style: Death by Drowning?” Amarante shouted, pouring her chakra into the water in her bottle. Nothing happened however and the water in the bottle didn’t as much as ripple. “What, nothing? Am I supposed to pour it onto the ground first?” she wondered, proceeding to empty the water bottle again. Once again performing the hand signs, Amarante once again shouted. “Water style: death by drowning!” and once again nothing happened. “Come on is it even moving a little?!” she exclaimed.

“Man you really suck at this, you know that!” her clone criticized. “Lucky for me, yeah?” it continued to jeer. “I’ll show me!” the real Amarante proclaimed, flipping through the hand signs again. “Water style: Death by drowning.” The result of her efforts this time was for her small puddle to move an inch over towards the clone before stopping its movement. “Grrrr…” Amarante growled, her clone beginning to make faces at her.

Making the hand signs again, Amarante put a lot more effort into her jutsu. The jutsu in turn began to make it’s way over towards the clone at a snails pace (literally). It was incredibly slow but it was moving over towards it, which was good. “You know what; I’m going to take a nap. Wake me up when you’ve managed to actually make it move loser” Amarante’s clone mocked, lying down on the ground.

“Hehe, now I’ve got you… Me…” Amarante evilly giggled. “Water style: Death by drowning” she whispered, the jutsu moving a little faster now. “Yes that it my little jutsu, drown me. Drown me” she manically told the slow moving puddle of water. The puddle stopped however and began to move backwards at her words. “No, no! That me! The me over there!” she whisper screamed at the water while dispelling the jutsu. “Well that was stupid. Let’s try it again.”

After speaking, Amarante went through her hand signs once more and the blob of water began moving again, faster this time but still slow (she imagined this would be as fast it she could get it). The water blob slowly trickled it way over toward the clone and fed itself into its mouth, beginning to move its way into the lungs. The clone began to gag as it slowly drowned, “Yeah clone, you sure it was a good idea to sleep now huh?” she asked it as it melted into water.

“Right so now I can drown people. I’m so bad ass” Amarante praised herself taking a look over to the bear who was still passed out. “HN, I’m going to have to wait a long time for you to wake up aren’t I Mr. Bear”

(OOC: This bear does not want to wake up doesn’t it lol. Well in next training update, Mr. Bears owner will be revealed. I, for one, have grown attached to Mr. Bear and it’s going to be sad to see him go but it is what it is.)

An hour later the bear was still unconscious on the ground. “Man I know I was mean to ya but come on Mr. Bear, Can’t you please wake up?” she asked, receiving silence as an answer. Sighing, Amarante looked over to her drink bottle. After drowning her clone with the death by drowning jutsu she used her water jutsu to get the water back into the bottle although she wasn’t going to drink it anymore. “What can I do to pass the time?” she wondered. “Well practicing jutsu been mildly entertaining so far.” Moving back over to her back pack she pulled out a random scroll. “Water style: Liquid Grip Technique… Sounds interesting at least.”

Unknowingly behind her though, a large male shinobi accidentally stumbled across her training grounds. Quickly realising this though, the male quickly ducked behind a tree. ‘Hmm I didn’t think anyone would be out here’ he thought to himself. ‘Oh well I’ll just move to another sp- Is that a god damn Bear?’ the shinobi caught eye of Amarante’s furry unconscious companion and accidentally stepped on a twig. ‘That’s not just any bear… That’s his bear… Well this may just be worth sticking around for. He’ll come looking for it soon.’ The large shinobi began laughing to himself. ‘So this is where he’s been hiding it every time we go around his place to carry out the animal abuse cases.’ The shinobi got comfortable and began to wait for a third party to show up.

Amarante snapped around. She swore she had heard something but nothing was there. “If anyone’s there come out!” receiving no answer, she dismissed it as paranoia. “Probably just Mr. Bear beginning to stir. So that means I have to get this water grip jutsu thing learned ASAP.” Forming the hand signs, and pouring the water out of her drink bottle and onto the ground, Amarante called out the name of the jutsu. “Water style: Liquid Grip technique.” Upon her words, chakra began to pour out of her body and into the water on the ground. A small amount of water from the puddle began to seep towards her and wrap itself around her arms. “Well that’s a start” Amarante commented. “But I’m going to need more water then this to wrap around my arms if I want to perform the jutsu properly.

Moving her arms over the puddle of water, Amarante let the jutsu dispel and she tried the jutsu again. Performing the hand signs, Amarante once again called out the jutsu. “Water Style: Liquid Grip Technique” she called, pouring more chakra into the jutsu this time; Amarante was able to pick up most of the water this time. “Alright well that’s part one of the jutsu down. Now for part two” she announced to herself, facing a tree. Amarante then pushed her hands forward in an attempt to wrap up the tree. It didn’t work however.

By accident, Amarante managed to accidentally tie herself up with her own jutsu. “Ah!” she screamed as she accidentally fell down. “Oww, Oww, and Oww” she complained. “Well let’s try that again now. So glad no one was around to see that.” As if to answer her question however, Mr. bear made the fact that he had woken up known and began to snarl. “Uh oh, you’re awake again are you? Well I’ve been meaning to ask you a question anyways so I guess it’s okay for you to be awake.” The bear however appeared to not be listening to her and swung its brown paw at her in an attempt to cut her throat. “I’m not going to get a chance to ask am I?”

‘Not unless I find a way to get him to stand still that is’ she mused to herself as she jumped back to dodge the blow. That’s when something hit her. ‘Oh yeah, that’ll work’ she sanctioned. Performing some hand signs Amarante called out the name of a jutsu. “Water style: Liquid grip Technique” she called out, the water around her rushing towards her arms. Once the water was wrapped around her arms nice and tight, Amarante identified the bear. “Now take a rest will ya!” she cried, stretching strings of water from around her arms in an attempt to wrap up the bear. “Damn!” she exclaimed in the end though. There wasn’t enough water present to wrap up the large bear and it easily managed to shake off the strings.

“Great now what am I supposed to do huh?” she asked no one in particular. “I can’t knock you out again ‘cause then I’ll never know if you’ve got an owner or not!” she exclaimed, not expecting anyone to answer her. Someone did though.

“Actually he does have an owner” spoke a slimy voice, causing Amarante to look over to the left to the person responsible for speaking. Out from behind a tree a slender man appeared. He was wearing the stereotypical shinobi outfit for the leaf village (Chuunin flack jacket, long blue pants etc.), had light green hair, hazel eyes and some stubble upon his face. The man continued to speak once he was visible to Amarante. “That’s my bear Vincent you’re fighting there and I must say, it really speaks to his character that he’s getting beaten by a little girl. What a pathetic creature” he scolded, the bear cowering at the man sudden appearance.

Amarante found that she had to defend the creature that, despite trying to rip her throat out a moment ago, was beginning to whimper while hiding behind her. “Don’t assume that he’s weak just because I managed to take him down. He has a broken jaw that I managed to exploit. It’s the only reason I was able to knock him out” she informed him.

The man was less then impressed though. “I know he had a broken jaw you little brat. I was the one who gave it to him” he countered, giving Amarante the evil eye. “Now Vincent, come. Let’s go!” The bear did not listen to his command however and remained behind Amarante. “I said come on!” the bear still did not move. “Fine then. If you won’t come over here, I’ll come over there!” he exclaimed charging for the beast.

Amarante tensed. ‘Come on Amarante, get it together. Make a choice now and stick with it’ she told herself and by the second the man got close enough, to her, she had made up her mind. “Water style: Liquid Grip Technique” she shouted, wrapping up the surprised man in front of her, binding his arms to his sides. “You’re not getting anywhere near Mr. Bear you creep.”

The man grunted. “He’s my bear!” he roared. “If you take him from me you’re stealing!”

“And if I let you take him, I’m subjecting him to abuse” she yelled.

The man smirked at this. “Well if that’s how you feel, I guess I’m just going to have to kill you then” he posed, shocking Amarante. “You obviously didn’t think this one through did you huh girl? I mean what’s going to happen now? You can’t let me go because I’ll attack you and you can’t keep me tied up like this forever. So you’re really screwed huh?”

He was right, the guy was wearing a chuunin’s vest and she was only a Genin. He would probably be able to live up to his promise if given the chance. What was she going to do? “May I interject?” asked a rugged voice behind her. Turning around Amarante was faced with a large man, wearing a Jonin jacket. ‘My knight in shining armour?’ she wondered. She really wouldn’t mind if he was. The guy had to be about six foot two inches tall and was built of solid muscle, in comparison to the man in front of her who was only about five seven and was skin and bone.

The man behind her light up a cigarette, took a deep breath of the smoke and then introduced himself. “Hi my name is Kaemon” he informed them, smoke coming out of his mouth as he spoke. “And that man in front of you is called Seito. We’ve been hounding him for animal abuse for months now and now we’ve found Vincent here, we finally have the proof to convict him and put him behind bars and it’s all thanks to you girl” he informed her while removing a ring of wire from his pouch.

“His name is Mr Bear” Amarante informed Kaemon, who looked over in surprise. “I’m not okay with this jerk naming this bear, so I’ve named him” she corroborated, easing his confusion. Mr. Bear seemed to agree with this as well and licked her face in thanks. ‘Ew.’

“Right, right well once I’ve tied this guy up, you can let go of that water jutsu okay?” he notified her. Amarante nodding in acknowledgement. Kaemon proceeded to tie Seito up, to the mans anguish and soon Amarante eased up on her jutsu. “Well now, I’m out of here” Kaemon spoke up. “We’ll be in touch to get a report from you about this incident, okay?”

“Umm okay” she confirmed but then looked over at the bear. “But what am I supposed to do with him?” she enquired.

Kaemon shrugged, “I dunno, you named him, you deal with it” he stressed, disappearing in a cloud of smoke.

“Damn him!” she exclaimed when the smoke cleared to reveal him gone. And once again looking over to the bear she sighed. “Well what am I going to do with you?” she asked herself, the bear licking her face again. “Well you’ve been through enough, you wanna go back out into the wild big guy?” the bear nodded in enjoyment… She thought… And so she picked her stuff up and went to the village gates. “Well there it is, your freedom…” she informed the bear. “… Well go on get out of here.” The bear (Mr. Bear), looked at her confused. “Wild… Go… Bye bye… Mr Bear…” The bear had apparently gotten her drift and proceed to leave the village, disappearing into the foliage. “Well he’s not my problem anymore. Maybe will be if he mauls anyone but then I can just put the blame onto that Kaemon guy.

Happy that she had done a good deed, Amarante went home.

(OOC: Couldn’t figure out any other way to get rid of the bear. Introduced it in the first place so as to introduce Amarante’s affection towards them later on. Whoa, that was probably my biggest post for a jutsu and yet the actual learning of the jutsu took a back seat. Meh, needed to get rid of Mr. Bear. Starting a new set of training now)

Amarante entered the training grounds once again by the river. She had been reading the scrolls she ‘borrowed’ from the Kusagakure library and had come across one that was very interesting. It was the Kirigakure no jutsu or hidden mist skill.

Confident in her abilities, Amarante walked over the water of the river/lake, using the walking on water technique, and formed the hand seal required, attempting to create the mist. She waited patiently for ages but still nothing. Recreating the hand seal she tried again but still nothing happened.

Annoyed, Amarante went back to the shore, opened her back pack with the scroll of the Kirigakure no jutsu inside, removed the scroll and then read it over. “A skill which creates a very dense fog, blah blah blah, The mist can not be blown away, blah. Ah here we go. A Skill where a user uses the water around them to create a massive mist to fill around the user” she said aloud to no one in particular.

Continuing to look over the scroll, she looked at the picture that accompanied the text that displayed how one is supposed to complete the jutsu. Finding nothing wrong with what she had been doing she decided to try again.

Taking her place out on the water again she tried once again. Forming the hand signs, she tried too make the water rise up and form a mist. Again nothing happened and after a few minutes she tried reforming the hand sign, with no success in doing so.

Agitated, Amarante stormed back over to the scroll reading through it once again, she grunted in frustration. She was doing nothing wrong at this point; it was just how she manipulated her chakra she was messing up with. Her hand signs and everything were okay so that was good.

Taking her place back out on the water Amarante once again attempted the jutsu. Forming the hand signs and remaining still whilst trying to create the fog Amarante still had no success. “What could be screwing me up?” she wondered aloud. Maybe it was the fact she was using the walk on water skill at the same time she rationalised.

Walking over to the shore line, Amarante tried the jutsu one last time before she would give up on learning the technique. Forming the hand signs, Amarante closed her eyes and attempted the jutsu.

She waited a little while before opening her eyes and inwardly vowed that if there was no fog when she opened them, she would give up on the technique. Slowly she opened her eye and when she did, she was happy.

There was the tiniest amount of mist built up around her. It was barely noticeable but noticeable all the same. Her spirits renewed, she began to think of another way to learn the jutsu.

Racking her brain for a few minutes, Amarante decided that using the water clone jutsu was probably a good way to go as it would divide her chakra and help her focus it. Forming the hand signs required Amarante produced five clones to help her in her attempt to learn the technique.

The clones, along with her, lined up on the shore line and each one attempted the jutsu, forming the hand signs. After a little while of each individual trying to form a mist, Amarante noticed that the air around them was becoming dense and slowly began to haze a slight shade of white.

“Hehe alright this is getting going!” she exclaimed in delight as the clones each held happy expressions of their own. The haze though wasn’t as deep as she would like it to be with the effort she had put into it so far. In her opinion it should have only taken her half the time to create the fog she had already judging by the amount of time she had already exhausted and even less then that to be able to perform the jutsu correctly.

Thinking of what to do next, she got an idea of how to proceed with the training. Asking one of her clones to stop with its efforts to create the fog, Amarante waited for the mist to clear and then had all her clones apart from one help her in creating the fog.

This turned out well as the clones (minus one) was able to create a mist just as deep as the last one in the same amount of time. Asking another one to step out, she tried again, and again, and again. Until she alone was able to create a fog as deep as the first on her own by herself.

Next up it was time to cut the time in half once again and then she asked each of the clones to come back to the shore line to try once again. Each one took their position at the shore line and, after waiting for the previous mist to clear, each tried to create another mist.

The success was that Amarante and the clones were able to create a mist even deeper then the last in less then half the time. Happy, Amarante asked one to step out and while waiting for the mist to clear. She then copied the same line of she had a moment ago and kept asking for a clone to step out each time they prepared to try again until Amarante herself was able to create a fairly deep fog on her own without the clones aid.

Proud with the amount of progress she had made, Amarante decided to have a quick nap before continuing her training and asked her clones to dispel themselves in the water.

Waking from her nap, which seemed as though it had been hours, Amarante once again decided to train the hidden mist technique.

Taking her place against the shore line, Amarante formed the hand signs and built up her chakra, pluming it out of her body and into the surrounding area creating a deep but not un-see-through-able mist.

Happy with her progress, she decided to take it to the next level and strode out atop the water, using the walk on water technique. Her plan was to learn use as much chakra as she could until she was able to create the mist while simultaneously exerting chakra from her feet.

Forming the hand signs, Amarante began to form a mist around her. It was a lot more tiring then it was just standing on the ground and she suspected it was because she wasn’t used to performing the techniques at the same time yet.

Letting the mist die down, she tried again and formed a mist around her a lot easier this time by trying a slightly different method while building up her chakra. Apparently using less means gaining more as she used less chakra but managed to create the mist easier.

“Okay now it’s time to really get this jutsu down” Amarante said aloud to herself as the shroud around her faded away. The mist around her wasn’t deep enough for it to be used effectively in combat so now all she had to do was make it thicker.

Focusing all her attention now on the task at hand, Amarante formed the hand signs and closed her eyes. Releasing her chakra from her body and performing the jutsu, Amarante’s stomach churned in anxiety. ‘What ifs’ plagued her mind. What if she couldn’t do it? What if she reached her limit with this jutsu?

Opening her eyes for a moment, Amarante had to shield them away for a second. Every thing around her was white and she could hardly see a foot in front of her face. Nervously she looked around and then delight set in.

“Yes!” she shouted to the air. She had performed the jutsu to a level where it could be effectively used in a combat situation… If one had the right tools to do so… Things got a little complicated at this point.

Sure she had used the jutsu but now how was she going to move around within it and feel comfortable knowing that she wasn’t going to run into anything or more importantly… Amarante looked around in all direction. “How am I going to get out of here?”

It was early morning when Amarante entered the training grounds. The day before she had taught herself the hidden mist jutsu and now she had to teach herself a way to navigate through said mist without getting killed or without accidentally bumping into things.

The answer to her not knowing where she was going problem was hinted to (if not completely obvious) in the scroll she had learnt the technique from.

Yep right up in there. Now the only thing she had to do was actually learn how to manipulate sound to her liking and to do that she had borrowed some books from the Konoha library. Yes she actually borrowed them this time and had every intention to take them back unlike when she borrowed them from Kusa.

Setting her backpack down and removing a scroll she began to read up on the sound release. “Okay it looks as though there are two elements for the basic of sound release” she read aloud. “First up, increasing the volume and then second is decreasing the volume. Sounds easy enough.”

It was true it did sound easy but it probably wasn’t going to be. First up though was increasing the volume of the sound but what was she going to increase? She could sing but that’d be embarrassing if someone came around and heard her, so what.

Clapping came to mind. She could clap, that wouldn’t be embarrassing if someone came around. Deciding that clapping was the way to go she clapped her hands to get a base volume of what it would sound like if she didn’t try to increase volume.

Happy that she could guess what it was, she focused as much chakra as she could to increase the volume of her clap. ‘Clap’ the sounds rang out. It was deafening and caused Amarante to hold her ears in pain. “Ah! That was a dumb idea!” she screamed although she couldn’t hear herself.

After a while when she could hear herself and her surroundings again, Amarante decided it was probably best if she tried little by little to increase the volume instead of just randomly using a large amount of chakra like that again. ‘Clap’ she clapped her hands. If their was any effect in the volume at this point, Amarante couldn’t hear it so she tried again.
‘Clap, clap, clap, clap’ every time she clapped her hands it was a little louder then the last. ‘Clap, CLap, CLAp, CLAP, CLAP!’ That last one was were it was at. It was nice and like just like she wanted.

‘CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!’ she repeated the loud noise until she was happy she was capable of using sound to increase the volume like she wanted. Next Up was trying to decrease the volume.

Opening up the scroll for a quick review before trying to decrease the volume on her own like she did with the volume increase, Amarante looked over the instructions very carefully.

She did not want a repeat of the deafening sound of the clap the first time she tried the technique. Happy she read enough she placed the scroll back into the backpack she carried and then took a couple of steps away and prepared herself to manipulate the sound of her clap. ‘Clap’ the sound rang out like any other clap.

Amarante’s face became puzzled. She really though that it’d be easier to manipulate the sound considering she had already gotten the hang of using chakra to increase the volume of her clap but then again it was the exact opposite of what she was doing.

Then a thought hit her. ‘It was the exact opposite of what she was doing!’ All she had to do was build up her chakra in the opposite way in which she built it up to increase the volume and then theoretically she’d be able to decrease the volume.

Smiling Amarante built up as much chakra as she could but in the exact opposite way. She didn’t have to worry about the sound being to quiet so this kind of recklessness was fine. ‘CLAP!’ the sound rang out once again, deafening!

“Ah! Damn it!” Amarante wailed, once again unable to hear her own voice. ‘What went wrong?’ she wondered. Apparently recklessness was always rewarded with ‘pain!’

Holding her ears as she once again became able to hear (thank god), Amarante decided to play it safe and take the learning of the jutsu slow. Clapping her hands once again to get a base point of the volume, Amarante proceeded to channel chakra into her hands and clap. ‘Clap’ nothing changed.

‘Clap, clap, clap, Clap’ No that last one was louder. ‘Clap, clap, Clap, clap, c lap, c l ap, c l ap, c l a p’

“Yes that’s it!” Amarante exclaimed. ‘c l a p, c l a p, c l a p.’ She repeated the motion a few more times, ensuring that she had it down compact. Happy she had gotten a handle of what to do, Amarante looked over the scroll to find out the next stage of her training.

‘Chirp, chirp, chirp’ the sound of birds rang out through the air. “God I’m all for nature and everything but could those birds be more annoying?” Amarante grunted, annoyed.

She was looking over the scroll to find out her next stage of training when the birds around her decided to get noisier. As the birds proceeded to get louder and louder, Amarante shouted at them. “Gr come on! Didn’t I scare you off when I screwed up the jutsu before?!”

Reading the next part of the text, Amarante was informed that next she would have to learn how to manipulate the volume of the thing surrounding her to advance in the jutsu. “Perfect timing” she would remark, turning to face the trees of the birds.

She had no intention of increasing the volume of these noisy pests but lowering it would be very beneficial so taking a seat on the ground and crossing her legs, Amarante formed a tiger seal and tried to flow her chakra through the air and towards the birds.

After a little while, Amarante decided that she had exerted enough chakra and tried to alter the sound waves to make the birds quieter. She tried over and over again but nothing came of her efforts and soon she was getting bored and annoyed.

Releasing the tiger seal from her hands and setting them upon her knees in a meditative state, Amarante tried to focus her attention and change the birds’ volume level. ‘Chirp, chirp, c hirp, chirp, chrip c hirp.’ Amarante began to have some minor success but still not enough so she took a small breather before trying again.

After about five minutes, Amarante took the meditative position again and once again expelled the chakra from her body. ‘Chirp, chirp, c hirp, chrip, c hirp, c h irp, c h irp, c h i r p, c h i rp, c h i r p, c h i r p.’ Amarante smirked. It was getting good, she could hardly even hear the birds anymore,

“Such a relief” she sighed, dropping the jutsu so the birds could sound off again. Scowling Amarante complained to herself. “What so it gets loud again when I stop the jutsu? It isn’t permanent? Pffft screw this I’m going home to bed!” And with that said she left the training field and went home.

(OOC: Probably did that wrong but I couldn’t think of a way to extend this any further and I sort of just prolonged the birds chirping for some filler.)

On her way home, Amarante was troubled. She was concerned that she had let the birds noise get in the way of her training hindering her ability with the jutsu she was attempting. It would be wrong to just go around, thinking that she knew the jutsu when she really didn't so she had to really practice it to make it right but what would the next step be she wondered?

Generally, she supposed that she had the basics down but it was really just a matter of perfecting them with practice. "Time for an overhual!" she exclaimed, drawing eyes to her as she walked down the public streets. First up was increasing the volume of sound via (in this case) clapping.

Clapping her hands together twice Amarante in jected her chakra into the technique on the second leaving the first one for a base sound level. "clap, CLAP!" success. Next was decreasing the voume. "Clap, c l a p" success again! Third anf finally, increasing and decreasing the volume of other things.

Seeing a pair of men conversing on the side walk in which she was walking, she decided to use this as an opertunity to cause some mischeif. First up, she made it so that when one of the men tried to talk, it would sound really quiet. Focusing her chakra, Amarante made her little scheme a reality.

The mans voice became really quiet, confusing him and when his friend tried to ask him what was up, his voice was really loud. Amarante had to stiffle a laugh as she passed by them. She didn't want to blow her cover right at that moment so she waited until she rounded a coner before letting out a small giggle. It wasn't exactly the funniest thing in the world but it was worth a few laughs.

What else should she do now? she wondered. It was mainly just practice, practice, pratice etcetera. It was all she could really do so that was what she was going to do. Focusing her chakra once more she clapped her hands. She was going for changing through on the fly, from loud to quiet, quiet to loud, nothing special.

"Clap, CLAP!, c l a p, CLAP!, c l a p" Not much to it. Amarante smiled at her progress. Things were really coming along but she wasn't finished yet. Still a few more meters before reaching home. "Clap, CLAP!, c l a p, CLAP!, c l a p" simple yet effective, how things should be.

Calling it quits for a while at least, Amarante headed indoors. There was a shower and bed with her name on it.
