Description: With this technique the user is able to fight against opponents within a ten meter radius without the worry or fear of fumbling with their bow or crossbow. They gain the courage and ability to perform combat without much effort. This is a prerequisite technique for more popular techniques. What good is an archer if they are not ready to battle while in close range.

Demandred smiled at the beautiful day it was wide open and he loved every second of it. Perfect weather for him to practice with the bow he had so long ago put off. He had some thinking that he wanted to get done, but he didn't know how to get it done, it was the strangest feeling. Like knowing how to write but having writers block, the only way he could think of it. The morning was cold, just as all mornings were here, and they really were cold, but today the sun was out and had a nice warmth to it. Demandred had been adapting well in the cold, he sat with his basic tunic and hat, no mask up, the wind was down today so it wasn't too bad. Demandred unslung his bow from his back, and pulled it together, his arrows and quiver on his right shoulder as usual.

Today was close up and personal practice. This would allow him to fire his bow within ten meters, for an archer, he hoped that he would never have to get in close with these kind of skills. It was true that up close fighting was a good fight, but for an archer that he wanted to be, to let him get that close was a disgrace he would have to say, but the skill was not something that he would shy away from. Demandred had set up many dummies within his training area, the old man he had known was a merchant of many tastes and he let him take some of his merchandise on a loan, it pays to be nice sometimes. The dummies were all at ten meters or less, and he had the cart owner set them up as he was blind folded.

“Are you ready lad?” the old man yelled at him from afar.

Demandred smiled, “I can tell you took cover then old man?” he held back his laughter.

“Aye I did, I can't have you be putting an arrow in my stomach now can I?” he answered in a laugh, “How would I eat?” Demandred rolled his eyes behind his blind fold. That old fart thought more about food than anything else, a nice hot meal is all he wanted while he traveled, and a warm bed of course. Demandred breathed in slowly, Empty the mind and let instinct guide you he thought to himself. You are the bow, and the arrow, you are one he told himself in his head. Without a second more, Demandred pulled off his blind fold, as soon as he did he was confronted with a dummy with a painted on face like a tiki doll.

Demandred leapt backwards, drawing his arrow and knocking as he fell. He held his breath and closed one eye, he fired just as he hit the ground, The arrow flew true and struck the dummy in the chest, rolling backwards instantly still on the move, tying his movements together so they could be one fluid motion. Another dummy stood beside the other one.

“Really old man? Two?” he said aloud, this one was now about four meters away, gaining his footing once again he loosed an arrow and fired instantly he turned on the balls of his heels and fired another as he caught another dummy at the corner of his eye. Seven meters, six meters......as he turned to fire another arrow a bag filled with sand flew by his head. “What the fuck!” he yelled, that thing could have broke his nose! The old man sat in a tree now, cutting little ropes to tree and hit with with the bags of sand. How did a seventy year old man, climb a tree, and set that up? Demandred had no time to think as another bag of sand swung for him, he dodged quickly and turned to fire at another dummy. Holding his breath with every shot as he placed four more arrows around him, while watching for these twenty pound bags of sand, that the old man didn't mention. Demandred dropped to the ground in a heap, rolling to the side as he knocked another arrow and loosed the arrow, feeling it fly through his fingers as he struck the last dummy in the throat. Demandred dropped his head to the ground and started to rest, “Old man, lets take a break” he yelled randomly.

“Tired already?” he answered, “When I was your age I could go on forever” he continued on. Demandred stayed there as he caught his breath.

“You weren't the one going through your new 'additions'” Demandred said breahtlessly.
