The morning is still young and the sun has not yet risen. Darkness still hovers over the buildings of Mo Village. The shadows however, are beginning to disappear and stop their control of the night. The brush that sits down upon the nightstand longs to be picked up and the blond strands of my hair stand up on end as I sit up from another restless night. The room is filled with shadows; shapes darkened the walls and chased what light the setting moon casted. Despite the timing, the shadows still continue to fight. Speaking of time, the clock reads 05:18 am in a bright green light, three meters across the room. Sleep has completely left me and will not return until night returns.
I slip out of bed before wrapping the blanket around my shoulders. I am not cold, nor am I warm; the bathroom is seven strides away. The comb still remains sitting on the nightstand when I return from my shower. The blond strands of my hair are much worse than before, so I am forced to head over to the stand. So what will it be? More Doton no jutsu? Or will it be of a more combative type for today? The lust for combat is always overcoming my thoughts about training, yet why do I always decide to approach Doton? Could it be my lust for protection? That small amount of emotion still lingers within my mind. Protection... A thud echos around the room as the comb falls from the nightstand. And a startled cry comes from down the hall. Next, I hear the pounding of feet as someone runs down the hall.
“Did you hear that?!” The maid pants upon entry. I lower myself to the floor before picking up the brush. The maid scurries over toward me, dropping down to her knees in hope of gathering the brush before my fingers reach it. However, she is unsuccessful. “Pardon me, miss.” She stammers before both of us raise in unison. I wave her apology off with a gesture of my hand. “You can go back to sleep.” I say evenly, shooting the Maid a stern look. I am of no need of her services right now, besides she appears to look as if she had just gotten sleep at the time the brush slid off the stand. The woman hesitates before nodding.
Outside is much cooler than in the room. The shadows are still lingering around larger objects and a few buildings. Twilight covers the horizon, thus giving off a beautiful look to the remaining stars that litter the sky. They will disappear within the next half hour. I quickly choose my training spot before re-entering the house to retrieve my clothes and gear.
