Basic RP Information
Alright, so for those of you who are either:
a) bored enough to read this
Or
b) interested enough
Here it is, the basics of Roleplaying!
Essentially Roleplaying offers a great many benefits, but it also a skill, and one has to improve a skill to use it to it’s fullest extent. First I’d like to review some of the benefits to roleplaying and how it can help you in real life if you do it correctly:
1) It is great to improve writing. This is obvious, as this is what roleplaying basically is on a forum, writing.
2) It relieves stress. When you are stressed out from school and the people there become a completely different person, and lose your problems for a small time.
3) It helps you communicate better. If you can describe how you think and feel you will be better off in many situations. These include job interviews, table discussions, etc.
4) It’s fun. Lastly it is something fun to do when you are bored and have nothing better to do.
Roleplaying is also established on a few principles. If people don’t have these principles then they tend to not roleplay very well. The principles that are involved is what the school is trying to provide for roleplayers, to make them a bit better. These principles include:
1) Muse- Muse is the excitement and joy that one gets when they act as the character that they have created. This can apply to a topic in roleplaying, for example, “I have no muse for training,” or the entire act of roleplaying, such as, “I have no muse for roleplaying.”
2) Intelligence- For sure, roleplaying requires intelligence to perform. One must use their brain in order to solve problems, accomplish missions, and win battles. Because of this intelligence needs to be sought after and obtained in order to make a good roleplayer.
3) Social Interactions- Not all roleplaying requires social interactions, but a lot of it (and specifically the fun stuff) does. So, this school will help the roleplayer to hone their interactions with other players, and make their skills more useful.
4) Endurance- There will be times when roleplaying will seem tough, and you won’t want to recreate a character or to write a response to a thread. However, a lot of times if you want to roleplay you have to do these things. Thus, this school is going to try to make people become more enduring as roleplayers.
