Kirigakure graveyard: General image.
The female had stuffed the old Japanese book in the backpacker. Her final stop in this village would be the Kirigakure graveyard before she headed for Cha no Kuni as well as Konoha.
'Now to find my old relative' thought Marii as she scanned the gravenames for Mitsuo and Shiori Kazeraikou. They had been buried for a while ago, but she was on the right track judging by the death years on the other graves.
Graveyards brought a sad feeling to her...so many of her teammates or students had already died before her.
It did not make it any better that all of them were younger than her as well. 'Ah, I can't think of that now. Focus Marii' thought the young woman.
She then spotted a grave with the kanjis for 'Kazeraikou' on them. A smile formed at her face as she walked towards them. For some miraculous reason, it turned out to be the right grave.
'Shiori Kazeraikou. Beloved mother, sister and wife. Rest in peace' said the neat kanjis on the gravestone. She had died merely two years before her husband according to the death date.
The Jounin laid a white carnation on it before she turned her attention to the other grave.
'Mitsuo Kazeraikou. He will be missed. Rest in peace' said the print on his gravestone. "This is kinda weird...the ashes to my great-grandfathers nephew is right under my feet" said the female with a tiny smile.
At least this Kazeraikou had not been murdered, but had lived a long life with his family.
'Heh...I actually want to have the same sort of life that he had. Marry a guy I like, get two kids and then die when they're both grown up and possibly retired from the shinobi life.
But I'm a shinobi; I might die before that happens too' thought the Jounin as she remembered her encounter with the Ame nin. She had to be more careful from now. Particularly since the young woman would be the future leader in just 2 1/2 years.
